- Turns out that making clothes for other people is kind of a tough thing to do! Especially when I am so used to just making things for myself! being able to try things on really quickly is so much more difficult when the person you are sewing for is kind of elusive and isn't right next to your sewing machine the entire time!
We went to Evermore park in Utah! it was fun, but not the kind of fun where I feel like we need to go every week..... I think you know what I'm talking about. but it was still a good time and something new for me! I had never gone before and its defiantly something worth doing once!
Im getting back in to sewing and creating, and I have some fun fall projects brewing in my studio right now! I can't wait to share with you more of my creative adventures!

I love that you thrift your fabric because you’re right about the fabric ending up in the landfill anyway. The fashion industry is one of the worst polluters and saving some sheets from breaking up into microplastic fibers is a huge help in the fight of cleaning up our earth! Y’all’s outfits ended up wonderful I can’t wait for the next one❤️
Dude thank you!! I use primarily recycled materials for my cosplay! I love knowing that our outfits are well made and will last a lifetime! And if something breaks or rips, I just fix it! 🙌🏽

Yea I don’t love making stuff for my husband or anyone else either because it’s my hobby not a business. So making stuff for me is fun.

I've gotten so good at visualizing just looking at the pieces that I don't even bother with the instructions anymore unless I get stumped because all the instructions do is confuse me most of the time.
We love thrifting fabric when we can! 🌟
normally that's how I am too! but the second I looked at the instructions I think my last brain cell walked out the door, it will be back, but dude I struggled to make this vest come together
So many little bits to comment on in this- ‘The Tim Gunn Principle’ 😂, we love a crafty husband, I justify my collecting habit by keeping satisfying beach rocks by my sewing machine as my ‘pattern weights’, heck yes knife throwing station video, your pattern matching is 👨🍳😘 he looks really rich for thrufted polyester and ooohhh in several years a before and after of all the bits you added to your costume would be delightful (now that you’re a mom will we get tiny costumes to fawn over?)

I was sewing a simplicity pattern together for my Halloween costume, ugh. It was supposed to be too big with the size i chose to make, but it only over lapped at the back . So I ended up adding a piece to the side and making it work. Wrote on the pattern paper to add to the side.
this happens to me all the time!!! good for you for making a note on the pattern paper! if I don't write myself notes, then I forget and continue to make the same mistakes!
I've never understood why Simplicity patterns have such horrible instructions. Like... isn't this supposed to be... simple?

Simply patterns have such a range when it comes to thier difficulty level! Sometimes they really are super easy and other times it’s like trying to decode military secrets 😂

Loved how the tunic turned out! We went to Evermore during the Aurora events they do during the winter. It would be fun to try and do one of their DND events, but those are kind of pricey haha. Happy crafting!
I feel like most of their “special” events are out of my budget 😅 and it’s a long drive from my house to evermore, I don’t know if I’ll ever go back, but we had a really good time!

Just a hint...when i know i will be using a pattern multiple times i transfer it to some interfacing ( i buy at least 50% off). Hope this helps.
