Enjoyed this classic with my dad and brother at the theatre back in 89. I was an adult at the time but how can you not see this with family?? Rest in peace, dad.
Amazing how far Clark went and the trees and terrain features he went through and Eddie and the kids could still see him hit the box in the Wal-Mart parking lot.
This scene had me laughing for 10 minutes AFTER it ended. My family thought I was having convulsions! 😂 and that look on Eddie’s face at 2:12 killed me too!
1:04 I love how the stunt double straight up says "later dudes " in a voice much deeper then chevy 😂 like doesn't even try. That's my favorite part of this movie.
I love how he goes on and on about how the plate is now plastic so it's not as strong, and his biggest concern isn't further damage to his skull or brain, but that if the plate is dented, his hair won't look right. Eddie is the best
The first time I viewed this I nearly hurt myself laughing so hard. My grandma who is a home health nurse thought her client was going to have a heart attack laughing so hard.
Especially the bit at 1:54 where Clark nearly ends upside down with the comedy sound effect... I can remember rewinding that part of the vhs rental over and over again until it got a little crinkly 😂
This is a new non-caloric silicon-based kitchen lubricant my company has been working on. It creates a surface 500 times more slippery than any cooking oil.
One of the best scenes in this movie by far! My brother and I used to crack up when we’d watch this scene! This movie is definitely one of my favorites! I can’t even count how many times I’ve watched it over the years!
@@boldsign just from personal experience. During the holiday break my school choir used to use the bus for traveling for special Christmas concerts. I’m sure this is looking too much into it, but there’s my two cents.
This gets me in a good mood! I think it’s funnier than in Elf when buddy the Elf throws the snowballs back at the people on the bridge during the snowball fight scene!😂
"Every time Katherine revved up the microwave, I'd piss my pants and forget who I was for half an hour." That line will never not be utterly hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣
All we Wal-Mart managers remember the most is the incorrect signage and having a stack of LOW marked up “Old Roy” in “Action Alley.” But my favorite is the “prayer “ at dinner.
It's one of those movies that everyone can enjoy. I remember watching this on television one holiday season when I was still in high school. My Dad started watching it and to my surprise he actually laughed through the entire movie with me. He particularly enjoyed the anti-Christmas yuppie neighbor scenes always saying "Oh boy, *those* weirdos-what's gonna happen now?" Great Christmas memory for me.
Whoever had the idea for those two fireball shots at the start of the sled run deserves an Oscar 🤣🤣🤣
Dude this is the part that kills me right off the bat 😂😂
Gets me every time! 🤣😂🤣😂
Lmfao right! Love it, everytime I watch Christmas vacation I always skip til sled scene.. love to see rocket sled with fireball
1:03 😂😮
He goes down like The Flash 🤣
The part where he just casually pushes off but explodes into a rocket kills me 😂
You and me both! 😁😂
He's literally just a streak of fire for the first 5 seconds 😂 That is some slippery shit.
As a child this never concern me of how fast he went down that hill XD
😂😂😂😂💀
5000 times more slippery than any household cooking oil
Lmao this comment section is hilarious😍
The Flash - "I'm the fastest man on Earth."
Clark Griswold - "Hold my non-caloric, silicon-based kitchen lubricant."
I've watched this movie 20 times.... and this scene kills me EVERY TIME!!!
Yep. This cracks me up every time.
Such a good film, such a good scene
Pathetic I've watched this movie 109 times
Yea I counted
I'm at well over 200 times. And I never stop laughing. Ever. 😊
"Every time Catherine revved up the microwave, I'd piss my pants and forget who I was for a half hour or so." XD
+Max Power My all time favorite quote from the movie.
Showed this scene to my late dad years ago & when Quaid said that, my dad started laughing so hard his bad back began to hurt.
Lol
Remember when Randy Quaid only played these sorts of characters?
Do you really think it matters, Eddie?
I couldn't stop laughing at that scene starting off with Clark shouting "Oh Shiiiitt!"
Favorite scene ❤
I didn’t know that that’s what he said until I put the subtitles on
@@tmntfangirl4700 I love it ♥

“Later dudes!”
*immediately accelerates at 88 miles per hour traveling through time*
I was thinking that to when I saw this.
He's gone to plague
THAT was a horrible idea!!🤣🤣
More like mach 20 the gunshot can also be a sonic boom lmfao
Haha
The funniest Christmas movie scene ever
amen to that
Nah the part where he gets the one year subscription to the jelly of the month club is funnier.
Not for me, I felt sad for him during that scene.
This isn't funny at all
That and the whole Squirrel sequence
"Later dudes. Let 'er rip. Hang ten" I say that every time I go sledding or Skiing

I watched this movie for the first time last night and this scene absolutely killed me. chevy chase nailed their roll.
Come to this movie and especially this scene every Christmas season. Such a classic. They sure don’t make ‘em like they use to do they!!
Truly one of the best scenes ever filmed in a Christmas movie, amazing!!
Lol this film is complete comedy gold!
Damn right it is!

Basically what my kid wants to do tomorrow when the snow freezes overnight.
When Eddie pats the right side of his head and says, "Over here, nothing." Yeah, we knew you were brainless. You didn't have to remind us. 🤣
Come on they cut it off at the best part.
Eddie: Bingo
That boing sound at 1:55 lmao 😂
I never noticed that before 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The school bus gets me every time 😆 💙 😂
Did you know it had the truck horn pass by sound effect?
Ikr like what the hell would a bus be doing there? Isn't school out for the holidays?
@@boldsign just from personal experience. During the holiday break my school choir used to use the bus for traveling for special Christmas concerts. I’m sure this is looking too much into it, but there’s my two cents.

I love this scene. But I seriously believe that what makes is funny is the music cuz it’s so joyous and happy 😆
In the shot of the hill, while Clark is yelling his name, you can see the string of explosive that detonate in the following shot
I am REALLY glad I'm not the only one who noticed that.
I always thought it was a long drop cord for the lights.
Just before Clark crashes through the shed, you can see the shadow of the camera on the wall to the left.
"Eveytime Catherine revved up the microwave Id piss my pants and forget who I was for a half a hour"
Still THE best scene in a Christmas movie ever!! 🤣🤣
“Later dudes!”
Famous last words!
And in that moment he became Sonic the Hedgehog
That's because he was using an experimental cooking grease 😵😵😵😵
I believe that sled ride exceeded Clark's expectations!
Pretty much everything exceeds his expectations
The sad part is...Randy Quaid turned into Eddie in real life...
At least he'll always be in character.
@@joel8583 For the senseless remake!
