Definitely more Traveller content! Still got all of my LBBs and flicking through them is fantastic. I love how the Third Imperium isn't even mentioned in the first three books!
Here's my vote for wanting to see as much Traveller content as you can throw at us. I'm still hoping you will return to the recent 5e release and review that third book you didn't get to in your video coverage of that infamous, massive, controversial, widely unpopular edition. Now that some time has passed, have you yet found any reason to recommend that $100 hardcover 5e edition?
The Vilani got extensive coverage in GURPS 2nd edition Traveller Interstellar Wars. Their economy was based on that of the Incan Empire and their Armed Forces doctrine was based on Pentomic doctrine.
"Tell Norris I'm sorry." I don't know why, but this sentence, uttered by Strephon in "Arrival Vengeance", still gives me goosebumps even decades after I read it.
From memory, depot placement was decided (or randomly placed) in each sector when the original Atlas of the Imperium was created. This was before the whole Imperium had UWP generated. This can be a problem as GURPS Far Trader trade rules created the logical trading wealth of the Imperium (which showed how insanely important the Solomani Rim is economically)
Late to the game but your videos have opened my eyes to a whole new game. I would be very interested in more Traveller videos. Building your own sector video was great and would love to see more.
If the wiki's to be believed on the subject of Vegan dietary preferences: "This species survives using the following methods of consumption: Herbivore /grazer This species favors vegetable and plant-based foodstuffs." So, your capital-V Vegans are probably also small-v vegans, which might very well be a joke on the part of whoever came up with them originally. Wonder how many of them get tapped for liason work by agencies, companies, and individuals who have to deal with the K'kree? Not going to smell like meat, anyway.
Yes, please, more Traveller (& Harn)! Or, as much as you can fit in without upsetting your wargaming-only crowd (I love both, so I'm a subscriber and can appreciate as much wargaming goodness as you can put out, too). Just, please don't get burnt out doing your videos. You're everywhere now. I blame Dan Pancaldi.
I really like the world design and details of the Traveller* universe. I don't much care for at least the GDW version of the game itself. The same applies to Space 1889. Fortunately, pasting a world background onto another game system isn't particularly difficult. (BRP, Hero, Savage Worlds, or GURPS can all work pretty well for both of those worlds, and that's by no means an exhaustive list.) I had the rather embarrassing experience of saying much that at a convention when Frank Chadwick was standing right behind me. He was remarkably gracious. * I've never heard the story of why the Traveller RPG uses the British spelling of the word rather than the US spelling.
I've completely ignored the "assassination" story as I thought the resulting crap show was pretty bad. I still bought all the books and stuff just in case there was anything I could salvage from them.
Just discovered your wonderful channel and your copious amounts of excellent Traveler info. I have a question for you.... Which setting would you recommend for a my first foray as a referee for Traveller 2nd edition.... Third Imperium or Behind the claw.
I mean, both are great. But Behind the Claw gives you a lot of practically useful info on two border sectors. Third Imperium gives you Core Sector and a lot of high level info on the Imperial apparatus. Which is great to have, but for filling the immediate needs of a campaign, I'd unhesitatingly recommend getting Behind the Claw first. Then you can stack Third Imperium's info on how the state actually works on top of that later. Until then, winging the Imperial Apparatus of State is not only traditional, but works within the setting. The Spinward Marches are months away from Capital and have to make their own decisions on immediate needs without consultation from the central authorities. This is in fact a central pillar of the semi-feudal Imperial governance model.
IMTU Vegans are vegan and they won't shut up about it. They also vape.
So your Vegans be left in peace when the K'kree finally launch that "No Meat Eaters Shall Live" crusade, then. :)

Based on your recommendation I just purchased Mark Miller’s Agent of the Imperium.

I really need to take a closer look at the campaign setting Lore of Traveller. There's some really great plot hooks and waring factions in there!

I'd also love to see an Earth origins present day to jump drive timeline video about the Traveller universe.

Fuck. I haven't played traveller since the 80s. I'm aging
Hooray for Traveller Tuesday!
Great tour of the book, thanks!

Picked up the pdf. Cheers!

Excellent overview. I once owned the original releases of Traveller RPG. If you need a clarification from 30 years back...
I'd love to see a conspiracy theory/unsolved mysteries of the universe/video about the Traveller universe.
What is the novel you keep referring to? Agent of the Imperium by Marc Miller?
Yes.
Skipping the Megatraveller civil war would be great, it basically sucked.

@@ardwulfslair Thank you for the info! I of course picked them both up!😊
Good stuff!
Novel! Which novel?
It's called Agent of the Imperium. You can get it on Amazon. I actually reread it over the holiday. It's great.
