- Always love seeing these types of documentaries for games, but it's quite sad to see that nobody has done one in the past. So I took it upon myself and created it myself, the thing I wish I had when I started out. Documentary is styled like another creator @Wirtual , his content is amazingly done and you understand everything he says or shows, even if you've never heard of the game before.

Btw to add up some history about the sub23, both my last NY vid weren't planned to be uploaded at all (hence the delay) but I knew that breaking that goal would kind of force me to publish it. There was also way more cuts back then and some big one have been shared by ncrusador a day or 2 before NY leaderboard get wiped. Not to mention that he have been kind of huge to find some very creative cuts which would set the potential limit to a very low 22:1X back then. I did that run in a rush and probably crashed quite a bunch, decided to not finish it as It wasn't any better overall than my 23:06 uploaded, just a similar run with more cuts. This is the backstory !
Anyway these are just words,
Congrats to Doggerbot for the sub 23 and to everyone that kept pushing it, also to you for your work and effort to help out the community and retrace this history, It has been a hell of a ride !

Very well done video. For the future: don’t be nervous to voice over this was done amazingly! | Even though most people don’t consider it, stadia actually existed and I am happy to have been the one to have been first on it. I feel as if I really am a part of New Yorks history 😊 even though any player could beat that time lol. If I went back to stadia rn for 1 attempt I could destroy that final time

I was hoping to see myself there in the leaderboard when I was top 3 for moonths with the Noire on ps4 till I retired and stopped playing :(( i had only 1k hours on the game and all the Top 10 players had x3-x4 my hours so it was a Win for me🙌

Inner Drive update was one of the best (if not THE best) updates for me, simply because of Air Nitrous. After it got nerfed - the game started to get boring for me, alongside with updates going downhill (MotorpAss was the reason I stopped playing. Repetitive uninteresting events, no ability to grind CC for the cosmetics - why was this needed to be done...)
Air Nos fun in freeroam back in 2020 with the boys was something else

It’s pretty average I would say, not perfection but not shit either
Great video, yet I would like to know more about cuts history(like when 82 cut was adjusted after checkpoint update) and why some records were recorded in potato PC mode.
I could answer this with just a reply. Between 2018-2022 you would grab the checkpoint at the top of the mountain, then go off to the left and jump down the mountain while praying you don't hit any trees or rocks in the way, from there you would either go onto the cliff and jump down to the road, or go down to the right and Back on Track (later patched), so it was swapped by going to the left off the cliff and going onto the road. Jumping off the cliff was the fastest but the most risky way as you could throw away a run just because of that.
When it was updated (2022) they added 2 checkpoints, one in the middle and another at the bottom. The clip in the video is showing how the cut was done within the first days of it being out, but later it progressed and you can see how it's done in my 22:40 run for example. The longer route added roughly 30 seconds of extra driving, making it feel like it was impossible to beat the previous overall record, but that was all changed when they released the Bugatti Chiron SS 300+.
Next up, potato graphics shortly explained: It makes you graphics worse while keeping the quality (pixels), basically removing all of the leafs from any bush / tree. This meant that when you went for a cut it was clear to see where you were supposed to go, and it was more consistent than guessing every run. It was found out by 'doggerbot' since he used it in another game previously and then he decided to try it out on TC2 and somehow it worked.

Yeah the audio got fucked from the editing software which I really hate but it is what it is, could've added subtitles but I was already a couple weeks into research and wanted to make it quite quick in the end
