Great stuff, as usual. We tend to make things more difficult than necessary. I once saw an interview with Walter Trout, and he said this is how he solos: no scales, no patterns, just seeing the chords and playing in and around them.
Thanks Jeff. Already got the course but haven't gone through it yet. I have a feeling it will answer a question I've had about playing in one position.
Hey thanks! I’m not really making course with TF anymore, just my own stuff at www.jmguitarlessons.com. At the moment I don’t have plans for a part 2 but you have me thinking!
Man I can never resist picking up your courses 😂. But out of the cacophony of online lessons, yours are the ones that break it down so I end up saying "I can't believe I'm playing this!". Thanks Jeff.
As always thank you Jeff🤘I have almost all of your courses from your site Jeff & working and almost finished the British Blues Rock & if you would for Christmas would you Please put your Peter Green course on sale🤞Best teacher & have learned so much from you in last couple years. Keep rocking Jeff & Thank you!
C7/F7/G7 at open position and 12th fret; A7/D7/E7, 3rd fret; G7/C7/D7, 5th fret; E7/A7/B7, 8th fret; D7/G7/A7, 10th fret … now CAGED is missing B and F because B7 = C7 (down 1 fret) and F7 = E7 (up 1 fret). That’s how to play the 3 chords in each of the 5 positions. - Now for each of those Dominant 7 “shapes”, you must be able to play Mixolydian + b3/b5 from the Blues scale. The most important notes are 3/b7; they will most define those Dominant 7 chords.
You're the best Jeff!
Thanks Tommy!
Good lesson, and a very pleasant tone.
🤘🤘

Great tips Jeff. Rhythm and lead are two sides of the same coin, not two separate coins as is the way it's often taught.

Hey, Jeff did you live in Austin TX in the 90s? I'm pretty sure we met a few times if you did. Nice video thanks
Nope! 😉
Is playing 10 & 11 bars (D7,C7) an example of solo "thru" the changes (chromatic walk D,D#,E)? Super video!!
Yup!

The jazz is trying to sneak in without anyone noticing 😂

I see RED…
You hear with your eyes.
When I saw that amp, I was expecting bark at the moon.
Ha! A bit of a teaser… I’ll do a video on the amp but not playing what’s expected. That’s what I’m using in the video. It’s a great amp!
@JeffMcErlain i have the IR-J version and the cleans on it are great.
@@mikec8815 I'm close on one of those for a travel board as I like this so much!
