Awesome video brother. I just bought the same car but an 04 with 9k miles. Drove it 400mi home and was worried sick the whole way because I had watched this video beforehand. It did great and I had a blast.

I love the Viper. When the OG one came out in early 90s I fell in love. It's my 2nd favorite car behind the 77 Pontiac Trans Am. Sexy as hell
You are going to need to find a solid Dodge dealer hopefully that has a certified Viper mechanic. Have the motor pulled and freshen up all the seals. I would simply replace the tires with new ones and maintain the factory rims. At 30k plus another 5k for the refresh and 20 MPG it's really an affordable very cool ride. Great purchase Randy. 👌
Honestly I haven't heart anything more ridiculous than keeping the original tyres it's consumables like in that logic you should also keep the oil coolant etc original

Randy I have the same car and year and the valve springs grenaded. This is the 2nd time its happened on this engine. My ram srt10 also grenaded the springs If you can read this, change out the OEM valve springs STAT

My dream is a gen 1 RT/10. Saw one when I was little kid fly by on the freeway and I was hooked. Corvettes never did it for me.
Vipers are so cool, be careful Randy they are tremendously easy to loose control of (just ask Frazer Crane?). I have a coworker that has owned a first year Viper and they truly are "beasts". I recall him having to replace a 4" piece of coolant hose that ended up costing 1000s of dollars as the motor needed to be pulled? Really nice car Randy so jealous!

Randy, you are crazy driving that beautiful hot rod on 20 year old tires. If you had had a blowout, you would've probably got injured or killed but you would've probably totaled that car. Put some new tires on it. Don't be stupid and drive that thing like you did from Chicago with those old tires. Just don't want anything bad to happen to you or anyone around you.

I was in st. louis last summer, saw quite a bit of homeless actually. St. louis has very interesting architecture. Didn't show the trunk? I'm surprised that tire didn't blow when you got back to OK roads, lol. This may be a stereotype but I think the viper was mostly for old retirees who wanted that 60's nostalgia, might be why there's a good number of good examples out there.

I saw that
30,000 dollars for a viper. 6 % state tax 6 % Chicago city tax. 12% In tax’s. That’s 3600 in taxes that’s the only thing crazy about this situation. Hope Randy know about the 6 % Chicago city tax before hand.
LOL, Josh in Canada and specifically Ontario where I live you pay 13% tax on virtually everything you buy! So you kinda get used to it and factor it into the purchase price almost subconsciously. But you're correct it's insane ......

I think I recall you saying it didn't have ABS, at your gas stop @34:20 the light came on as a check, so you at least have that on those 20yo. tires.
If your in middle Tennessee and at night,AAA won't be there for you,I was outside of Nashville and AAA was called twice,they never showed so I messed up my door to get home,thank AAA,Good job Randy and congratulations on your dream car, don't sell it now.
In Western Australia we can’t legally drive on tyres more than 5 years old. If caught our vehicle can / will be defected.

Always seen that dealership driving on the highway for work. I'd pass it and say "one day I'm guna go there and check out some of the cars they have there" but I have yet to stop in there. Lol. And bucca de beppo has amazing food! I've gone to the one in Orland park several times a while back and it was always delicious.

I took one on a trip about 500 miles. The only down fall is that there is no Cruz control in the viper. Your going to have to find a way to add it. The one I drive was a silver 03 SRT 10

Glad to see someone literally living my dream of a life between the viper and a hummer, im 1/8th of the way with the h3 lol still stand by my word tho even being gm, the drivetrain and 3.7 5cy is reliable enough for the time being until we win the lotto or something to be moving on up. Anyways beautiful viper and glad you finally broke the seal and grabbed one. 😉👍
Those cars aren't known for their incredibly smooth ride anyway, so I'd probably put some Pirreli Run Flats on it and play it safe. They handle well enough, unless you plan on taking it to a track.

You see that Roanoke sticker on the passenger side at around 7:42? That’s from Roanoke motors in Roanoke Illinois. Believe it or not at one time they sold the most vipers in the country! Yes a dodge dealer in the middle of acres and acres of cornfields. I live about 15 minutes from Roanoke.
