Nice video. I agree that you chose the right width of blower .When you put the tire chains on, then you can move along with authority. Not sure if your tractor is hydrostatic or gear drive, if it is hydrostatic, lower engine rpms will make the hydrostatic system work harder.
It’s a hydro. I’d wonder if it’s really working any harder at, say, 1700-2000 RPMs. I mean sure, running a snowblower like this at like 800-1200 would be pretty ridiculous, but when she’s at full 540 PTO RPMs that poor Yanmar is just a chooooooochin! I like to leave a little in reserve, and conserve just a smidge of diesel fuel! There’s plenty of power to go around on this little tractor. ✌🏻
This just popped up on my feed, probably because I’ve been watching other tractor snowblower videos. I realize it is from the winter of 22/23, but it’s sure nice to see some real snow (unlike this year). I’m 98% sure that blower is made by RadTech in Quebec, Canada. Other than the colour, it looks identical to the Kubota Canada snowblowers (specifically the K64-24-07), which is made by RadTech. There are some particular features found on both that are typical of the Rad snowblower products. For instance, the deflector with the smooth curve (most other brands are not curved), the adjustable shoes with the unique cutout for the variable positions on the bolts, the hinged cover over the shear bolt, the flare in the sides, the design of the fan - all of these look identical. The good news is that they are excellent snowblowers - they have amazing blowing efficiency and are typically extremely reliable. If you paid $3500 for it, I assume you mean in US$, because in Canada the Kubota version of that blower lists at over Cdn$6k!!
Yep! Our Utah winter so far has been pretty dry. But if it’s anything like last year then we still have 3+ months ahead of us before it’s over! 😩 But I do love deep snow!! 😄
I have a 2038R John Deere tractor, but I have the front mount blower. I love it blow snow great I just don’t like the back mount blower because you always have to keep your head turned to me that’s uncomfortable, but great video.
I would not try to blow snow that has "melted down" and become like an ice cube , you will probably turn that blower into scrap yard material, as long as it is fresh powdery snow and not too wet or "frozen" like concrete it will probably be fine.........and run at full pto speed. (like it is designed to do)😁😁😁
On this one I’d say that it’s subject to the conditions. I don’t intend to run my equipment at maximum speed when it’s not necessary. And won’t be afraid to when needs be. If you’re killing your tractor because the RPMs are too low then yeah, you’re doing it wrong! 😁🤣😆

Equipment is designed to run at recommended PTO speed. Killing the tractor engine or sudden stops are not good........
