How you need in Dividend
Before you say 10k a month, let's do some quick math here.
Minimum Wage in the city NYC, is 15$ and if you full time: that’s
( Do the Math of yearly income after tax)
( Do the math of how you need to have invested at a 4%
dividend Rate)
( DO the math on how long it takes to save that money in 40
years)
10 Years 300k and 600 monthly Divident
40 years 7m value and 15k Monly Divident
My Acorn Investment Aggressive Portfolio App After 12 Months
Why I choose Acorn: Simple and well-balanced portfolio to prevent massive loss. Because I have bonds and stocks ETFs mixed together.
How much Money I have Invested
Story: Before I did Acorn I picked stocks ( Didn’t want to do it anymore) ( wanted something more Simple)
- How I started: Back in October I had 7$ invested not a million sorry to let you down.
- I invest 5% of my income currently, so about 500 a month
- I invest on 20th of every month so now I have $5500 Dollars invested with acorn ( Convenient for me)
- All my dividend is Reivested Also ( More later)
How it Works:
- This money pays me Grows at an average of 6-12% each year
- Pays me dividends
- Its Invested into Stocks and bonds for more Security
My Portfolio Type
Story: Acron lets you picked your Portfolio ( Based on your Risk level)
Basically, the more stocks etf the more risky, the more bonds, the less risky
- ( So I have a moderately aggressive with 80 stocks ETFs and 20% bonds)
- If you like risk, you could do aggressive and go all Stocks
- Or do not so aggressive and go Bonds
- Half and half
Why: I want to have some money, for well the market Crashes and it will happen
Profit Vs Cost ( Then I’ll go into, why I invest and Predictions)
Invested: $5,500
Dividend: 2.35% ( I did the Math) - $129.25
Gain: 6%-12% ( What I expect) $385
Referral: 5$ per Person that join ( plus they get 5 bucks too) 84 people for $420 bucks
Found Money: I Take Uber $8.50
But… Heres what actually Happened
My Portfolio Gain Overall: 7.62% Total Gain of $461
YTD GAIN:
VOO (Large): 21.26%
VB(small): 18.59%
VWO(emerging): 9.74%
VNQ( REIT): 26%
SHY(Gov): 1.59%
LQD(CORP): 13.38%
VEA (Int): 13.80%
Dividend: $77.80 ( because I took invest all at once)
( Talk Overall and YTD Returns)
- Since I every month my returns differ, but If invested once a year ???
Tip: Research Shows, over the long term, it all averages out plus the opportunity cost
Cost: 12$ that’s it… (not that big of a deal)
Please: Management vs fixed fee is very different ( I would leave if they had a management fee)
Why I invest
- Plan A for future Me: When I get old
- Passive: Dividend is great
- Real estate: I can leverage the investments
My Predictions
- I’m Realistic: The Market will crash, or the Economy will slow down
- What to do: Invest more for discount
- Diversify: Remember this 5% of my money ( Don’t put all your eggs in one basket)

Is 1$ a month too expensive to start investing?
*** 6 Months Results***
Link: ua-cam.com/video/U4RLWIxubYg/v-deo.html
It is not the point that its a dollar a month. The point is that overtime $12 a year adds up and if you're not giving me a return more than $12 that means I'm losing money. Plus I am advocate for knowing what's in your portfolio and having the power to take out companies that are not working for better ones that are. The only investment then I will take where control is somewhat difficult is an employee 401k or Roth IRA account. Even then if you just take the time most companies like mine have pretty good options available.
Freedom is important, depending on your goals and Management fees compound however fixed fees are better, and the more you grow that 1$ is less and less. Over a 40 year run that’ll cost you $480 bucks total
Yes! A person could go straight to Fidelity and invest in a zero net expense ratio Index mutual fund (FZROX) and get a year to date return that follows the entire stock market for free.
Yes it is too expensive. I think I’ve been with them for three months so that’s three dollars in fees paid, and I’ve only made $.65 so not worth it so far.
If you only give 1 a month it's not worth it. Might as well not invest at all. In 1 year I saved up 1k.
It’s best to channel funds into multiple investments, this has helped me multiply money. I wonder why people fear diversifying.
Over diversifying can be risky.
I’m mostly focused on building more income stream.
I Invested 90 percent in stocks and in currently considering other ventures.
Financial independence is a goal worth striving for.
@Scott Riley I’ve read reviews on Frost Hilda’s trades, how long has he been handling your trades and how has he enhanced your earnings?
I put daily $5 daily + round up when I was 18, and now (23) i have couple thousand save up and a lot of money in individual investment. Gotta thanks my high school teacher for helping me beginning this journey.
Dude that cool! I’m 18 right now and I’m in my last year of high school and I have a class of personal finance and my teacher was talking about this about but dint really make sense till I went on here and now it makes a lot of sense and I’m ready to invest and make money and I’m only 18!
Thats good man. I wish i would have done it then. Im 25. Better now than never.
@Omar Mendoza invest bro. Do it. You wont regret it. Dont waste your money on dumb stuff. You wont regret it.
I’m proud of u young man.

Extremely educational video. I've spent the past few hours researching acorns and this video drove it home
I love this channel. I'm glad I found it. A lot of great down to earth practical advice. Keep em coming.
Thanks brother, any ideas send them over

@@TommyBryson I like the content man. Just gotta slow the roll a little bit so I can digest all the information you throw at me
Hell naw. I put him on 2x.
I thought it was just me. He talks so fast.
But I love the info.
Just turn 30 last month, and have a decent job. Wanted to do some small, first time investment. Just put my first $200 into the app.
I started in march and have noticed that I make money everyday. I came to this video to figure out why. Like, everyday I make at least $5. Felt it was too good to be true. Now I understand. Thank you
Glad this helped and it’s all based on the economy and way its moving. The average is 7% and some years it’ll be higher and some it’ll be much lower. The best thing to do is to keep investing
@@TommyBryson gotcha. Thank you
Tommy thank you for always sharing your accounts, you motivated me to share my journey, full transparency. thank you so much for the motivation, and keep those investments growing!!
Thank you !!!
*Thanks for sharing this Tommy! I look forward to your next video!* 👍
Thanks brother 😎
A great video to resurface. You reference your concerns with risky investing and potential market slow-down/crash.
Bro, I thank you for being clear and informative. Keep it up.
i have invested a year, started with 200 a week, so far 4-5% profit
lower than other investment profit
not worth i think
love your content. I joined acorn because of you. Thanks!
Great video and wonderful information.. I just started this week.. Set it up to do a $ 10.00 deposit once a week. I decided to be moderately aggressive 20/80.. :)
I’m half and half, Still learning. Great video😊
Thank you for these videos!!!
I've been investing in acorns the last three years I've been putting a avg of 125 dollars a month I had no idea how it exactly worked I just like seeing the money grow thanks for this break down I better understand now!
Ayeee nice and what has been your total return so far 😎
Wow
😎🙌consistency
@@TommyBryson my total invested is close to 4000
CALICOTV301 what investment sites is this that states that? Pls post the link? Mr Financial Advisor.
Like the T-shirt.
Listen this investing thing is the bomb and is absolutely better than nothing at all. That how ppl need to look at it esp those who just have a hard time saving. It’s so easy to spend money - every day we have to spend money to buy something and cos we are so used to it, it’s second nature. We spend spend spend which makes it extremely hard (so darn hard that some ppl just don’t know how to) save money. It is just mind blowing how much money can be made (can lose too but got to stick with solid companies) in the Market yet it’s the last place ppl shop at. (Since the pandemic more ppl have gotten in)

Just subbed! Just started to learn about stocks
Nice video keep up the good work best financial advice you tuber here!!!!
Thanks brother 😎
I just started last month I’m $715 in I like acorn too
I'm also new to Acorns, I started with $200 .0 I then placed an additional 300 in with a reoccurring deposit of $100.0 dollars, I'm planning on keeping the account for the next 5 years to see what happens. We shall see.
Soon as you said compound interest...I knew to like and subscribe
Mic drop! The best part about your portfolio is compound interest because your age. 💲💲💲💲💲
A lot of what you are saying, to me, extremely optimistic. While true that the Stock Market is high at over 27,300, back January 2018 it was 26,616. Also 2018 the Dow fell, for the first time in a decade. Since January, 2018 there has been an increase of roughly 2% in two years (or 1% yearly). Personally, I am staying out of the Market for the now, sticking to R/E. At least I have a certain degree of control over that.
Great Video Tommy! 👍🏾
Thank you !!
I’ve been waiting for this update. Can’t wait to reach 6,000 you’ve inspired me :)
Ayeee step by step
Yo tommy, I too dividend invest. Check out IVR. $2.80 per share and .50¢ per share dividend. They were hit hard by the rona and instead they recently payed in shares and .05¢ for the remainder. It’s a win win.
Great video G I have about 1200$ in my acorns .
Thanks for this 💕💕💕
Thanks for the dividends advice my Acorn portfolio is around $200 right now
What’s your goal and yeah for the moderately aggressive I calculated 2.35% average
Is there any drawback like 401K from works? Like taking 30% fkin Percent for taking out my own saving.... :V
(I didn't watch the video cuz I have no access to audio atm)
I’m goin aggressive all the way. I don’t plan to do anything with the money in acorns for a long while. I’m willing to take on the risk because like you, I’m in it for the long run.
Kavon Silas most ppl believe the market is due for a reset so you could lose it all the better strategy is to be conservative until after the crash/reset then be aggressive any gains you might make will most likely be wiped out so it would be better to have a bigger stash to invest when there is value and growth potential.
Same here I just started a few week ago only have 50$ but it 50$ i wouldn’t have if I didn’t even starting at all aggressive
Same going aggressive on later account to
How’s that working out for you during the pandemic?
How is it going so far
Were your dividends and earnings automatically reinvested into your portfolio, Or did you have to do that manually?
Coming from Webull..
....before Webull, i caught a headache with E-Trade
....now im with Acorn
But started originally with Cashapp stock trading(the easiest... but limited on stocks)
U know what when i think about it fine if I was getting referrals then yes. Those returns would be worth it. And the fee would be important.
If they had a management fee, I would leave
Candace v trust, they give you plenty of opportunity to get your own $5 referrals when using the app!
I've been in acorns since 2018 I've invested so far about 1400 dollars in which I started from zero so it does work you just have to stick with and that's what I plan to do. Right now I have a total of about $700 between the acorn stock and the later account. Only reason why I pulled the money out the first time is because I had a emergency. Also $2 a month is not that much they pull it out from my bank account not from my stock investment account. Just stick with it and watch your money grow it does work you just have to stick with it...
Well, in 46. I'm thinking aggressive.. im getting old old...lol
I have a similar portfolio, with this exception. I am 70% stocks with 30% bonds.
That’s pretty good, how’s it been performing so far
TommyBryson I’ve actually been enjoying higher returns from my eTrade account. With that said, I cannot complain.
Subscribed what’s good dude
Can you please do a acorns video on esg sustainable portfolio acorn just made a update not so long ago I am super behind on this 😀 also thank you for making all these amazing video for me to watch when I have time
38$ a month income, thats amazing! Im gonna do the same, wait for 500 years and buy a new lamborgini!

Was this whole video an Acorn ad 🤦♂️ Dammit Tommy u got me..
Hey Tommy is your Acorns portfolio taxable or Retirement 401K account?
Thanks for sharing your strategy and tips!
Thanks brother 😎and always
Love acorn.
I've made $ in acorn
I started $5
Every month I put in $20 and I've done round up.its beautiful.Started 2018 I've made good $
So far I am happy with acorn.
Thank you for the video.Very transparent!
How much have you made ?
I just got this on my recommendation bro; you are great; this is going to be a life changing; I will get my feet wet on it I hope it goes well 👍
Did you start yet, how is it going so far ?
I go to watch this video and the ad is for acorns. 🤣 I'm dying
Lol part of the game
Hi what's up bro, I've been watching alot of your videos and wondered if you have any advice about person who dont live in the us, in place's like the Bahamas
Genius, video!
Solid returns man! Clearly your strategy is working
Step by step 😎 it’s a long game
Nice!!! my YTD return is 6.83% that amounted to $183.89
@ Mild conservative i upped it to mild aggressive
Bro, ticker VOO, S&P 500 tracker ETF, gave me 35%, plus a 1% dividend in 1 year. Warren Buffet always tells his wife if he dies before her, to just invest in the S&P, it’s the most consistent stock market indicator, and is besting your “aggressive” fund.
Thank You 😊
Well worth the .00018 a month. Or 1$ for scrubs like me. Either way it’s a brilliant and easy way to invest our spare change into our futures
Same 😎
Aggressive...I have probably 15-18 working years left. When there’s a crash, I believe I have time to recover. Market crashes generally last a few months to maybe a year and a half, and then it’s back or at new highs.
Vanguard index fund investing (ETF) is the way to go, don’t bet heavy on beating the market!
I have a question. I’m moderate right now. I’m 35. And i have a couple thousand in acorn. Should I go aggressively or stay moderate
I wish I knew about making money like this man does.
What's up Tommy, I'm a young black accountant myself. I'm also leaning a bit on the conservative side, since I've been anticipating this market crash for months now. Good to know I'm not the only one who gets turned off by going 100% stocks. Great video bro, keep it up!
Can you talk or email
Acorn charges $3 a month now also I feel you can do the same concept like the same idea your doing with acorn on Robinhood and avoid that $3 a month charge from acorn. If your in it for the long run then just do what warren Buffett does buy blue chip stock or index funds and forget about the investment for 10+ years
It’s still 1$ for the basic, the problem with robinhood is the rebalancing of your portfolio
can you pick what company you invest in or is acorn doing that for you and you have no say except how aggressive or conservative models you pick?
I think acorns is a worthy service to take advantage of but I also feel like it's important to have passive income to be able to invest on a monthly basis into yourself if you're struggling from day-to-day just to pay your bills and put food on the table where's the extra coming from to be able to invest? Some will said we'll start small start with $10 or $5 I don't know. The question is, is it worth it? I would say yes because with making a small investment today starting off with $5 or $10 can eventually change to the point where you can make a $100 or $150 or even $500 dollar investments into yourself. It all starts with taking the first step to practical smart saving strategies. Have I gotten there personally? No, that's why I have a GoFundMe set up trying to raise $600 to fix a car but with baby step's I can get there & you can to.
Alot of people use acorn and stash as beginner investors. Way to be consistent
Yeah it’s a great way to start with a small amount of money 😎
$5 invested so far now its at 5.01 lol I'm thinking of pulling out of robinhood and going with acorns because I dont have much time to watch the market everyday and research stocks
Tech I'm going to do the same. But because there is no customer service for robinhood. I think acorns is good based of the v guard funds
Chevy stepside gears you guys can get OPTIONS, for the long-term!
I do both
Need more details, I'm interested but have NO experience.
Bro keep Robinhood . I just invested a dollar and made a 100 in three days . It don't seem like much but you have to research and invest . Start with index , bonds
Tommy, this was another great review. I have used Acorns for the 2 1/2 years. I have a reoccurring investment of $25 per week. Keep putting out great content, you are an inspiration.
Jon Johnson how have you been doing? I just started. How much return do you get per month?
@@MaximoGamezDedicatus i want to know as well
Me too
What are your thoughts on tax loss harvesting? Acorns does not provide that feature vs Wealthfront & betterment which do.
Wheewww chileee... You speak fast along with hand movements got my heart rate up lol. Good stuff though, I have $300 in my acorn app somehow... I signed up an forgot it was connected.
TimmyTTv im sorry but I laughed so hard at this😭😭😭 I have ur type of luck
L.E. Nichols that’s how it’s supposed to go lmao
@@cocute2000 lol
i got another question can u you use any bank account to invest right?
385.83 invested with $20 recurring payments. I've been making about $1 a month from my investment. I need to learn how to make more.
friendly reminder to use the app for shopping you would do anyway and gain "found money" ! ;)
With regards to the part about assessing your risk tolerance. How are you screwed if the stock market takes a dive? You said you were in it for the long haul.
Moderately aggressive holds up pretty good I noticed, however in that moment when it does take a dive it’ll go down by a lot more than someone with more bonds in their portfolio.
And the thing is; say for example I’m in it for 40 years and on year 35 we get a crash, that’s a problem: so the goal is, the closer I get to the end, the more my portfolio will shift to less risk
What strategy is better on investing at acorn, lump sum or dollar cost averaging??.
hi Tommy,i know this video is from november but can i ask what about taxes?when do we pay taxes on the money we make?
Hey there great video man I’m new to acorns and wanted to ask you or anybody if there’s a way to check when the stock marketer crashes/resets and goes up again??
how do you see what they put your money into?
Is there an option to put all of the funds from the app index fund?
@tommybryson thanks for ur video on acrons after watching it i have a little better understanding on how it works but I have a few questions; how do I reinvest my dividends? How often dividends are paid out? And I want to switch my portfolio will it come at a cost and will I lose my profits from my current portfolio?
Great questions
1. Dividends are automatically reinvested
2. They are paid out at different times, some monthly and quarterly
3. And no you don’t loose profits by switching portfolio
@@TommyBryson I am switching my portfolio an investing more.
Can u choose what u invest in like oil etc. or does acorns invest for u like every other 401 or insurance policy????
I know how much we invest vary, but is your moderately aggressive portfolio same as mine or any other same portfolio? I mean all the stocks and it's distribution, are they same if it's a same portfolio. I am asking because my friend starting using acorn about two weeks ago on my recommendation, she is a risk taker, went with aggressive portfolio and already on a loss of about 3.5% which is about -$400. She is slightly worried, at this rate she would lose all her money in no time. What should she do? I have been with acorn for a yr now and I am having a pretty good experience and seeing a gain but I invest lot less than my friend.
Nice tutorials
im new to this i got a question since im new to investing when you start off with 10 dollars in acorn investment how do you grow the money do you keep puttin money in it im soo soorry this all new to me or once you invested does it grow by it self ?
$108.03 to date but only in roundups
Step by step 😎
I invested $1k a lil over a month ago and the last two weeks i lost money, about $25 but i am making money back again. And ive also been investing monthly so ive only made one monthly investment of $50 so far plus with the round ups, my acc is valued at $1,120.28 rn
Tommy your channel is growing ! Keep going bro ive been watching your videos since the beginning 🔥🔥

How often should I sell my stocks?
Hi I'm new in this I think I just have 20 rigth now but I want to know more I don't know if it's safe but I don't have nothing to do with mi money Soo thanks to you I think I will keep growing my account thx nice video 👍
I found this video because I was not clear on what I was investing on Acorn I don't see any stocks or what the money is going towards. please help me understand this because I only send money to invest I don't get to pick what I invest in...… or can I choose??
I like acorns because you always gain and it takes little to no experience, I got close to 5K in the app
How was that? U got nearly to 5k in round ups only? How long it took to get there?
I started with 10/month plus round up. However, I had a 26000 life insurance policy from when a loved one passed away. I blew 6000 and put 10000 into acorn and 10000 in sofi in fall 2019
How much have you gained from acorns since then?
How much have you gained since then?
Hey bro, I started investing in Acorns last year October. I have invested a total of $332.68, my invest account is currently value at $203.77, I have also withdrawn $130. My dividends is at $1.33. My portfolio is “moderately aggressive” I don’t know if I’m making money or losing money, I’m pretty brand new into investing. I’m not very knowledgeable about it. If you could comment on this and shed some information about it for me will be awesome bro thank you.
Question when you go down in your stock do you keep track of your lost are do acorn keeps track of that
Acorns. Why would we keep track of that.
LOL. I invested in Acorn too, but made a loss of $11....
I stared a month ago at $5.00 per day. I also stared an IRA at $25. per week.
I’m 50/50 ready with stocks & bonds
What do you think Aspiration invest
Just learning how to invest. I want to invest in cannabis stocks. Does Acorn carry cannabis stocks?
Nice..I like join thru you brother..bit I need your help..I don't know crap about this app.
Nice video. Tommy I have a question, if I invest $300 a month in acorns, how much would I make in a year?
I have about $200 in my invest account and $200 in my Later account and hope to be putting more in it! I also found out if I had $3,000 invested it would cover the $1 fee, so my goal is to at least get it there and then try to make it to $6,000! Is this possible? As long as I keep putting money into this it should be!
Can we get a video on recommend a banks
I honestly don’t understand investing does anyone have a good way to learn? Most of these terms are being lost on me and I really want to learn.
