I reached the “fuck it” moment. I have severe health anxiety, diagnosed MDD, GAD, Panic Disorder and OCD. So today is day 3 of lexapro 10mg. I take it in the morning, and the only thing I am noticing so far is I wake up around 2-3am and cannot go back to sleep for about 2 hours unless I take a Xanax then I will fall back to sleep within 30 minutes.

Thank you for sharing your story. I just started Lexapro yesterday. My psychiatrist put me on 5mg. I’m nervous about this, but I look forward to potentially seeing change.
Hello, I am right with you. My physician placed me on Lexapro three days ago 5 mg. I am nervous to start, but I can say, after listening to her share her story I do feel better we got this!
Thank you for sharing your story and experience taking antidepressants! People have too many biases regarding medication which could actually change their life for better.
I appreciate this video. I have had anxiety all my life. I can go back and tell you even how I felt in kindergarten. I can even tell you the night mares I had at 7 and I’m 28 years old…. I finally decided to go to a doctor to start this whole process atter begging myself for 6 months I finally made an appointment. I just want to stay in bed and never come out. I’m so scared
Me too, I have memories of being 8-9 years old and having a panic attack in assembly. My anxiety as a teenager was way to high. How I have lived in fear and scared of everything it’s been horrible
I have had a long road finding a good therapist as well. And as you said, the effort and the presence of mind to know if the therapist is working for you or not, is so so difficult when you’re really struggling. We have to keep being determined to help ourselves. It’s not easy!
Omg we sound a like on everything!!! I jyst started Lexapro was scare but what i got to loose so started again 5mg i was on zoloft now 4 days in waiting for it to kick in
Thank You for this video. I am AA I am on lexapro for the 2nd time. My brain was out of control. I felt like I was losing my mind. Finally my brain is quiet…
After one week and upping to 10mg yesterday, I already see changes. Small, but I see them. Yesterday I had a trigger and I didn't spiral into my dark, aggressive thoughts and my body didn't clench. My anxiety is very defensive and damaging to my body from all that negative thoughts and it was a miracle to me that I was able to rationalize and let go. After one f-ing week!! Yeah, why didn't I do this before? 😅 Can't wait to see more positive changes. 😇 As I'm writing, I'm about to go to work and I feel my stomach and my heart, but it's a little bit lighter than just few days ago. And it makes me hopefull this thing is going to make changes I need. I'm not capable to do it myself and I needed this help from this little pill. Who ever invented it, bless you, my man. 😁
I always am amazed at how one little pill changed my life. It was crazy. I kept realizing that normal people don't live in fear like i did. Im so glad to hear you are seeing improvements!
I started therapy weeks after I started having anxiety. The therapist did not help me at all. I used to call her my gossip lady 😂😂. She wouldn’t pick my brain.. I would ask questions and got answers that were so vague. Ugh 😑 I got discouraged and did not put the effort on finding another one.
Finding the right fit can take time, but it's worth the effort to keep searching for someone who truly understands and helps you. Don't give up on therapy altogether - the right therapist can make a world of difference.
Wow!! This is me right now and just called my Dr to start anxiety meds after refusing. Going back to therapy after saying I didn’t need it. Then I see this video. Thank you!!
I just started 3 days ago. The only bad side effect I have is not being able to sleep it's driving me crazy. But I keep hearing good things about it especially for social anxiety. I'm going to try to stick with it...
I’m not a doctor, but switching when you take it can help with side effects. Like taking it at night vs in the morning. It helped me with the drowsiness, but everyone is different.
The doctor gave me also clozepam to take with. Like 3 drops at night and I feel better bcs of clonazepam which is Calming. Cause Lexapro gives more anxiety at first
Don't even start meds, as harmless as they seem, they are not. Look for natural remedies, those meds are neurotoxins that are damaging your liver and kidneys, there are so many foods, herbs , meditation, psychotherapy, try everything but meds, they only hurt you in the long run
I m on my 4th day now. Today I just felt dizzy and weak all day long. It is very hard to concentrate and work. Also teeth and jaw clenching is kind of driving me crazy.
Thanks for this Mars…I have a fear of the fear of taking medication because I’ve heard horror stories and then you have to taper slowly. But I think I am a life longer because of severe chronic illnesses …i cant cope anymore.

The thing is that when they tell you to consider medication is because by what you tell them ecc they would probably think .. you need a medicine because the way they see you and hear what you say ec.. but yeah you need to try more n more before u find Ecc
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! You are a blessing! Did you ever imagine that you could feel the way you felt when you were dealing with anxiety? Was it like feeling normal again, like a new you?

I don't think I'd be able go through therapy because it's costly and I just don't have time, but I found it can be a huge release just to talk about it with the right person.
It sounds like you're taking a brave step forward in prioritizing your mental health. It's completely understandable to feel hesitant about medication, but it's important to explore options that can help you feel better. Talking about your feelings, whether with a therapist or a trusted person in your life, can indeed be incredibly beneficial. I was on 10mg of Lexapro for 6 weeks and found that it wasn’t working. My doctor then put me on 20mg of Lexapro and after about 3 weeks I felt it was definitely working. Most of the time, a doctor will start you off on the lowest dose, then increase the dose if you need more.
