I enjoyed this a lot, thanks for posting both of them. I have a very long history with the Grand Canyon going back to when I was a young lad in the 1970's. I have done two Colorado River trips through the Grand Canyon departing from Lee's Ferry and floating all the to Lake Mead in NV. I have never been able to hike the canyon. So I loved seeing this from the trail view point. Thank You!
So glad you liked it! I'm a newcomer to the canyon, with most of my experience being the two times I've done this rim-to-rim hike. It's off-the-charts beautiful in places.
When I was a new Boy Scout my troop went on a week-long hike and camp through the Grand Canyon. We descended down the Bright Angel trail which was completely iced over and I was on the verge of tears because I thought I was going to slip off the edge of the trail and die. We descended so much that day we all took off our coats and shirts. It was a fun trip. Thanks for the great video.
My friend and I did the same hike, north rim to south rim when he was 70 and I was 68 in 4 days. It was part of the longer hike of the Arizona Trail from Utah to Mexico border divided up into multiple 2 and 3 day weekend hikes.
I did hiked all the way down to Grand Canyon, started around 6am came up around 4.30pm,I thought I was going to die there,I was so tired hardly can walk uphill for 30 meters without stopping, the last 3 hours,The next 3 days i almost can’t walk from torn muscles, But it was worth it,It was my dream to hike Grand Canyon❤
In 2000, at the age of 50+, I did a solo hike starting on the south rim - to phantom ranch (camp) to north-rim (rest for 3 days) back to phantom ranch (stay a night) then tothe south rim. This was in August. The temperature upon return was 110 in the shade of tree at Phantom Ranch at 11AM in the morning. Brutal heat. Going south to north at the start, i was carrying over 50lbs (1/3 of my weight). When I got to the north rim - I mailed about 25 pounds of my weight (Tent, etc.) back home and stayed at a cabin on the north rim then the Phantom ranch bunk-bed "cottage" which had some semblance of A/C. A most wonderful trip. Met MANY wonderful people. By far the scariest part is in the final mile or two near the north RIM where one is walking a narrow trail with wall on one side and death from a fall on the other. It's about 1/4 mile of this. I had a LOT Of trouble emotionally. I had children complaining that I was going too slow. :) Truly a most wonderful life-time experience.
Some of that scenery when you first started out looked like something out of LoTR. I hope to do this hike someday, but I would stay overnight at Phantom Ranch. I don't think I could do this in one day no matter if I trained for a thousand years. It's a bit like running a beagle on a treadmill, it isn't going to turn into a greyhound just because it runs a bunch! And I'm the beagle! 😅
@@mattsmid-lifemash-up3155 wanted to let you know that I think this is the best video I’ve seen of this hike on here and -that we got in on the lottery at phantom ranch so we are totally doing this hike next year! So very excited!
Very beautiful trail. I never want to go on it ever. Those drops are a bit much for me. I wonder how many people fall off in a year. Your video is the next best thing to being there.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I don't hear much of any news of people falling off the edge--it's more people getting dehydrated that is the problem--a serious consideration for this trail. Thanks for watching!
We all kind of look out for each other, but generally give anyone going uphill the right of way. I don't remember the oldest person I saw that day, but there were plenty of people in their 40s and 50s. Many younger, some older.
What time of year did you do this? The trail seemed rather crowded which can happen May to September. I did it in April (not rim to rim) and found it a lot less crowded.
It's definitely a thoroughfare. Lots and lots of fellow travellers. I had fun putting this video together and realizing that some of the people I crossed paths with a bunch at the end were also in earlier video shots... Just took a while to begin to recognize them.
Tex Willer e seus pards e índios Navajos passavam no Grand Canyon sem medo , mas eu estou morrendo de medo só de olhar no You Tube , Porto Velho - Ro - Brasil.
This guy is fairly clueless but the video of the trail is good. This is a place of great grandeur but also of oft underestimated danger. For most humans in really good condition, the hike to the river and back is an arduous two-day death march. Underestimate the magnitude of this magnificent place at your own peril.
It can be a dangerous trail and people get in trouble here every year due to the strenuous nature of the hike, especially in warmer weather (this video was shot in October). But, you are correct that I am clueless in many ways about many things. :-)
My son and I did a rim to river to rim last spring break. We came down south Kiabab to phantom up bright angel. It was wonderful! Loved reliving some of it through your channel! Great videos! How many where in your group? What kind of camera do you use?
if someone wants to hike in the grand canyon he/she should be thin, not have eaten, what season is suitable to hike in this beautiful area, what clothes should they have with them?
It's important to prepare carefully. I would avoid this hike in the summer. Early spring or late autumn would be best. I recommend wearing different layers of clothing so that you can add or remove layers as needed. This time I started the hike with a jacket and took it off after about an hour, and never put it back on. The previous time I did it I put my jacket back on at the end and was grateful for it, since my body was soaked with sweat and I was getting cold.
Why does the Colorado River flow THROUGH the Kiabab Plateau instead of around it to form Grand Canyon? Find answer at ua-cam.com/video/l96MB-RjJTY/v-deo.html
Mais pourquoi marchez-vous si vite ? !
All right, for all you people who hate the music I put on my videos, I made a version without music, just for you. Enjoy! ua-cam.com/video/hoiTUXXMI0I/v-deo.html

Молодым всё нипочём. Молодость, есть молодость. Ну конечно, люди преклонного возраста не полезут в такое путешествие по скалам.
На самом деле детей было не так много. В основном взрослые, в том числе и пожилые люди.
