  • Heating the print shop using a Glenwood Woodstove Industrial 7070 Outdoor wood boiler and radiant heat in the concrete floor. Woodstove are a bit more work, but we keep wood out of the landfill and heat our building. That is a win win. This wood stove is simple and that means it does not break. I plumbed this in myself, my last Glenwood lasted over 20 years, I know other outdoors stoves failed before 10 years!

    Suggestion:
When you fill the towers at 3:48 put the first set of paper stops you remove on the bottom in front of the tower.
Then load each shelf and use the stops from the one below each time.
That halves the number of times you move them.

Great point! Thanks. I think I did that by accident a few times but will do that on purpose from now on!

    Hi Dan,
I really liked the tour f your heating system and the barns and silos. I have a SPF-20 and the SF-20 is missing the Knife motor. Does the stapled booklet activate a sensor to trigger the Knife Motor for one revolution and, does the speed of the knife motor vary with the thruput speed of the booklets. I need to get a motor and wonder if Grainger might have one that would work. It looks as though it might be 3 phase as it works with an inverter and there is some speed range in the adjustment literature. I seem to recall it is between 2.7 to 3.1 ??

What do you do to manage all of your orders? Whiteboard, paper, software, etc?

For our long-term projects I keep a spreadsheet, some book projects take several months. For day-to-day we have job tickets. My email inbox also becomes an order organizer. :) Keep it simple.
