I'm one of your earliest subscribers. I have enjoyed every episode (well almost all of them). Keep up the great work man, even if the financial rewards suck at the moment.
Thanks! I definitely remember seeing your bus commenting on here since the beginning lol. They definitely can't all be his, but in the words of Pat McAfee "only the bangers survive." Even the best musicians out here put out albums with 10 crappy songs, but the 4 good ones carry them for their entire career! That's my strategy, as long there's enough good ones, people will forget about the bad ones😂
@SARGEinc - lol 😆 right on, man! Btw, the only reason I didn't enjoy all of them is because I didn't see all of them... Yet! It's not that I watched them and didn't enjoy them. ;-) Happy New Year!! :-)
Dude… I really enjoy your videos. You have a great way of telling your stories and presenting your adventures. Wishing you the best in 2025. Hope it is your year!
Hi Sarge. This will be your biggest video. Everyone wants to know how much money they can expect to make from UA-cam. I hope you do well and reach your goals. All the best from Lake Erie.
Thank you, I agree. That's why I made it, people want to know how much money they make. You read online about people making a ton of money, but the biggest bucks are so far away from most people. There's a lot of people just starting out that are in, or will be in exactly my position. And if they're making way more than me, they can be inspired to keep going😂
You'll get there Jordan, looks like you've gained a decent amount of subscribers since uploading this video even. You know what they say, you've got to walk before you can run, and you definitely have the right attitude for success. Here's to a happy new year and at least 5k subscribers in 2025 cheers!!!
I've gained 54 as I'm responding to this comment, and if I keep this pace up I'll be at 5kin no time! Although that is likely unsustainable, it does make you realize how quickly it can grow if you get a video that really pops, or just a few more that kind of do. Thanks, and happy new year too Frank!
Stick with it Sarge. Your channel is great. A mix of all kinds of interests, travels, comedy, food and keeping it real 🙂 Happy New Year 2025 is your year ✌
Wishing you an EXCELLENT 2025..!! We started a channel Retired time to Cruise in August 2024… Liked and Subscribed…. We are looking forward to Monetization and are enjoying UA-cam and pushing ourselves to learning new skills and meeting new people. It took several days when the first person walked up and said they watched our videos, subscribed and loved our delivery of information….. still smiling thinking about it..😁👍
That's awesome. It feels great getting compliments on your videos, but it's wild when people see you in regular life and recognize you from your videos. That's how you know that people are really watching, at least that's how I feel
I subscribed today, I don't think you failed at all. As long as you're having fun. I like watching your videos and appreciate the work and effort you have put in. I wish you all the best in 2025.
Thank you. I agree. I failed in the sense of becoming a full-time vanlife youtuber, but I absolutely succeeded in having some absolutely awesome times. It's been worth it for sure, and it's not over until I'm done, and I'm not done yet!
I am an early follower and love the adventure videos. My favourites are your canoe trips and Jasper backpacking trip. I like that your videos don’t seem scripted and you even admit to your mistakes. All the best in 2025 and I hope you achieve all your goals.
Thank you. I definitely don't script my video, and I almost never have any idea what I'm doing😂. That trip in Jasper was awesome, and I'll have one similar coming out in like February of the Rockwall Trail backpacking trip I did this year.
Being a BC lifer I subscribed as soon as I discovered your channel, BC is a big province but seeing places in your videos that I've been to makes it seem like "local" content lol! First video I watched was your van build doing the 4wd swap but I've enjoyed the variety you post. YT is a tough go, not for everyone that's for sure but stick to it and hopefully your channel takes off like other BC ones I also follow.
Thank you. I do like to be able to do local BC content, and it's cool seeing other local stuff on UA-cam. It's the place I grew up and love, so it feels good to show it off to people that wouldn't normally know about it, but it's awesome to just have good reason to explore it further.
I first found your channel this year and I love your content, I feel like its relatable and have loved to watch your growth. I really enjoyed all of your paddling trips. Keep it up❤
Yay! Glad to hear that you are still planning on making videos in the upcoming year! I started watching for the canoeing content and ended up staying for the non-canoeing content (and all the laughs) as well. I think 2025 will be your year!
Sandon is the best... I just posted another Sandon video on my channel today... "The Outskirts of Sandon"... It's to the spots you didn't see on your visit there... Keep up the great work and keep on adventuring... Who knows, maybe one day we'll meet up for a paddle...
That's awesome. Knowing what I know know, I'm almost certainly going to have to go back up to Sandon again, and paddling Slocan Lake is my actually probably my favorite place to canoe in BC, so we definitely might. When I was up there, I went past the town and started hiking on some trail, I walked by a pile of rubble from an old cabin or something and then got lost. I was interested in seeing what else was out and around there, but I realized I had no idea what I was doing or what I was looking for. Next time I'd like to come back with a better idea😂
Thank you. Going fishing is the number one request I get on this channel, so one day I might catch a big kokanee. I did get some sweet drone footage of some spawning salmon in a couple of the videos from my last year's summer trip. I think it's in the one that I canoed and had lunch on a private island. They were swimming up a creek at the end of slocan lake, they might of even been kokanee.
Nice job getting that 1000! Geuss ive got a ways to go, only money ive spent on my channel was upgrading my phone earlier than needed for a better camera and storage. 😂😂
They day the first 1000 is the hardest! I don't know if that's true, but that's what I have been telling myself this whole time. I definitely think buying the least amount of stuff you need to make a functional channel is the move. People invest heavy in cameras and computer gear, but the more you spend the harder it's going to be to really feel the results. Maybe it will help the channel grow faster, but if you can't get an audience with cheap gear, I'm not sure you'll get one with expensive gear, and don't buy anything you can't justify as a fun money. That's the way I view things anyways.
@SARGEinc yeah I figured i seeing improvements in every video I make, don't need to upgrade cameras but work on getting better video/editing. All the smaller channels ive seem the first 1000 is the hardest part for sure! Maybe in another 2 years if I'm lucky haha
Thanks for the video, I’m considering starting out on adventure YouTubing. So this was helpful! I since then I was looking out for videos like this! How to UA-cam, how to edit and also how to film. If you have some more pointers on this, I’d appreciate more videos on the topics!
I might talk more about what I do and use to make videos after I get through posting the last videos I recorded during the summer. I feel like I'm under qualified to talk about it because I really have no idea what I'm doing, but that actually might be the same as more people than I realize.
@ since you already created some content, but are still in the early stages i believe you are very qualified. It would be like a shared learning experience. I would certainly appreciate it :)
Keep on doing it, just don't count on the YT income, it might take time to build up. I have looked many different channels, which have had similar difficulties, BUT then something just happens - at least for some of those - which starts driving viewers to the channel, resulting a bigger jump in the view counts and also the income. Your channel seems to be fully in position to get bigger viewcounts. It's sort of competition for the viewing minutes the viewers are using their time to look at channels.
man, you aren't doing too bad. I have videos with almost 5 million views, about 5k subs and I lost monetization years back because I quit making videos weekly or whatever they want. I just got sick of spending thousands on camera gear and not even making $100 a month. oh well. if anything exciting in my life happens i'll get back into it!
It's definitely a lot of work to make some many videos for almost no money lol. I'm going to keep trying it, but it's definitely not worth it until it is. Hopefully I'll get to 5 million views per video one day!
I subbed because at the time I was looking for Astro Van content and I loved seeing yours. I am not into canoeing therefore I didn’t follow your channel much any more.I think in order for your channel to succeed you need to focus on one thing. Maybe have a dedicated van life channel and start a separate, dedicated canoeing channel. Anyways, best of luck. I hope you keep making videos. 👍🏻
I definitely get that, and one day I might end up with multiple channels, but for now, I'm just doing everything lol. I think there's 2 ways to think about it, do one thing and grow an audience that like that thing, or do a bunch of things and hope you can keep them interested in the other things. I definitely don't think either is perfect, and I think to a lot of people will only maintain an interest in so long.
@@SARGEincI think generally the niche thing is what people say works, but that also takes away the freedom and appeal of UA-cam to begin with right? I personally make videos about whatever I want, sort of like you and I challenge the narrative that says you need to focus on a niche.
I have a feeling 25 is gonna be an awesome year for you Have watched all your vids and they just keep getting better..cheers to the new year bud..failed youtuber..NOT!
That's dope. My Canada parks pass I bought this summer is good for all of next summer to, I excited about that. I might even try to dip into your country this year, I feel like that's a frontier that I need to explore more.
No expectations, no disappointments.... You can't focus on revenue at this point, Just keep pumping out content BUT enjoy doing it. As long as you have fun that's all that matters for now. I don't have patreon at all but have been very happy with my monthly revenue since finally figuring out how to get paid. The love you get from your fans is key, making people feel good is all that matters - Eventually you'll have enough videos out there where the numbers will grow, just don't expect anything
I agree. It's pretty wild how much love people your way, it's hard to keep up with sometimes. I decided need to find away to pump out more videos this year, hopefully by doing more livestreams. Once I figure out what I'm doing fully, I'm going to try to recruit you to come on a live stream, so be ready!
Would like to give you some food for thought; you’re good with narration you know how to edit and you have a van. The space of sailboat racing needs a reporter to go around to events report on the events channels like sailing illustrated cannot be at every spot. I would urge you to consider the thought of being a reporter for a space that’s not overcrowded like van life you have the equipment you have the skill here’s the invitation just food for thought. Keep up the good work sorry for the discouraging revenue JOHN the video editor, the sailboat instructor, the School Bus trainer in Kansas City
I will look into it. I have never thought about sailing, but I definitely have thought about coving random events and stuff other than vanlife. I have been making videos exclusively on what I want to do, but I do think I should spread my efforts into videos that other people would want to see.
Go Sarge! That's really not too bad! Its all about consistency, the quality of the content matters very little as long as it is PG and yt can slap ads on it. I have seen a TON of channels go from nothing to 100,000+ doing everything they tell you not to, but yet showing up time and time again once they find the right audience... I have made zip off youtube, save for one "free" product that I accepted for review, but the lessons uploading videos has taught me directly and indirectly are priceless. I guess you could say I'm playing that long game 😆I disappear for months and that's a big no no, so definitely my own fault 😅 Its a grind out here when you don't have yoga pants or a tow truck in the thumb nails 😂 bring the doggo on more trips, people cant get enough of the vanlife with a pet genre, couple Jackson fart jokes here and there and boom ur gassing up the astro with straight yotube $$$ in more way than one 🤣
I definitely think life would never easier if I looked better in yoga pants😂. I agree that I just need to keep posting consistently and it'll come, eventually I'll find a bigger audience and I'll be off to the races. If it was easier, everyone will do it. I would like to bring Jackson on more adventure, but he's old and he's not much of an adventurer anymore. He's losing his mobility, so he's getting limited in what he can do. I might get him out again as long as it's not too cold, and I'm just chilling by the van. He's 14 now, and he'd much rather be at home in the comfort of my bed, or at minimum the couch.
@@SARGEinc You and I both! 🤣yeah even regular vids straying into different topics seem to work, opens you up to different pockets. Oh fair enough, he hides his age well, looks single digits in the early videos. His breed is not a fan of winter I imagine!
Me and my wife love your videos! Both subscribed to support you. If you’re ever in the west Kootenays again feel free to hit me up for a pick up or drop off.
You haven’t failed unless you quit and delete your channel. Like Camo Dave use to say “all you need is 1 or 2 Grannies sending you money every month”. RlP Dave.
I think for the most part making UA-cam videos is a hobby. So spending a lot of money on cameras is a waste of money, cheap used cameras can make videos too. And I think 4K videos are overrated for UA-cam. I'm watching on a phone or tablet not on a big screen in a theater. I have 4 cameras about 6 lenses and 1 video camera (all of them bought used for less than $2000) I don't know if any of them have 4K and don't care if they do. Haven't tried making any UA-cam videos yet but I have thought about it.
I agree about it mostly being a hobby. Everything I bought I bought as a toy, and all the trips I've done I did for fun. Obviously, I hope one day that I can make enough money to support myself going forward, but I don't care all the money I already spent has been with the knowledge that I will likely never seen that again. I think being cheap on gear is also pretty wise. It's probably awesome to have expensive and fancy gear, but there's people making a living just using their phones. Even the van I built was cheap, at least relatively cheap, I see some people go all in trying to make vanlife content spending $100,000 on a super fancy sprinter van conversion. That's a lot of money that you're going in the hole for, and it's a long road to try to dig out of. Maybe it works, but if you gamble you just need to make sure you gamble with money you can afford to lose.
I definitely don't think it's ideal to have a channel name that has no real relation to anything that I'm making videos on. That's the name I wanted, and I think eventually it will be fine, but I do think a name about camping, vanlife, or adventure would be a better choice.
Very informative video. Thanks for sharing. Yeah , I hear ya from totally getting 💯 views that are not subscribers . They keep returning [ im greatful] but not hitting the LIKE & SUBSCRIBED. 😅 does hurt the channel. But life happens when unexpected taking a break happens, but it's slowly climbing. I got 333 subscribers far better, where I first started not expecting subscribers . But I did start a second channel just for my van and vlog [ if need be] . But that being said, bro. 2025 is our year, bro. For us, the small fish in the sea grow in this massive fishbowl. 😅
I complain but I'm a terrible like and subscriber too😂. If I'm watching UA-cam on my TV, it's "hard" to do it lol. I've gotten better at commenting on other people's stuff, but even then I still don't do enough.
I Can't Remember Back In 1964 When I Got Monetized? But UA-cam Is Making People Work For It! Ask UA-cam What They Made Off SARGE In 2024!
That would be an interesting stat to know. How much they make compared to how much you make, they probably do pretty good, but they could definitely live without their SARGEinc revenue.

I definitely had no idea how to edit or make a video when I started. I just kept doing it, and I learned what worked and what didn't. At least I kind of learned lol. I heard how to fix my vehicles mostly on UA-cam too. I knew a little bit from taking a little mechanics in high school, but mostly I just watched videos on UA-cam and winged it. I've definitely been down the habit hole of watching 10 videos about the wrong thing, then finding a terribly made video that absolutely nailed it. It's a wild place, but the amount of money I've saved by fixing my own stuff is crazy. Although I've definitely made life harder on myself by doing things wrong too😂
I’m going to subscribe because I genuinely like the demeanor you have! Let’s go 2025!

@@SARGEincI think generally the niche thing is what people say works, but that also takes away the freedom and appeal of UA-cam to begin with right? I personally make videos about whatever I want, sort of like you and I challenge the narrative that says you need to focus on a niche.
The Van! I clicked the video for the van
Thanks, it's a good looking van!
I have a feeling 25 is gonna be an awesome year for you
Have watched all your vids and they just keep getting better..cheers to the new year bud..failed youtuber..NOT!
Thanks man, I appreciate it!
Bring on 2025! More epic chit! 🎉🤘I got a state park pass for Christmas so you know I'm hitting the roads! Thanks again Sarge!
That's dope. My Canada parks pass I bought this summer is good for all of next summer to, I excited about that. I might even try to dip into your country this year, I feel like that's a frontier that I need to explore more.
I suggest 20 min short everyday with a minimum of 1 to 2 hr live , stay consistent for 90 days youl be on top
@@SARGEinc I'm 100% down, I know it'll be a "laugh-riot" - I still plan to head up that way and I owe you a phone call.
Happy New Year!
What’s up el jeffe
I guess you could say I'm playing that long game 😆I disappear for months and that's a big no no, so definitely my own fault 😅
Its a grind out here when you don't have yoga pants or a tow truck in the thumb nails 😂 bring the doggo on more trips, people cant get enough of the vanlife with a pet genre, couple Jackson fart jokes here and there and boom ur gassing up the astro with straight yotube $$$ in more way than one 🤣
His breed is not a fan of winter I imagine!
good video
Thank you
Me and my wife love your videos! Both subscribed to support you. If you’re ever in the west Kootenays again feel free to hit me up for a pick up or drop off.
Thank you! I definitely might be up there again at some point, and who knows what I'll be getting up to.
It’s always the videos you think aren’t good that go somewhere 😂😅 at least that’s how I feel .
That's what people say, I find that most of them go nowhere😂
You haven’t failed unless you quit and delete your channel.
Like Camo Dave use to say “all you need is 1 or 2 Grannies sending you money every month”. RlP Dave.
I don't know who came dave is, but I definitely need a few more grannies in my life😂
Let’s go!!!
Haha I love this title
Thanks. I felt like the title was perfect too. A little clickbaity yet totally accurate😂
in 2025 im hoping to be a failed woodworking youtuber lol
I believe in you!
Podcast coming back??
Podcast will be coming back, soon.
Just found you on the UA-cam….
I would say you are more of a variety channel.
I definitely lack a little direction, I mostly say it's a van channel because I have a van😂
Just enjoy the journey and one day you may make some money on the Chanel. Many you tubers say it took a few years to make it.
👍🏼👍🏼💪🏼💪🏼
😎👍
Keep on Vannin' bro! #vannatsorbust Minnesota USA July 2025
I had to Google this, but maybe just maybe I'll be there.
On patroon release a vedio a week no mattrer what..
I do need to figure out what I'm doing there
!!
Maybe it's the name
I definitely don't think it's ideal to have a channel name that has no real relation to anything that I'm making videos on. That's the name I wanted, and I think eventually it will be fine, but I do think a name about camping, vanlife, or adventure would be a better choice.
@@SARGEinc Good luck in your journey, friend 💯
Sarge Made A Few Hundred Last Year After Spending Thousands So Don't Give Up On Your Talents Because Being Forced To Watch Worthless Advertisements' Makes UA-cam Millions Like Parts That Fit eBay Algorithms! Ask UA-cam What They Made Off SARGE In 2024!
That would be an interesting stat to know. How much they make compared to how much you make, they probably do pretty good, but they could definitely live without their SARGEinc revenue.
Wait a minute YOU get paid for subscribers? I have to pay for mine.🤣🤣🤣. Good luck!
Thank you. I occasionally bribe mine with gifts, so that's almost like paying them.
Great content gotta get better at titles and thumbnails..
Thank you and I agree.

I bet it's more than my failed gofundme for my house burning down. We lost 23 guns; where's the Kyle Rittenhouse donations, maga?
Maga doesn't fund meth labs
Glad the guns are gone. Just need to get rid of the other 400 million or so.
