Just ordered a Sharpeye 77 in Dark Arts the other day as a good wave counterpart to my IF72 in Dark Arts that’s my daily. I’ve liked the Dark Arts feel so much that I felt like going PU on the 77 would’ve been a major downgrade.

I was assuming they were using pre-preg carbon fiber and vacuum bagged in an autoclave. Not sure why they can justify the cost of a traditional hand lay-up style construction that is identical to a fiberglass lay-up. We were making boards the same way back in 05 after Clark Foam went out for a bit. Cost wasn't nearly as high as the dark art boards. People didn't like them either so we went back to fiberglass.

Would love it if you can get some hands-on time with some of the JT models…Dad bod, jawnt, variant. It’s one thing to say “I know I love the inferno so I’ll get it in DA” but I’ve seen very few that’ve really tried the JT’s

    • @jaimefx

I own a JT Dad bod. I am 5'11, 170 lbs. I can tell you that is by far the best board I've ever ridden. It is explosive, and picks up speed so quick. I got scared because it is also the shortest board I've ever ridden (5'5) but man, that thing is so much fun. After trying this one I can tell you all my future boards will be dark arts as well. Hope that helps!

Do you ever pick a board off the shelf that interests you or your followers and review it for your community? Love your reviews btw - really informative and honest, so no complaints but just wondering how boards 'come up' for review. Cheers R

@@rayon1967 I mostly work with the bigger board brands as it helps surfers worldwide. I bought the Machado Go Fish off the rack at HSS in Huntington Beach when it first came out and did that review. Most boards I review are highly requested and the rest I choose by what I think our community will like and suit them best.

    • @surfnshowreviews7777

It really depends how often you surf and how hard you are on boards. I will trash a stock PU/Poly if I surf it everyday for 30 days. I’m really hard on boards and I pressure dent them pretty bad after 1 session. These Dark Arts pressure dent a lot less and the pop will last a long time compared to a PU/Poly.

Seriously on the nose to tail and the starch elimination,…. so, besides beef/other-ruminants, glandular meats, pig skin (pork fritanga for example), whole sardines in water with skin not skinless (although heads are cut off, liver's usually not in there, but would be best if it was kept), etc.
