Madagascar, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa and Monsters Vs Aliens - films that don’t always get the respect and appreciation that they deserve, but they’re still childhood favourites of mine. Wallace & Gromit: The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit, Over The Hedge and Megamind - Amazing humour and probably the best I’ve seen in Dreamworks Animation’s films. Flushed Away, Shrek The Third, Bee Movie and Shrek Forever After - Films that I liked as a child, but films that I don’t think have aged well in the more recent years. Kung Fu Panda and How To Train Your Dragon - The crowning achievements of the studio’s second era.

Four Eras of DreamWorks Animation: Pre-Universal Era (1998-2017) •DreamWorks SKG Era (1998-2005) •Paramount Era (2006-2012) •Fox Era (2013-2017) Universal Era (2019-present)
Flushed Away may not be have the same Aardman charm, but it has it's own charm. I really like the action scenes, voice performers and the various Dreamworks and Aardman easter eggs. Also, I'm not a furry, but damn Roddy is kinda hot
My ranking 1: the original how to train your dragon 2:Megamind 3:Kung fu panda 1 4:Shrek Forever After 5:Madagascar escape 2 Africa 6:Over the Hedge 7:Wallace and Gromit the curse of the were rabbit 8.The original Madagascar 1 9:Bee movie 10: Monsters vs Aliens 11: Flushed Away 12:Shrek the third.
Madagascar and Over the Hedge are by FARRR my favorites on this list... i think it is because i am a HUGE animal lover and animals movie lover as well. I am from Brazil and the Brazilian Portuguese versions of these movies ARE so good... Fun Fact: Here, both Alex from Madagascar and Hammy the Squirrel from Over the Hedge share the SAME voice actor the incredible "Alexandre Moreno" (he voices Wallace as well...)
So I just realized that I never posted my ratings for this era. Here they are: 12: Monsters vs Aliens (A dull and lifeless superhero origin story with a cast of annoying characters, 2/10) 11: Shrek the Third (Had a decent premise which was severely bogged down by juvenile humor and a lack of meaningful character interactions, 3/10) 10: Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (An enjoyable comedy with way too many uncooked subplots going on at once, 4/10) 9: Madagascar (A perfectly serviceable comedy that relies too much on pop culture jokes, 5/10) 8: Over the Hedge (Creative heist movie that plays into the liar reveal far too much for my liking, 6/10) 7: Bee Movie (A hilariously stupid movie that makes good work of its idiotic premise and falls apart in the climax, 7/10) 6: Flushed Away (Insanely funny and creative heist with some rather awkward bookends to the movie, 8/10) 5: Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit (A simple yet engaging spoof of monster movies that never feels like it's wasting time, 8/10) 4: Shrek Forever After (A great return to form from the previous blunder and an emotionally charged sendoff to a good franchise, 9/10) 3: How to Train Your Dragon (It's like Lilo and Stitch, but with a few annoying side characters and some grand action set pieces, 9/10) 2: Kung Fu Panda (A deep and engaging kung fu film with some really great themes about imposter syndrome and self-worth, 9/10) 1: Megamind (A funny, yet thought-provoking subversion of the classic superhero genre, 10/10)
My personal ranking 1. Madagascar 2. Megamind 3. Kung fu panda 4. Madagascar 2 5. How to train your Dragon 6. Wallace and Gromit 7. Over the hedge 8. Flushed away 9. Bee movie 10. Shrek forever after 11. Monsters vs aliens 12. Shrek the third
The way I would rank the films of this Era worst to best would be: Tie of Bee Movie, Over the Hedge,, and Shrek 3 & 4 at the bottom, 8. Madagascar, 7. Madagascar Escape 2 Africa, 6. Monsters vs Aliens, 5. Flushed Away, 4. How to Train Your Dragon, 3. Kung Fu Panda, 2. Megamind, 1. Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
In the 2nd Madagascar film I really like the extended African Savannah wilderness of Tanzania and in the distance lies the mighty volcano "Mount Kilimanjaro".
Flushed away was my childhood film and i never liked it as a child (my dad watched it so much that we beat up our original DVD case) But now I consider it one of my favorite films of all time. I guess it left this weird impression on me over time. It really is a great movie, I just never really realized it for the longest time
Great List. And Don't Worry About Me, I'll Wait For Part 3. This Is My Ranking Bad: 12. Shrek 3 Meh: 11. Bee Movie Good: 10. Madagascar 2 9. Shrek 4 8. Over The Hedge 7. Monsters VS Aliens Great: 6. 2005 which were begins DreamWorks is going out of business lost a lot of money because they have to save money so I have to look for another studio to help them which is pair my pictures is going to distribute the films to Paramount which means Paramount pictures helped DreamWorks in 2006 so which means if the phones are being distributed they have to put Nickelodeon trailers on to DreamWorks DVDs my favorite is DreamWorks Paramount pictures era it basically had a rocky start as the movies progressed it's kind of been awesome despite rise of the guardians not making the best success and it's still the best movie in my opinion.
Madagascar will always be my number 1. I watched it so many times on DVD as a kid, that when I got bored of it I watched it in all the other available language options. Multiple times. Man, I'm a psycho.
1) How to train your dragon 2) Kung Fu Panda 3) Megamind 4) Wallace and Gromit: The curse of the Wererabbit 5) Madagascar 2 6) Over The Hedge 7) Flushed Away 8) Madagascar 9) Shrek Forever After 10) Monsters Vs Aliens 11) Bee Movie 12) Shrek The Third
I think Flushed Away is a good movie for anybody who likes both cg animation and claymation. As an Aardman fan I can see why most people think it’s meteocre (IDK how to spell that word). It has poor animation and maybe you are not used to Aardman making CGI animation. But that’s just your opinion some people may like Flushed Away like me. But that’s just my opinion
Fun fact: Flushed Away was suppoted to be animated in stop-motion, but they changed to CGI because the amount of water would made it difficult to animated in stop-motion
1. How to Train Your Dragon 2. Kung Fu Panda 3. Megamind 4. Madagascar 2 5. Shrek Forever After 6. Madagascar 7. Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit 8. Flushed Away 9. Over the Hedge 10. Monsters VS Aliens 11. Bee Movie 12. Shrek the Third
My personal list: #13 Shrek The Third #12 Monsters vs Aliens #11 Over The Hedge (was'nt the biggest fan of it on rewatch) #10 Madagascar #9 Flushed Away #8 Shrek Forever After #7 Madagascar 2: Escape Africa #6 Bee Movie (it's a guilty pleasure) #5 Kung Fu Panda #4 Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the were-rabbit #3 Megamind #2 Shrek 2 #1 How to Train Your Dragon
Here's my ranking based on my knowledge: 12: Shrek the Third 11: Bee Movie 10: Shrek Forever After 9: Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa 8: Flushed Away 7: Over the Hedge 6: Monsters vs Aliens 5: Madagascar 4: Megamind 3: Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit 2: Kung Fu Panda 1: How to Train your Dragon
By the way, My favorite is Madagascar, Wallace and gromit the curse of the wererabbit, over the Hedge, flushed away! And my least favorite Shrek the third, Shrek forever after, and that's it.
12. Shrek the Third 11. Monsters Vs Aliens 10. Madagascar 9. Madagascar 2 8. Flushed Away 7. Bee Movie 6. Over The Hedge 5. Shrek: Forever After 4. Wallace and Gromit 3. Megamind 2. Kung Fu Panda 1. How to Train Your Dragon
Here's my ranking. 1. How To Train Your Dragon - No doubt, the best of the second era. Still giving me goosebumps everytime I watch it. 2. Kung Fu Panda - The animation and the story hyped me up. The animation, the choreography fights, the soundtrack is so memorable. Definitely worth watching. 3. Megamind - An enjoyable film without a doubt. The comedy is so good and the fights are so memorable. 4. Madagascar - One of my childhood movies no doubt. Still enjoyable until now, it gave me moments about my childhood whenever I watch this film. 5. Shrek Forever After - An improvement after Shrek The Third, which is probably the weakest Shrek film, but it's not as impactful as the first 2 films. 6. Madagascar Escape 2 Africa - A good sequel. Not as bad as the first Madagascar but it's still a good one. 7. Over The Hedge - It's a good one. The story and the characters are nice, the villain is a good one, but it didn't gave me the impact. 8. Flushed Away - Surprisingly funny and enjoyable. Some moments made me burst into laughter, and the slugs are the spotlight in this film. 9. Wallace and Gromit The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit - It's alright. Maybe I didn't grow up watching Wallace and Gromit that's why it's kinda low. But still an okay film. 10. Monsters vs Aliens - Boring honestly. It's not that bad, the villain is forgettable, but it's easily the most forgettable film. 11. Shrek The Third - The weakest Shrek film of all. It kinda saddens me that the Shrek franchise kinda went downhill because of this film. 12. Bee Movie - The plot is super confusing. And let's be honest, the girl in this film doesn't make any sense. Am I the only one who feels bad for Ken in this one? Patrick Warburton still is a great voice actor though. But this isn't the film for him.
My Ranked - Second Era (2005-2010) 12. Over the Hedge 11. Bee Movie 10. Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit 9. Flushed Away 8. Monsters Vs. Aliens 7. Shrek Forever After 6. Shrek the Third 5. Megamind 4. Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa 3. How to Train Your Dragon 2. Kung Fu Panda 1. Madagascar
My guess for DreamWorks era 3: Kung Fu Panda 2 Puss in Boots Madagascar 3: Europe Most Wanted Rise of the Guardians The Croods Turbo Mr. Peabody & Sherman How to Train Your Dragon 2 Penguins of Madagascar
Kinda surprised to find Megamind above Kung fu panda, they're both fantastic movies and I still love that both are really high in this list. HTTYD is one of the best animated movie of all time, Monsters vs aliens one of the worst of all time, Wallace and Gromit one of the charmiest. The rest range from "painfully bad" to "pretty good even if not the best thing in the world"... yeah, kinda a weird period for Dreamworks.

Personally despite what a disaster shrek the third was, a lot of the jokes still really landed for me. “I feel all exposes and nasty!” Donkey and puss body swapping was brilliant I thought!

My own personal-favorites list would put Megamind at 3 and Kung Fu Panda at 2, but beyond that, I don't have a quarrel with this ranking. Agree, HTTYD is the best.
My Personal Ranking: 1: 🇲🇬Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa🇿🇦 (Hilarious!!!😂🤣) 2: Monsters VS. Aliens👽👽 (Hilarious!!!😂🤣) 3: MegaMind🧠 (Hilarious!!!😂🤣) 4: Kung Fu Panda🐼🇨🇳 (Awesome!!) 5: How to Train Your Dragon🐲🐉 (Awesome!!) 6: 🇲🇬Madagascar (Great!) 7: Shrek Forever After (Great!) 8: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit🐰🐇 (Good) 9: 🚽Flushed Away (Good) 10: Shrek the Third (Meh) 11: 🍯Bee Movie (Bad) 12: Over the Hedge (Awful!!)
Haven't seen either "Flushed Away" or "Monsters vs. Aliens," so I've got nothing on them. As for the rest, at least from what I remember: "Shrek the Third" was hit or miss, and "Shrek Forever After" served as a fair conclusion to the franchise (not counting the Puss in Boots spinoffs), "Bee Movie" was decent especially with the environmental message at the end, "Curse of the Were-Rabbit," "Over the Hedge," and both "Madagascar" films were all really fun, "Kung Fu Panda" and "How to Train Your Dragon" were both excellent on their own and as launchpads for their respective franchises, and "Megamind" is an underrated gem, as well as my personal favorite of this set.
12. Not the best movie I'll admit but I do think it's kinda fun to watch and I especially enjoyed all the memes it generated. 11. Didn't watch. 10. Definitely a flop, compared to the other Shrek films. 9. Vaguely remember, I watched it in the theater when I was younger but I honestly don't remember much of it. 8. Not as bad as the third but yeah, also pretty weak compared to the first 2 Shrek films. 7. A pretty fun movie, I enjoyed it when I was younger. 6. I didn't watch it as often as the first but I remember enjoying it too. 5. An underrated classic. I still love that film to this day. 4. Vaguely remember, like Chicken Run I also watched this film at a school holiday party but don't remember much of it now. 3. A truly great film that I've enjoyed revisiting as an adult. 2. A great film that I didn't expect to enjoy as much as I did. 1. One of my favorite films of all time. Enough said.
I've seen all of these apart from Megamind and How to train your dragon: 10: Bee Movie 9: Flushed away 8: Monsters vs aliens 7: Shrek Forever after 6 Madagascar 5: Over the hedge 4: Madagascar escape 2 Africa 3: Kung fu panda 2: Shrek the Third 1: Wallace and Gromit curse of the were rabbit
Here's my general consensus Madagascar: The best one but still kinda just ok Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Wererabbit: Have not seen it but will definitely check it out Over the Hedge: An underrated gem Flushed Away: Another hidden gem but even more underrated Shrek the Third: no Bee Movie: It's a good meme movie but on its own it's just kinda mediocre Kung Fu Panda: The entire reason why I love pandas Madagascar 2: I think it's still okay but worse than the first Monsters vs Aliens: again. no. How to Train Your Dragon: So good I saw it twice before home media release Shrek Forever After: A fanfiction film. AHHHHH Megamind: A cinematic classic
I honestly do Not get why you would place bee movie lower then shrek the third while bee movie is a very weird and bizarre film it’s either a bizarre but good film or just a so bad it’s good film I unironically really like it and I just found it really funny and entertaining I mean the basic plot of the film is that bees are suing the human race because of them basically stealing there honey while Barry is in a weird but nice love story with the main human character while shrek 3 has basically nothing good it’s either a boringly bad film for people who haven’t seen the previous films or a irritatingly terrible film for those who have bee movie is just dumb fun I was weirded out when I first watched it but I slowly got into it with me just having fun with the weirdness I can understand if your not into it because of it’s weird and wacky ness but I unironically really liked it it’s just dumb fun Also flushed away really didn’t deserve to be that low either I honestly feel disappointed that you treated that film dirty even if it is just your opinion since flushed away is just really good and funny
Flushed Away is my favorite, but I think you have to have a certain kind of humor to fully appreciate it. Nice mix of puns, droleness and British humor but not everyone's cup of tea
Here's my DreamWorks Golden Age Ranking And my number 1 DreamWorks Movie on this list is... Kung Fu Panda: Kung Fu Panda is freaking, Awesome. Everything about it is great. The Kung Fu's excellent, the characters are funny and memorable, the story's amazing, and I think the animation's cool. One thing I like about this one is that unlike the other films, it does have a balance between the lightheartedness and serious moments. Which I can't for the other films but that's not the point, what matters is is that KFP1's my favorite on this list. Nuff said 2) How To Train Your Dragon: I love the How To Train Your Dragon Series, while I don't love it as much as the other DreamWorks franchise, I still have a fondness with the First two movies and Race to the Edge. However, while I do love the animation and characters, I think the story was cliched. I feel like Hiccup & Astrid's relationship was forced and I just think Stoack was a bland father because of him being the strong fatherly type who isn't proud of his son. Thankfully, this was fixed in the CN series Riders of Berk/Defenders of Berk, and the other later installment of the series. Nevertheless, I still think the first movie's amazing (Even with it's flaws), both from nostalgia's sake and for how amazing it is. That's why it's #2 on this list and not #1. 3) the Wallace & Gromit Movie: this is the best Aardman movie ever made (well, on DreamWorks' catelog, Shaun The Sheep Movie would've easily taken it's place). That's all... ok look I'm not a Wallace & Gromit person, but I do know they're Aardman's best. Curse of the Were-Rabbit's entertaining, and has a lot of layers into it. It's under the last two on this list, because I do think it has some problems like giving Wallace a love interest (When he already has one) and the main villain being a jealous prick. In fact I completely forgot the main villain's name. It's still the best Aardman movie during their partnership with DreamWorks. 4) Madagascar Escape 2 Africa: Ah yes, the Best Madagascar movie. This movie improves on the first film and has an emotional and deeper story compared to later films. The funnier moments in this are still funnier today the story's felt connected to all 13 of the main characters along with the 2nd film exclusive characters (Except Moto Moto), and I felt like the movie has a perfect balance between the comedy and drama. Escape 2 Africa's my favorite Tom McGrath movie and it shows. Of course, there's Moto Moto, and my thoughts on him is that he's "big..." and "chunky..." in a good way. I heard most people prefer the third one and the spin off film, but unlike those 2 films this one actually felt like a movie, and not some saturday morning cartoon.... oh shit... still, it's amazing. 5) Shrek Forever After The Final Chapter: While it isn't on par with the First two movies and it's certainly not one of DreamWorks' Best, Shrek 4's still better then Shrek 3 to an extent. For one thing, the humor's improved compare to what Shrek 3 gave us, and the writing felt like it's a love letter to all things Shrek, while also telling an original story. This movie's the more emotional one out of the Quanology, and it shows. I love the alternate version of Fiona, I think Rumpelstilksten's a great antagonist, and the story's really good. I don't have any problems with Shrek 4, but I'll probably won't watch it again until i finished watching the First 3 movies again. Now we reached the Top 5 And 6) Madagascar: Madagascar 1's a great film, it has everything when it comes to the series' lore, characters, and sense of humor. The story's excellent, the characters are entertaining, and there's a balance between emotional moments and funny moments. The only problem I have with it is the animation, this film has a completely different animation style compared to the other Madagascar films, here it focuses on slapstick humor then the regular style the films would later have starting with the 2nd movie. And before anyone asks, no Mort's not death itself (His given name's actually Mortedcai and he's 50 years old), he doesn't consume other Mouse Lemurs (He absorbs his other selfs and relatives) and he's not immortal (There's only 1 evidence that he's immortal but that photo shows 2 Mouse Lemurs instead of 1. Plus he's 50 years old according to the directors themselves). With that said, while it's the 2nd film that Eric Darnell co-directed (Eric Darnell directed Antz btw), this was the first film to be directed by Tom McGrath, and I just gotta say, he's my favorite DreamWorks director, EVER. And Madagascar shows what Tom McGrath's capable of. 7) Megamind: I don't think the movie's awesome as what other UA-camrs think, but I still love it. My thoughts on Megamind creates a Catch 22, because one hand, it does make fun of Superhero films at the time while still being it's own deeper film as the other Dreamworks films (Minus Bee Movie) on this list, but on the other hand, some of the jokes aren't funny like in 2010 and there's the fact that it's not a subversive masterpiece like other UA-camrs say when it comes to this film, but it's atleast better then the Underdog movie. I know it isn't Despicable Me, and even though I think Tom McGrath is my favorite DreamWorks director, I do think Megamind isn't as great as the first two Madagascar films, but I think it's still one of the best films he's ever made, and it's way better then any of the Boss Baby films, so for what it's worth I Love Megamind, i just think there's movies that are better then this. 8) Monsters Vs Aliens: 🎵Monsters Vs Aliens, it's us, versus men, foe, versus friend, brain, versus bob, it's a super, freaky joooob🎵 Sorry I got a little carried away *Ahem* Monsters Vs Aliens isn't bad, infact i enjoy it. Granted some of the fight scenes aren't good, but I say it isn't as bad as what people think. Personally i prefer the tv show of the same name and shit, but for what it's worth, the Monsters Vs Aliens Movie, is a good film imo. 9) Over the Hedge: Over the Hedge is fine I guess. I don't have a fond memory of it unlike most Dreamworks films, but I did like the soundtrack, enjoyed the bear, and I love the Quicksilver scene in this because it's the first and yadayada. 10) Flushed Away: Now this is interesting. I don't have anything bad to say about Flushed Away, but I do think it's not as good as the other Aardman Films. It still looks like a Aardman film, it just doesn't seem like a Aardman film. That's all I can say. 11) Shrek the Third: While it isn't one of the worst Dreamworks movies, i still don't like it. It does have it's moments (I liked the conversation between Shrek and Arthur. And the Disney Princess I mean Fairy Tale Princesses becoming badass was Awesome). But, most of the jokes were unfunny, Charming isn't as funny without his mom, and I think Donkey and Puss in Boots's subplot was pointless. What I find it interesting is that originally, the High School Arthur goes to was supposed to be the main setting for Shrek the Third, and there were concepts and storyboards that can be found in the deleted scenes in the DVD & Blu-Ray copy, or added in the Shrek 3 Movie Tie-in Game. Maybe if those concepts and ideas were included we could've had a good movie, and I think there was a good movie in there, it's just that Shrek 3's... bad. 12) Bee Movie: Do I even have to say it! The movie's garbage, the jokes are terrible, it doesn't have a plot, Jerry Senfield Bee sucks, and above all, It shouldn't have happened in the first place! The only reason why Bee Movie exists, is because Jerry Senfield was making a joke with Stephen Speilburg at lunch. The movie wasn't supposed to happen! The only thing that made it so popular is the countless memes this movie gets, but despite all that, this movie, sucks, it's safe to say, that Bee Movie's the Worst. Yes, even worse then Shark Tale.
It’s so hard to believe that both dreamworks and illumination are owned by the same company nowadays. They almost go hand in hand I feel like. Personally I don’t think illumination is as bad as a lot of people make them out to be. Just very misguided…
To say that I despise Shrek 4 is an understatement. I can never watch it again. Best is Kung Fu Panda, it did such a great job balancing silly humor with serious moments and great action! Followed close behind it is Curse Of The Were-Rabbit and How To Train Your Dragon
THIS was the era that I primarily grew up with. Lots of nostalgia here.
Same
Especially with the flims distributed by Paramount
Same, i got introduced to Dreamworks the year this era started
I remember all those movies my favorite was kung fu panda. 🥋🐼
This was truely their golden age and, aside from _Shrek: Forever After_ not being a little higher, agreed completely with your order of preference.
Well that, and _Shrek the Third_ Should've been lower than _Flushed Away._
I think Monsters vs Aliens has gained a cult following in more recent times.
@@bighand1530 I agree.
@@AnaandVerity1259 Somehow, I’m not surprised.
So many great films in this era. I’d say Wallace and Gromit and How to Train Your Dragon are my favourites.

Agreed
One of the best eras of dreamworks!
Agreed
Megamind deserves all the love it didn’t get when it was first released. I love that movie and it’s witty humor!
Better than despicable me.
100%!
I haven't gotten a chance to see Megamind yet. Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon are sooo good. Two of my favorite movies period. And their sequels are excellent as well.
That's my favourite Era of Dreamworks

Absolutely incredible video! Dreamworks are making even when their movies aren’t quite to that usual standard.

Four Eras of DreamWorks Animation:
Pre-Universal Era (1998-2017)
•DreamWorks SKG Era (1998-2005)
•Paramount Era (2006-2012)
•Fox Era (2013-2017)
Universal Era (2019-present)
Flushed Away is my favorite Dreamworks film. Brilliant British humor, drole and pun humor. Just hits my funnybone perfectly.
Been a while since I have seen that movie
Flushed Away may not be have the same Aardman charm, but it has it's own charm. I really like the action scenes, voice performers and the various Dreamworks and Aardman easter eggs. Also, I'm not a furry, but damn Roddy is kinda hot
My ranking
1: the original how to train your dragon
2:Megamind

Madagascar and Over the Hedge are by FARRR my favorites on this list... i think it is because i am a HUGE animal lover and animals movie lover as well. I am from Brazil and the Brazilian Portuguese versions of these movies ARE so good... Fun Fact: Here, both Alex from Madagascar and Hammy the Squirrel from Over the Hedge share the SAME voice actor the incredible "Alexandre Moreno" (he voices Wallace as well...)
My favorite films are Wallace and Gromit, Madagascar, Flushed Away, Over the Hedge and Bee Movie
Thanks for the video Dave it has been a long time since I talked to you
Megamind is a knockout! I would love a proper theatrical sequel to it someday although it may not ever happen…
So I just realized that I never posted my ratings for this era. Here they are:
12: Monsters vs Aliens (A dull and lifeless superhero origin story with a cast of annoying characters, 2/10)
11: Shrek the Third (Had a decent premise which was severely bogged down by juvenile humor and a lack of meaningful character interactions, 3/10)
10: Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (An enjoyable comedy with way too many uncooked subplots going on at once, 4/10)
9: Madagascar (A perfectly serviceable comedy that relies too much on pop culture jokes, 5/10)
8: Over the Hedge (Creative heist movie that plays into the liar reveal far too much for my liking, 6/10)
7: Bee Movie (A hilariously stupid movie that makes good work of its idiotic premise and falls apart in the climax, 7/10)
6: Flushed Away (Insanely funny and creative heist with some rather awkward bookends to the movie, 8/10)
5: Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit (A simple yet engaging spoof of monster movies that never feels like it's wasting time, 8/10)
4: Shrek Forever After (A great return to form from the previous blunder and an emotionally charged sendoff to a good franchise, 9/10)
3: How to Train Your Dragon (It's like Lilo and Stitch, but with a few annoying side characters and some grand action set pieces, 9/10)
2: Kung Fu Panda (A deep and engaging kung fu film with some really great themes about imposter syndrome and self-worth, 9/10)
1: Megamind (A funny, yet thought-provoking subversion of the classic superhero genre, 10/10)
Great ranking, thanks for the effort!!!

7. Madagascar Escape 2 Africa,
6. Monsters vs Aliens,
5. Flushed Away,
4. How to Train Your Dragon,
3. Kung Fu Panda,
2. Megamind,
1. Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
In the 2nd Madagascar film I really like the extended African Savannah wilderness of Tanzania and in the distance lies the mighty volcano "Mount Kilimanjaro".
Again Shrek is Love, Shrek is life! Even in Shrek The Third!
Finally a part 2 I waited ages for this
It was only a month. Part 3 will be next month.
Flushed away was my childhood film and i never liked it as a child (my dad watched it so much that we beat up our original DVD case)
But now I consider it one of my favorite films of all time. I guess it left this weird impression on me over time. It really is a great movie, I just never really realized it for the longest time
I might give the movie another go. Been a while since I have seen it
I Love how to train your dragon!

Hey there Dave. Happy Saturday!
Shrek wins immediately!
Just my opinion
Can’t go wrong with Shrek

I think Flushed Away is a good movie for anybody who likes both cg animation and claymation. As an Aardman fan I can see why most people think it’s meteocre (IDK how to spell that word). It has poor animation and maybe you are not used to Aardman making CGI animation. But that’s just your opinion some people may like Flushed Away like me. But that’s just my opinion
Fun fact: Flushed Away was suppoted to be animated in stop-motion, but they changed to CGI because the amount of water would made it difficult to animated in stop-motion
Over The Hedge is my favorite (no bias or anything)
1. How to Train Your Dragon
2. Kung Fu Panda

1. How to Train Your Dragon
I’d switch kungfu panda and httyd but other than that it’s basically my list.
I actually didn’t notice the “May Contain Nuts” until now
Here's my ranking.
My Ranked - Second Era (2005-2010)

My guess for DreamWorks era 3:
Kung Fu Panda 2
Puss in Boots
Madagascar 3: Europe Most Wanted
Rise of the Guardians
The Croods
Turbo
Mr. Peabody & Sherman
How to Train Your Dragon 2
Penguins of Madagascar
Kinda surprised to find Megamind above Kung fu panda, they're both fantastic movies and I still love that both are really high in this list. HTTYD is one of the best animated movie of all time, Monsters vs aliens one of the worst of all time, Wallace and Gromit one of the charmiest. The rest range from "painfully bad" to "pretty good even if not the best thing in the world"... yeah, kinda a weird period for Dreamworks.

made silver age of dreamworks animation third era 2011-2017
It’s out now
Haven't seen either "Flushed Away" or "Monsters vs. Aliens," so I've got nothing on them.
As for the rest, at least from what I remember:
"Shrek the Third" was hit or miss, and "Shrek Forever After" served as a fair conclusion to the franchise (not counting the Puss in Boots spinoffs), "Bee Movie" was decent especially with the environmental message at the end, "Curse of the Were-Rabbit," "Over the Hedge," and both "Madagascar" films were all really fun, "Kung Fu Panda" and "How to Train Your Dragon" were both excellent on their own and as launchpads for their respective franchises, and "Megamind" is an underrated gem, as well as my personal favorite of this set.
While I do like Monsters vs Aliens, I’m probably a bigger fan of Susan/Ginormica (The 50 foot tall woman) than the actual movie itself.
12. Not the best movie I'll admit but I do think it's kinda fun to watch and I especially enjoyed all the memes it generated.

I've seen all of these apart from Megamind and How to train your dragon:
10: Bee Movie
9: Flushed away
8: Monsters vs aliens
7: Shrek Forever after
6 Madagascar
5: Over the hedge
4: Madagascar escape 2 Africa
3: Kung fu panda
2: Shrek the Third
1: Wallace and Gromit curse of the were rabbit
Confirmed: Dave does not like Jazz... :p
🤣🤣🤣
Here's my general consensus
Madagascar: The best one but still kinda just ok
Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Wererabbit: Have not seen it but will definitely check it out
Over the Hedge: An underrated gem
Flushed Away: Another hidden gem but even more underrated
Shrek the Third: no
Bee Movie: It's a good meme movie but on its own it's just kinda mediocre
Kung Fu Panda: The entire reason why I love pandas
Madagascar 2: I think it's still okay but worse than the first
Monsters vs Aliens: again. no.
How to Train Your Dragon: So good I saw it twice before home media release
Shrek Forever After: A fanfiction film. AHHHHH
Megamind: A cinematic classic
I honestly do Not get why you would place bee movie lower then shrek the third while bee movie is a very weird and bizarre film it’s either a bizarre but good film or just a so bad it’s good film I unironically really like it and I just found it really funny and entertaining I mean the basic plot of the film is that bees are suing the human race because of them basically stealing there honey while Barry is in a weird but nice love story with the main human character while shrek 3 has basically nothing good it’s either a boringly bad film for people who haven’t seen the previous films or a irritatingly terrible film for those who have bee movie is just dumb fun I was weirded out when I first watched it but I slowly got into it with me just having fun with the weirdness I can understand if your not into it because of it’s weird and wacky ness but I unironically really liked it it’s just dumb fun
Also flushed away really didn’t deserve to be that low either I honestly feel disappointed that you treated that film dirty even if it is just your opinion since flushed away is just really good and funny
As you pointed out - this is just my own opinion. If yours is different, that’s great.
Flushed Away is my favorite, but I think you have to have a certain kind of humor to fully appreciate it. Nice mix of puns, droleness and British humor but not everyone's cup of tea
Nice video Dave👍👍👍
How to train your dragon is by far the best dreamworks movie ever. Masterpiece story telling and beautiful animation.
Flushed away
Bee Movie is a masterpiece. I laughed all the way through that movie.
Here's my DreamWorks Golden Age Ranking
And my number 1 DreamWorks Movie on this list is... Nuff said
2) How To Train Your Dragon: I love the How To Train Your Dragon Series, while I don't love it as much as the other DreamWorks franchise, I still have a fondness with the First two movies and Race to the Edge.
Now we reached the Top 5
And 6) Madagascar: Madagascar 1's a great film, it has everything when it comes to the series' lore, characters, and sense of humor.
Wait you don't like Kung Fu Panda 2 and you think HTTYD1's a cliche.
@@kasam0308 Yeah... I have tons to say about KFP2. All I have to say is, it's not bad.
LOVE the effort put into this! Thanks for a great list!
@@DaveLeeDownUnder Why Thank You.
Shrek cartoon evolution maybe?
It’s so hard to believe that both dreamworks and illumination are owned by the same company nowadays. They almost go hand in hand I feel like. Personally I don’t think illumination is as bad as a lot of people make them out to be. Just very misguided…
Could you do a ranking of every illumination movie
Maybe when I’m finished with DreamWorks.
To say that I despise Shrek 4 is an understatement. I can never watch it again.
Best is Kung Fu Panda, it did such a great job balancing silly humor with serious moments and great action!
Followed close behind it is Curse Of The Were-Rabbit and How To Train Your Dragon
Paramount did not buy dreamworks they just distributed the movies
I'm probably nostalgia-blind, but I adore most of these movies.
I'm one of the few people who legitimately loves Bee Movie
I dunno what to make of Bee Movie.
When is part 3 ?
Top ties
Would be
Kung fu panda
Madagascar 1-2
Magamind
Over the hedge
How to train your dragon
Rest meh
