Interesting how you are recommended to check with your surgeon to see if it’s ok to tape or not. See the games? One says tape, one never mentions it. One says point your nose in the air and smile, hold for 10 seconds. Do this 3 times a day for 10 reps….the silliness. Standard of care is up to the individual Dr. and results vary. No Dr wants to give u more than u “need” which is up to his individual discretion. Ultimately he doesn’t want to get sued because he gave you too much “good” information you didn’t follow correctly or that hurt u in the long run. This is a great idea, but if he doesn’t recommend it, and u mess up ur nose, he isn’t at fault for it. Even though, it’s probably going to be better for your nose than not. 🤷🏻♂️
my surgeon showed me how to tape also promoted the dissolving solution. i switched to 3M surgical tape as i find its less irritating to the skin - i am taped 23/7 so skin irritation like that for 3 months is not an option - i account for the stretch factor. i use olive oil for other skincare, i find olive oil works fine with tape removal - soak the tape in it before shower - 15 minutes later it peels off.

Ask your own surgeon but typically the answer is yes although flying will increase swelling so we tell our patients to delay unnecessary flights as long as possible and definitely tape for the flight
Hello. I just got my cast off yesterday and my doctor said I didn’t need to tape. I’m nervous not to though. Who do you suggest does not tape? Like which type of patients would be exempt from taping?
We actually prefer patients to minimize the number of times they remove the tape weekly. We recommend changing the tape about twice a week (every 3-4 days). But check with your own surgeon please
If the rhinoplasty was done well, taping can keep the shape and reduce scar tissue and create a better healing. If the nosejob was not done well, taping wont make up for the mistake the plastic surgeon made. If you tape too tight or incorrectly then you can cause problems with the shape.

taping is great - for those who benefit from it. not for everyone. we recommend leaving tape on for 3-4 days at a time and we ask the patient to change the tape themselves that way if they are going to a party or work event and want to be bare and untaped for a little while then they can do it.

@@ella.5793 yes you probably will see benefits but legally we always will tell you to check with your own doctor :)
@@BestPlasticSurgeons thank you! I do have a question though.. I have normal skin I think.. a little bit leaning more to thick skin. Could taping have a negative effect?
@@ella.5793 taping properly is good. taping poorly can have negative effects and cause pinching or depressions
What is the solution for removal?
Detachol
My doctor is huge on taping, but I feel like a little too much. He makes me keep on the tape for the whole week. He doesn’t provide tape, he makes me go to the appointment just for him to change my tape. Is that necessary? Should I ask him that I prefer to tape at nights?
taping is great - for those who benefit from it. not for everyone. we recommend leaving tape on for 3-4 days at a time and we ask the patient to change the tape themselves that way if they are going to a party or work event and want to be bare and untaped for a little while then they can do it.
A week? I have to tape my nose for at least 2 months! Every 5 days change the tape😭
اول از لهجه فهمیدم ایرونین بعد فامیلیتونو دیدم نادریه،عالی😅😂
I find my nose is way too high, the tip is too projected. Should I not tape my tip up? I really want it to drop by a lot, I look too piggy. What would you recommend?
I’m not a doctor but I wouldn’t recommend taping the tip. Just tape the bridge.
Taping with this method would not help the tip drop down. Talk to your doctor.
how long ago did you get your surgery? because that happened to me during my first 6-7 months but then it got normal and beautiful, remember that the process is up to 1 year to see the final results.
@Milly Flores no taping it will keep it up better. the opposite of what you want. you can tape the bridge to reduce swelling but dont tape under the tip. smiling and massaging the tip downward may help a bit but ultimately depends on what your surgeon did. hang in there. avoid haters.
I did my rhinoplasty before 9 days when can i remove the tape just for work and then put it all day long, i will go to work after 15 days from surgery. Thanks
Keep taping at night... You can change every 2-3 days the tape
How many months should we tape our nose, My Doctor said 3 months for 24 hours.
depends on skin thickness and degree of swelling. Between 1-6 months usually. 3 months is good
Can i do this procedure after 5 months of rhinoplasty
Yes but its not as effective as if you had started it right after surgery
Where can I get detach oil anyone ?
Amazon should have Detachol
Hi can I still wear a mask ? If I wear it where the metal part is on my chin ? And I’m taped up underneath
My job still requires we wear a mask
🤦♀️where do you live in south korea? Cuz that people got me crazy with the mask thing . If you use the mask it should be very loose get a big one that do not touch the nose or just get a medical justification that you can't use the mask 😉
I’m removing the tape daily is that normal !?
yes it is, often you have to tape nose at night and remove it in the morning then tape again at night
@@grant8009 but i’m in second week after surgery 🌚
@@miskahmed17 i was doing it like that since i took off the tapes after 5 days. First I had cast on for 5 days, then I had tapes on for another 5 days. After that I took them off, take a one day break and started taping (as my doctor recommended)
it's been 10 months since i had my surgery and my nose is still swollen (kinda big) but it's in a nice shape i asked my dr if it would be smaller in the future he told me that my skin is thick so it will take one and a half year is that possible? im having bad thoughts
also will the tip be smaller than how it is now? would appreciate your answer!
If it's very thick, then yes, it might take a little longer than a year.
I just had mine done and I am wondering if the swelling really does last that long.
@@drinny26 it's different most ppl swelling last for like 3 months and it's fully gone about 6 months but the final nose job result will show up in a year
If y’all want the tip to be more defined after surgery, take accutane for 3 months, if y’all have thick skin, thank me later
For how long should have a tape on nose after a surgery
3-6 months ideally if approved by your own surgeon

No links for detach all
It's called Detachol Adhesive Remover and you can find it on amazon
i use alcohol and it works the same. wet a qtip w alc and kinda “roll it” under the tape, the glue dissolves and the tape comes right out wo any effort
@@valentinfama7797 very smart idea 💡 i was informed to clean the glue after removal using alcohol anyway. I will try this tomorrow when removing tape. I looked this up cuz it hurt bad this morning when removing the tape from my nose 😬
@@dallas218 hi!!! do not pull the tape, that’s a BIG NO, it’ll cause more swelling, what i recommend rlly does work, a q tip w alcohol basically melts the glue away so when u take the tapes off it doesn’t push ur skin w it, kinda roll the q tip underneath the tape and it’ll come off basically by itself!!
@@dallas218 and yes, after taking it off clean ur nose so ur skin is clean and doesn’t swell bc of dirty pores
Sir, I LIVE in Florida 😂
