Another great video I've enjoyed watching every second of it, it's now in my favourite list along with his Son. Thanks once again for taking the time and expense to make this video I'll definitely share it and return to watch it again just like his Son's video. Take care my friend 👍😷👍🏴

@@zimmtex distance and quick passes. Something to practice. I’m loving your vids. I turn and do scroll saw work. Seen this and had never thought about making my own lures. Thanks for the inspiration
I have a tip for you regarding the hot melt glue. In my work I inspect machined parts to a 3d model using a CMM, to speed things up rather than clamping parts to the inspection table we use hot melt glue, if the shape allows. Now here is the tip, put the thinnest amount of IPA on the glue and capillary action draws it between the glue and object releasing the adhesive instantly. Would work a dream for you rather than the microwave plus the glue comes away in a big solid lump so is not messy at all.
Great video , lots of great steps id never thought about on the hot gluing the left over pieces, try Varthane wood hardener , i like it a LOT better than super glue , try it then do a video. I dont do videos , to much inappropriate launguage while working lol
Thanks, I will give it a look. It's great that we live in a time when there are so nany great products out there. I appreciate the tip and thank you for watching.
I like to use both; if I need a really sharp detail like gills, I start with a knife and fine tune with the rotary tool. On large areas a dremel and aggressive bits work great. Thanks for your input and for watching!
I can't say that I would change anything, but I was thinking that I would like to make a flat sided crankbait to compare it with. Thanks for your support!
It's Testors water slide decal paper that you can print on. You'll also need their decal set spray to seal the ink after you print. Thanks for watching!
Think this is a great video fully explaining every detail in how you did this. Bait came out awesome in my opinion. As someone about to take the next step into the lure creating realm, I try to take out the best of what I feel all the folks on UA-cam post. Always try to learn and possibly add my own touch and tweaks to them.
Curious if you have ever tried a flame-polish technique for the plastic lips? Saves a ton of time...Keep up the great work...love the videos and craftsmanship
My personal choice is the minwax poly- Im not a big fan of sealing with the superglue. I havent tried making too many lures with the tape, I prefer to mix some glitter in my Poly- but I do have to say the tape gives a nice look.
Great work. Love your videos! Couple of questions regarding paint. I notice when using Createx (not ink) you put it directly from the bottle. Do you thin it? And what pressure do you spray at? Once again excellent.
I usually add a little thinner to the whole bottle if needed so that it is ready to spray. I have a regulator on my setup so that I can control it better. Depending on what I'm spraying I usually regulate between 20 & 40 psi. Thanks for watching!
Would you be willing to share a link to the particular rotisserie kit you bought as the basis for your drying wheel? I don't see it on your otherwise comprehensive "equipment" list.
I can't find the exact model, but on Amazon there is a Char-Broil Universal and a Dyna-Glo Universal rotisserie kit that look just like the one I used. Thanks for watching!
Love your videos and how amazing the lures turn out. I’ve seen you use what looks like a dremel but is slimmer. Can you share the brand and where you bought that?
What needle/nozzle do you use for your airbrushing? I ordered a set, and it works well, but the spray is so wide and broad that I have a lot of spillover and it ruins the lure.
Nice work ... I would like to see that one as a wake bait...with 1/2" steel ball bearing in it making it a one knocker. seems that would get them saltwater or freshwater.
I have been looking for this tool, but it looks like they don't make it anymore. However, I will keep looking and if I find it I will link it in the description of my videos. Thanks for watching!
Have you considered posting cut out templates of the lures you make? Or even selling the templates? I'd be willing to pay a few bucks for a template of several of the lures you've made and I'm sure I'm not alone there.
Yes sir, I have had several requests for templates. I'm not opposed to it, I just haven't had the time lately. I appreciate your interest and will let you know if I make any progress towards that.
So I have watched about 2 dozen of your videos now, and in every one of them, when you put the baking soda in, and then the drop of super glue, the super glue dissipates throughout the baking soda in about half a second. Whenever I do it- the superglue balls up on top of the baking soda and just sits there and dries up, its frustrating as hell. Is there something else you are doing with the baking soda that makes it suck up the super glue so fast, or is it a special brand of super glue? I started using epoxy instead, and then sanding it off afterwards because i get tired of the superglue making a mess of my lures.
First off, thanks for watching my videos! I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with superglue and baking soda. I don't think I'm doing anything special; the brands I'm using are Arm & Hammer baking soda with Insta-cure glue (the thin version). The only thing I can think of is that your glue might be too thick. What brand of glue are you using?
So, while I'm not unhappy with it, one thing I would like to do is make a flat sided version to compare it to. I'm thinking a flat sided one might swim a little better. I appreciate you watching!
You know, I don't believe I've ever made a laminated wood lure. Really it comes down to having a good seal on the wood. Even a one piece will have problems if water gets into it. Trying things is how discoveries are made, so go for it!
These videos are so good to watch. I sit in the shed and work on lures and just this channel roll. Love it!

Another great video. So glad that you mentioned hook size I always wonder what size hook you are using.
Thanks for watching! I try to be thorough, but sometimes forget.
You can flame polish the lexan edges also and make the look great. Just takes a butane torch
I haven't quite mastered that technique; I keep overdoing it and melting the lexan. Maybe my torch is too hot or too close or something.
