- Welcome back to FINRlife! In this video, Joe explains the differences between the Mercedes AMG C63 and the C63S and gives his take on whether or not it's worth paying extra for the the S badge. Hey, so I want to tell you that your car does have lunch control you just have to put it in sport plus mode after your temperatures have reached operating temperatures. If you hold the breakdown and push the gas, it will go into race start.
I have worked and still work for Mercedes Benz in CA for many years and I have a 900 hp 21 C63s
Worth 10k all day long IMO, also for resale value. It’s the same with turbo and turbo s 991’s
Worth it, when your in that price point already, you gotta get the S. it’s the proper spec, and way more desirable when selling too
Very well put together video. Exactly the info I was looking for!
get the s. I own the 2019 c63s coupe. the rear slip is a big deal. you're not going to be losing races with this kind of torque, but the biggest problem is putting it down. launching in s vs regular is big difference only upgrade you'll need ever neet to put the torque down is larger staggered tire set.
Solid review. Keep pushing content....
IMO, the S is worth it. I used to think there wasn’t much difference between the standard 63 and 63s, but I was wrong. Not only did I get the 63s, I got the Edition 1. Draws a lot more attention, stands out from anything else on the road, and has a special presence. Also put a tune on the car and there aren’t many other vehicles on the road that can keep up.
Love the Edition 1! Wanted one for a while but couldn’t find any near me unfortunately :(
Had the chance to get an edition 1 wish i had pulled the trigger on it.
Ima be honest if you get the graphite magno paint they both garner about the same amount of attention lol
You could also just buy the little letter S and stick it in.
Red brake calipers can be painted red by the folks who paint rims.
More power is not necessary in a car that already struggles to put it down from the rear wheels only.
No it’s upbadging it’s not cool
I did pay extra for a S but I bought a used on from MB of Pompano - love the car. Love everything about it - nice video - thanks
Great vid!
I’m coming from a ‘16 Subaru STi, and got a ‘16 C63.
I was torn between the S and non-S. But I heard some people complaining about E-dif. problems. Has anyone experienced that?
My ‘16 does have launch control, too. Not sure if MB nerfed the ‘19 model year non-S, and took it away?
I can attest, my black C63 really doesn’t get a whole lot of attention - which is a blessing but also proves to be boring when cruising around. You don’t get many reactions, unless they know about the AMG already, or if downshifting a few gears with the exhaust open.
Some things I would LOVE to have comparing my non-S to an S would be:
- Traction Knob on steering wheel & extra drive modes
- updated interior lighting
(Edit) - the 9-Spd
That’s it! So far not worth 10k to me.
I really want to compare the E-dif to the mechanical LSD. Because let’s be honest we all want to hoon around in our AMG’s. I feel like the E-dif would make that easier with the computers help. But, learning how to tame a C63 with a good ‘ol LSD is appealing, too. Just not as user-friendly.
If anyone is in San Diego area, let’s compare them!
Hello bro,
I’ve been looking for a 2020 c63 under 20k miles for about 6 months now. I’ve found only 1 with mercedes Benz and put a deposit on it. C63s however, there are at least 10 on the market. Seems like it’s much harder to get hold of a c63 with low miles at the moment so I feel like it will hold its value much more
What tune is there for $500 I have a 2017 c63
Correction: Your standard C63 has launch control. Hold the break down and press the accelerator down all the way and it'll trigger it. I happen to own one
Definitely gonna test that out! Thanks for the info
@@finrlife My response should have been more nuanced. Requires Sport+ dynamic modality and few other things to trigger but it's there! Have fun
@@lorenzostoller1 nah its not. The facelifted c63 none s does not have launch control!
@@lorenzostoller1 the modus race-mode belongs only to the s versions. The launch control is called race-start and is only avaible in racemode.
@@sanlingerf8276 you’re wrong. I own standard 21’ 63 trim. If you put into S+ mode and hold brake and accelerator it triggers it
thanks
You forgot the ils lighting system which is an amazing option to have
Also get copper coloured calipers on the c63s facelift for carbon ceramic brakes.
You can have them on both, S and non-S, at least here in Europe
s owner and fully documented on my channel too. Lets do a head to head with your base model. Mines a '19 also.
You did buy the less desirable car. But if you don’t care about having the best trim level for a car it’s alright.
I assume the point of his video is whether it's worth spending $15-20K on average more for the S trim. If he wanted the most desirable car, he should have gone for the black series GTR
With 2019+ the whole comparison became useless… 🙄
No
I would NOT pay the extra 10,000 for the c-63 s
Here in the uk there is only a few thousand difference now (5 k max) plus interestingly they both make approximately 570 bhp after a stage 1 tune and to clarify since this twin turbo model appeared (2016🤔) 🇬🇧 the coupe model came standard with switchable performance exhaust but had to be specified from new on the saloon - hopefully next car for me 👍
These cars WILL BE a classic collectors car in the future. The S will be substantially more expensive as they are more rare. Worth the extra $10k.
What makes you think they will be collectors.....you can find tons on the used market now
You Missing the C63s is wider so looks more muscle car and has bucket sport seats .models from 2018 also doesn’t sound as loud as 2017 and 2016 because emission restrictions .I had the same dilema 2 years ago if it was worth it the S and is as simple as would you prefer a Audi s3 over a Rs3 ? I bought 2 years ago a C63s 2016 tune and down pipes 720bhp and is not exhaust restriction is 🔥🔥🔥🫶
You mean 2019 doesn't sound as lout
It’s not wider and the bucket seats are an option for both trim levels lol
C63 vs C63s is nothing like S3 vs RS3. More like RS3 vs RS3 Vorsprung
@@chrishurst8358 S3 owner commenting ? ;)) - or you went for a c63 none S . Xx
@TheValbunnys neither, I have an M3 Comp, which is like an M3 but with some extra bits to make it a competition, note an M3 is not a M340i (using your logic)
