After all these years, to see some of these beloved scenes play out cinematically is deeply moving to me. Loving it!

The scene in FF7:Remake when the Sector falls and they get to the top and Tifa/Barret gasp while Cloud starts walking away, only for him to turn and walk back, total silence other than the sound of his steps on the metal plating - there's no way you could do that in 1997.
Seeing so many amazing scenes in full cinematic presentation is just insane. Would have blown my kid mind to know this was going to happen 25 years later. And now that they seem to have split the timeline, it's not just a "playing through the same story a second time"; there are things that I don't know since the story is following a different path. While some people are annoyed about that, "new to me" is fine, since it gives me a reason to really get invested since I DON'T know the outcome already.

But I kinda like that. It means I don't already know the outcome, which means more ability to get invested. It's not just "same story with a new coat of paint". I think the actual timeline here is original (and the before crisis/crisis core stuff), then Advent Children (then possibly DoC), then Sephrioth's soul somehow manages to go back in time, which causes a split in the timeline and two parallel ones (at least two).
As long as they DON'T pull a Chrono Cross and kill off all the original characters - have them show up as parallel timeline images that are destroyed (spoiler for THAT game, but they kill of Pometheus and then the future timeline that Chrono, Marle, and Luca fought for as well as their spirits/ghosts, more or less, showing at Lenne's Bell in the Sea of Eden, and then again at the beach at the very end of the game, "Where Angels lose their way"; and it's more or less accepted canon that Chrono and Marle die in an attack on their castle and Luca dies in the orphanage fire, possibly just killed by Lynx, though we don't know FOR SURE either of those are true, they're strongly implied). I don't want us to meet the OG timeline characters just for them to "sacrifice themselves" or something for this other timeline.
As long as they don't DO THAT, I'm okay with a new story that is more sequel with some time hopping and timeline split than it is remake.
Absolutely! Seeing it all in cinematic , how the characters feel and how they move and fight is giving me butterflies.

@@cryptoman6545 Vincent can join when you go to the mansion in Nibelheim, Yuffie can join anytime after Mythril Mine, you get Cait Sith in the Gold Saucer, and Sid joins in Rocket Town. I say “can” for Yuffie and Vincent because they’re optional, though I don’t know if it will remain that way in the remake.

@@velaikka I don't think so. Some of those flashes look like the Whirlwind Maze, which means we could get as far as Northern cave pt 1 (when Cloud gives the black materia to Sephiroth), so we could very well pass through Nibelheim
It's gonna be very awesome. I can't wait to see how they're connecting the different timelines between Cloud and Zack into a whole part of the story.
I hope they connect it by making Zack and others in alt timeline Knights of the Round.

True, but we haven't heard the rest of the games. I hope there will be a metal gear rising remaster or sequel, just like the director had (probably) hinted. If not, then yes 100% final fantasy 7 rebirth (and ever crisis, for that sephy lore)

This is absolutely everything a Final Fantasy VII fan could have wished for. The team attacks, the cryptic story that nods to the past but leaves us in unfamiliar territory, the open world that looks absolutely stunning and expansive. I am confident this will be my GOTY for 2024.
This year will be FF XV for ayer, or maybe Zelda, or maybe Armored Core but I think Zelda has the most chances to win.

This is THE game of my childhood. Seeing all these scenes play out how I imagined them is surreal. I will be forever grateful to Square for remaking this masterpiece so I can relive the adventure.
So glad they carried forward the Synergy attacks from Intergrade - can’t wait to see the different character combos!

@@ms.pirate that’s ALTERNATE SEQUEL GET It RIGHT and no drag and and advent are technically not canon in the way we know it anymore considering they happen on the original branch this is another new TIMELINE think ocarina of time adult and child for that example

As far as we know, everything is still cannon, consider we've only seen the Midgard section and a few shots from Rebirth. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure Nomura has said it is all still cannon. That could be a red herring, but imma beleive nomura over internet hype.

I think it'll end at the end of Disc 1 in the original. Then the third will be the rest. That makes the mist sense to mem

@@billybatts8283 the end of disc 1 was in the City of the Ancients. If I recall correctly, the very first thing that happens on disc 2 was the fight with Jenova-Life, which I do believe is the version of Jenova we see in this trailer.
Of course, things are obviously different this time around. In the original, the first encounter with Jenova, the Jenova-Birth fight, happened aboard the ship to Junon. We've already had Jenova Dreamweaver though, a previously non-existent form, in the Remake. So there's no telling what they do.

Same. I know people say they like the old combat, like the typical classic RPG. But in my opinion, it feels more epic and Action when the combat had changed to something like this. Again, in my opinion

The vast majority of us appreciate something refreshing, new and creative. That's always been what this franchise was all about as far as I can tell.
@@ms.pirate exactly, I grew up on turn based RPGs majority of my life and I started to like action based RPGs as well(thanks star ocean lol) but this is more of a perfect mix. You still have your action but you can only do so much extra moves due to the ATB bars & having to control each character.

What do people want, for them to recreate characters and enemies from scratch, make them look so good, and then Tifa just runs up and gives an enemy the EXACT same punch and kick every "Attack" she does..............like the original's combat??? No, that would be so stupid.
They haven't a notion what they are talking about. It just wouldn't work without having to sacrifice everything and going back to it looking just similar to the original with a 4K lick of paint, something like those new FFVII Ever Crisis FFVII scenes.

Everything looks great. The one thing I keep replaying the video for is that crazy music playing during the fight scenes. God it's good! Reminds me of the track playing when you're climbing the pillar to shinra. That always got my blood pumping. This is going to be a great game.
I love how the vegetation interacts with the characters on screen.
Favorite combat system of all times!!! can't wait i hope the bosses remain as good and the endgame bosses get insanely challenging and amazing to fight as well
ff7 remake combat system is the best remade into action turn based combat i've ever saw, and this one looks even better with those 2 characters combo attacks, they finally made redxiii playable, imagine playing as him in the cosmo canyon section, omfg, this game is going to be awesome

Aerith is getting a new Triangle based action or stance called Ward Shift
and Nanaki's Triangle action seems to also be a stance called Vengeance mode
I also loved the goofy classical chocobos it suits a Remake XV and XVI chocobos are incredibly fast but these ones seem to be pretty slow maybe that's just that the breeding is back and these are low level ones but it could also be that they're going for the classical goofy chocobos whichever way it goes im loving that too

@@koreyg8552Aerith and Sephiroth literally remember the original continuity, events that were never supposed to happen occur, certain things happen a lot earlier than they were supposed to, Wedge lived *much* longer than the original, and characters that died are implied to have survived this time around when they did not in the original. The Watchers were keeping it the same, and when they died the game clearly shows us Zach surviving his last stand only to enter an empty church instead of Aerith being there. Tetsuya Nomura also called it the *next* part in the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII. Remake definitely is not a direct 1:1 faithful remake, and in many ways absolutely is a sequel

The game is using timey wimey nonsense to be both a soft remake and a sequel that branches off into its own new direction. @@jdogzerosilverblade299 FF7 Remake was announced in 2015, and didn't come out until 2020. If they really waited, then people would have been kept waiting over a decade before anything was even released. At least this way sizeable content comes out

I wonder if Sephiroth will plan to turn Cloud against Tifa, because if Sephiroth know about the original timeline, he could know that Tifa was who helped Cloud to retrieves his memories, causing that he stop to be still his puppet. Meaning that Sephiroth could plans to makes that Cloud start to doubt from Tifa, to makes that he distrust from her and he can't accept his memories if Tifa was who showed him, avoiding that Cloud accept his true past.
Even, to consider that the fate isn't definite anymore, maybe Sephiroth end killing Tifa than Aerith, because without Tifa, Cloud couldn't retrieves his memories, and in turn, if he spares Aerith's life, she couldn't return to the Planet, making her a lesser threat in the process. At least as theory.
I'm thinking he's referring to aerith in that moment, like I killed her in the original so who's that there?
@@aggedine7821 Maybe. Yet, curiously he said this while occurs the flashback of young Tifa confronting Sephiroth, alluding that he was talking about her, not Aerith.
Adding that maybe Sephiroth meant that he killed the original Tifa during the Nibelheim incident, implying that Tifa is an imposter, as manner to makes that Cloud begin to doubt from her.
Even, i heard that in the japanese trailer, its more evident that Sephitoth was talking about Tifa, to said that he killed her in Nibelheim.
@@aggedine7821he’s not. In the Japanese trailer he straight up says Tifa’s name. “I killed Tifa with my own hands.” He’s gaslighting Cloud, exactly like in the original.
Sephiroth does this in the original. In the northern cave, he projects hallucinations of nibelheim burning and impersonates Tifa to retrieve the black materia from Cloud.

While in the trailer of Rebirth, look like that Sephiroth will makes this manipulations not only to decieves Cloud, but also to makes that he begin to doubt from his allies, planting a distrust that could end dividing the group, and even destroying the bond between Tifa and Cloud.
If that's not the actual Tifa we have been with this whole time I'm gonna actually freak out 🤣😵💫
Future Sephiroth is just doing what he did in Remake, messing with Clouds already broken mind again.

I like how shocked some of the audience was when the trailer said two discs.
In the Japanese trailer, Sephiroth says:
"ティファは俺が殺したはずだ。ならばあれは誰だ..."
"Tifa wa ore ga koroshita hazuda. Naraba are wa dareda..."
"I should have killed Tifa, so who is that..."
Implications of Sephiroth toying with Cloud's sanity and ours. This line is not about Aerith. It also implies the biggest spoiler in the game. *Hint, think JENOVA and think North Crater... if you know, you know....

Here are my taken from watching the trailer frame by frame. I may be tripping A LOT 😂
But here it goes:
In the beginning of the trailer Cloud is not with Tifa, Aerith, Barrett and Red found “dead”, because he’s with Zack, and this is Zack’s Timeline.
0:37 - That seems to be the Bone Village region. If you look at the Gaia’s worldmap that’s the only city/visitable location in Gaia OG that that’s between snowy mountains and grasslands, and you can clearly see snowy mountains on the back. Also, this scene is actually another cut, as Red and Aerith leave a mine corridor, supposedly from the Mythril Miner and then are close to a beach when they’re having this conversation. There cannot be a snowy mountain behind them, so we are actually seeing two different areas. Also, the birds might not be condors, but Tonadus, which are enemies that spawns in the beach close to Bone Village.
The area that appears from 1:23 could be Nibelheim because of the pipes leading to a larger structure, possibly being the reactor. There a mountain area around it, which makes this viable theory. Also at 1:25 you can see a pathway in the mountains leading to the reactor, on the left side of the screen, just like in OG FF7.
At 1:44 One of the hooded men seems go be cloud on the Whirlwind maze. Next we see a cave that if you examine well, seems different than the Mythril Mines show before, as the crystals in the back and on the area Boss seems to be Ice Crystals.
At 1:50 the Boss is releasing crystals that seems to be Ice, as it’s steaming around it, just as if it’s something really cold.
At 1:52 as he clings his fist, ice crystals splash from it. Thus, he’s in a cold cave area, which can only be Gaea Cliff.
Also, all lightning in this area comes from the crystals, there NO artificial lightning or man-made structures, unlike the Mythril Mines, that has both these elements. As for the HP/MP and other stats, this is a dev build, they could change the values to whatever they want to confuse us, so these might not be a good indicator to tell game progression.
And more import, Cloud is not there on the battle as he’s heading to the Reunion.
From 2:00 when the Turks appear they’re using the same trick as in the open field scene when they leave Midgar, they want you to believe it’s all in the Mythril Mines, but these are also two separate locations(Gaea Cliff & Mythril Mines).
The environment of the cave is pretty different from the cave Red and Barrett were on the previous take.

Finally.
Square Enix you truly have been an inspiration to me and what helped inspire me to create the DNA Franchise. Now after seeing this and listening to the amazing music (noticed a remix of Valkyrie) You never disappoint and this new Rebirth trailer looks absolutely amazing! Shinra manage to captured them. Except for cloud. So now that aerith lives the outcome will definitely be different. While i'm excited for this, what i'm really looking forward is the introduction of Vincient Valentine and Alternate story of dirge of cerberus.

I dont think its going to be open world as some people have hoped, though I could be wrong. Either way I am beyond excited for this game.
Doesn't have to be. Just has to offer more open ended chapters than Remake Part 1 which it already looks like it does. I'm actually playing through FFVII: Remake right now to complete it for the first time on PC.
I love the combat system and the presentation and story but it's way too linear at times. That's really my only gripe.
They mentioned it was open world in a QnA
