I always thought that the "Strawberry Fields Forever" 45 P.S. was a classy picture sleeve!! Both front and Back!! The childhood photos on the backside of the sleeve are classy, also!!! Whoever designed this p.s. was a Genius, IMO. One of the best p.s.'s by ANY group or solo artist, ever!! That's my take. Thank you Joe, for this fantastic video!!!

Another great video Joe. I am a big Beatles fan since aged 11 and have a big collection but just for me personally I won’t buy this one and I’ll tell you why. Like you I prefer the original artefacts but also the UK singles. The reason is those were the ones The Beatles will have been most over and as intended. Okay picture sleeves didn’t come into the UK for singles I think until Strawberry Fields / Penny Lane, but that is part of the authenticity too for me. The old green parlophone sleeves advertising other albums of the day and the original font on the labels etc. Also what really drives me crazy about many of these international ones is they often don’t even use an image of The Beatles from the same year the single came out! There was one you showed there which was half way through their back catalogue but used a very early picture. When they do that I can’t get any sense of the record from it’s cover. I don’t know what the producers were thinking? Maybe they were not given up to date Beatles images on time by the UK or something. Part of what I like about music and records is that they become a capsule of that point in time. The atmosphere, where the Beatles were at, the length of their hair, the move from one image to another - it’s all part of the release. So I always prefer the images of the group from that moment in time when they made that single. My favourite new set so far has been the Beatles in Mono. On that one Apple really went to incredible detail to re-produce the exact packaging of those albums as they were in the UK. I also like the US albums as those have special significance - eg the way Brian Wilson would have first heard Rubber Soul, the butcher cover debacle etc. Anyway I always enjoy your passion and you made me go from liking this set from about 10 per cent to 60 per cent.
What if they had faithfully reproduced those UK sleeve covers and then in a (rather thick book) reprint every single cover issued in all countries that released Beatles singles.
Nice video Joe, I am more excited about the new Paul single than yet another repackaging of the Beatles UK singles in vinyl only. I will say the reproduction of the picture sleeves is impressive!

thanks for showing them all. I would have gotten a set, but my wife's car broke and had to spend $475 to fix it. Also got a new bridge (teeth) for $2500.....so much for extra money for Beatles this month. I will wait for a sale or used copy one day. No just kidding I don't collect 45s They are very cool and nice thick cover etc. Worth every penny.

Great job Joe the only thing i would want out that box set would be the Love Me Do single I already have the 2017 Record Store Day release of The Beatles Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane single and that is a shame that the black Beatles On Apple 45 sleeve was not included in this box set I bought that one alone also .Enjoy your box set Happy Holiday's
Got mine today, it’s an absolutely beautiful product. I shall be playing them all tomorrow in order and then probably never play them again who knows. Lovely to have though.
If the quality of the box and sleeves are any indication, I'm sure the audio quality of the records within will satisfy just fine. But from a collector's point of view, I'm sure they really weren't meant to be played much anyway.

Being a youngster in the early 60's, I was a bit young to buy The Beatles new singles and albums. I left that up to my older brother & sister. They would come home with any new releases by The Beatles. Just about all the singles were on the the Yellow & Red Capitol records label and all albums had the rainbow ring around the black label. Until The Beatles formed "Apple Records" in 1968 with "Hey Jude" being there first. The sleeve was all black, and it read The Beatles on Apple. Although I do remember albums on Vee-Jay going back to 1963 I think? 🚶🏽♀️🚶🏽♀️🚶🏽♀️🚶🏽♀️
Nice unboxing video. I originally cancelled my Amazon pre-order, but had second thoughts after doing so. Luckily I secured a set at my local record store at a great price(less than Amazon) which I'll be picking up on RSD. Heard reports of some warped discs. Hopefully that won't be an issue for those purchasing this pricey set.

The Australian release of "Penny Lane" / "Strawberry Fields Forever" had the picture sleeve identical to the UK version. Only the first 5000 were issued with the sleeve....after that run sold they reverted to the familiar brown die cut paper Parlophone sleeve.
I wish I could have bought this box at but I can't right now. but I did pick up the Traveling Wilburys CD and DVD box set. And a cassette of the first album and a single cassette with the title Handle With Care on it. After all the money I spent on the different versions of Abbey Road 50th, I just couldn't drop that much money again so soon. I may pick it up after the first of the year.. Income tax time. Lol

Interesting box. Luckily it is the Love Me Do single with Ringo on drums. Were you referring to the comment on Michael Fremer on Analog Planet, considering the audio quality? I listened to a few singles and the sound is more than okay. Enjoy the listen. By the way ....... I heard the 2 Paul songs. He is so hard trying to be hip and poppy. I ask myself why does he do that? He doesn't need that. The man is a legend and has such a legacy. Why always wanting to prove himself?

I can tell you love new product which is great 👍:)...For me not as much fun as collecting the original singles....i love the crackles and history! I’ve still got 12 to go and happy to continue a search that may never end :) The random sleeves spoil this for me.....Apple/EMI getting it wrong like they often do
Nigel Wood... no, actually I much prefer original, vintage, artifact releases from the actual older days! This is a rare example where I bought a reissue, but I generally prefer the first press stuff.
Hey Joe, I want this soooooo bad, but another expense came up (video to come) so I just can't pull the trigger right now. The only thing I can think of to make this set cooler would have been to put Lady Madonna/ The Inner Light on dark red opaque vinyl. Now that would have been authentic. Can anyone here tell if the "Ask Me Why" version of this box is really the ORIGINAL version of the single released on January 11, 1963, or is it the same version contained on the album "Please Please ME" (mono)? So far EMI has never relaunched this version on vinyl or CD.

Margaretsville... I can't help you there because the George Harrison box set of albums was one item that I personally opted to pass up. Way too expensive at over $400, and I much prefer owning the original George Harrison LPS from various years of first press.
The George vinyl box has come down in price somewhat, it is now $327 plus free shipping on Amazon. At the Chicago Beatlefest in August a dealer was selling a sealed copy for $300.00 which I almost bought. I have the two CD box sets from George so I am covered. The vinyl box would have just been to have as a collectible.
@@astrosjer822 I also see that the price was way lower on Amazon compared to Music Direct, where I usually buy my vinyl. I might pull the trigger on it, depending on how much cash I drop on Black Friday RSD.
Glad to see you're enjoying this set Joe, but it's not for me, as I would have preferred the original UK copies (plain as they were) to match up with the vinyl album box sets, then they could have released an EP set to complete, this should have been released as "International" like you said! cheers mate!
This is one thing I almost wish they had done - go ahead and print a whole bunch more sleeves and let YOU choose which you want to keep/showcase - wouldn't have cost much more... but then again the labels wouldn't match... hmm... never mind.
Australia, like the UK, had only two Beatles singles released with picture sleeves in the 1960s. Those two are in this collection - Australia gets the Strawberry Fields Forever disc and the UK gets the Let It Be disc. It's a shame that the Japanese representative disc is Lady Madonna as the sleeve uses the Strawberry Fields Forever sleeve photo. They could have chosen one of the other discs for the Japanese representative.
awesome Joe!!! the packaging is very nice quality, please let us know how they sound, i've heard some response online but more importantly from friends who have got it and say the sound quality is just so,so or lacking, but i always like to hear your opinion in the mix as well my friend. does it say anywhere in the book or box set if they were mastered or anything from digital transfers or the analog tapes? hope your doing well and hope to see your review of how they sound.

I was considering buying it when you said they were exact replicas of the originals. Now that I see they aren't, I've decided against it. 45s in cardboard sleeves just seems weird to me, except in the case of EPs. And why does the box refer to them as "UK singles" when each one is from a different country?
Two things I Miss on the latest series of Beatles collections: Th Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, The White Album Deluxe edition and The Abbey Road 50 Years Deluxe Edition. I bought al three of them and I said, Two things would be awesome: The possibility of a digital download included free and the books in e-book format as well.
Wow, I totally disagree with you on two points. Number 1, this box set makes absolutely no sense to me. If these are the 22 singles issued in the UK, then they should have the sleeves as originally issued in the UK - rather than random international versions of the covers. Even those that did not have a picture sleeve in the UK original, should just be included with the generic record company sleeve as it was in the UK. The fact that these have international sleeves, that point right there makes this box set of no interest to me. Number 2, you said that you worry about preserving the value and collectibility of the original records, whereas I am totally of the opposite opinion. I want a reissue of the records exactly as they were originally sold, using the same paper stock, the same etching on the runout groove, the same vinyl weight - so exact, that a forensic scientist could not tell the difference between an original 1960's single and the 2019 reissue. Now THAT kind of box set I would pounce on in a second! Oh well, I guess we have to agree to disagree. But this singles box set, as issued, is a big "pass" for me.

The absolute last thing I would want is to have facsimiles so precisely that a forensic scientist could tell a difference between Originals. What's the point of collectability then, what's the point of having original artifacts which are genuine, true and real first pressings?

As a CD guy, I got a good deal the end of last year on it and it has remained sealed but glad I picked it up.
It's currently priced at $108 on Amazon if anyone's interested in getting it at a great price or buying another set to keep sealed.

She Loves You/I'll Get You always had a picture sleeve in the UK. I know as my copy WAS the UK edition.

Beatlevinyl85.. so far I only played two songs. One was okay, but the version of HELP was rather poor sounding.

I can tell you love new product which is great 👍:)...For me not as much fun as collecting the original singles....i love the crackles and history! I’ve still got 12 to go and happy to continue a search that may never end :)

Nigel Wood... no, actually I much prefer original, vintage, artifact releases from the actual older days! This is a rare example where I bought a reissue, but I generally prefer the first press stuff.

Hey Joe, I want this soooooo bad, but another expense came up (video to come) so I just can't pull the trigger right now. The only thing I can think of to make this set cooler would have been to put Lady Madonna/ The Inner Light on dark red opaque vinyl. Now that would have been authentic. By the way, I waited for your video to check these out. Enjoy them! Take care...
Tim Allen - The box only cost me $27.00 . How come? Because since monetizing my channel since August I was able to offset the rest of the cost. Something to truly consider for yourself.
Can anyone here tell if the "Ask Me Why" version of this box is really the ORIGINAL version of the single released on January 11, 1963, or is it the same version contained on the album "Please Please ME" (mono)?
So far EMI has never relaunched this version on vinyl or CD.

Margaretsville... I can't help you there because the George Harrison box set of albums was one item that I personally opted to pass up. Way too expensive at over $400, and I much prefer owning the original George Harrison LPS from various years of first press.
The George vinyl box has come down in price somewhat, it is now $327 plus free shipping on Amazon. At the Chicago Beatlefest in August a dealer was selling a sealed copy for $300.00 which I almost bought. I have the two CD box sets from George so I am covered. The vinyl box would have just been to have as a collectible.
@@astrosjer822 I also see that the price was way lower on Amazon compared to Music Direct, where I usually buy my vinyl. I might pull the trigger on it, depending on how much cash I drop on Black Friday RSD.

Mark Percival.. I've only played a couple so far. Those seem to be mono. I think it's a mix of both.
Glad to see you're enjoying this set Joe, but it's not for me, as I would have preferred the original UK copies (plain as they were) to match up with the vinyl album box sets, then they could have released an EP set to complete, this should have been released as "International" like you said! cheers mate!

This is one thing I almost wish they had done - go ahead and print a whole bunch more sleeves and let YOU choose which you want to keep/showcase - wouldn't have cost much more... but then again the labels wouldn't match... hmm... never mind.
Australia, like the UK, had only two Beatles singles released with picture sleeves in the 1960s. Those two are in this collection - Australia gets the Strawberry Fields Forever disc and the UK gets the Let It Be disc. It's a shame that the Japanese representative disc is Lady Madonna as the sleeve uses the Strawberry Fields Forever sleeve photo. They could have chosen one of the other discs for the Japanese representative.
awesome Joe!!! the packaging is very nice quality, please let us know how they sound, i've heard some response online but more importantly from friends who have got it and say the sound quality is just so,so or lacking, but i always like to hear your opinion in the mix as well my friend. does it say anywhere in the book or box set if they were mastered or anything from digital transfers or the analog tapes? hope your doing well and hope to see your review of how they sound.

@@MeanMrMayo thanks for the feedback brother Joe and goodmorning. hell, i ain't even been to bed yet, i wish i could say a hot milf kept my busy all night and i've been figuring up and paying the bills and doing some internet vinyl shopping and winding down from a long hard ass week of work-as usual:(. at the price this box is right now i may hold off on it and see if the price comes down. but i really want to get one of the older sets priorto this new release, especially the EP set, for the money i think it's a better long term investment for my money, but hell, i could always be wrong about that too-lol. when i'm spending a little chunk of money like that i always put some thought and consideration into the long term value,if there is any, cause i usually look at the items i know that are somewhat good at retaining their value over the years and that usually will always have a decent demand, but things will and do change a bit from time to time. enjoy your weekend my friend and i hope to see some cool Mean mr.m. content this weekend. thanks brother Joe... \m/ \m/

@@MeanMrMayo Did the HELP single sound muddy? There have been complaints that the mono HELP! LP sounded that way. TBH, the album did sound a bit muddy, but not bad.
I was considering buying it when you said they were exact replicas of the originals. Now that I see they aren't, I've decided against it. 45s in cardboard sleeves just seems weird to me, except in the case of EPs. And why does the box refer to them as "UK singles" when each one is from a different country?
Enrico Sanchez..they are said to be "UK" because the two songs on each record are the same pairings as they were in England.

Two things I Miss on the latest series of Beatles collections: Th Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, The White Album Deluxe edition and The Abbey Road 50 Years Deluxe Edition. I bought al three of them and I said, Two things would be awesome: The possibility of a digital download included free and the books in e-book format as well.
I hope to get this on Christmas! I think it could be soon worth as much as the Mono Box Set

Wow, I totally disagree with you on two points. Number 1, this box set makes absolutely no sense to me. If these are the 22 singles issued in the UK, then they should have the sleeves as originally issued in the UK - rather than random international versions of the covers. Even those that did not have a picture sleeve in the UK original, should just be included with the generic record company sleeve as it was in the UK. The fact that these have international sleeves, that point right there makes this box set of no interest to me. Number 2, you said that you worry about preserving the value and collectibility of the original records, whereas I am totally of the opposite opinion. I want a reissue of the records exactly as they were originally sold, using the same paper stock, the same etching on the runout groove, the same vinyl weight - so exact, that a forensic scientist could not tell the difference between an original 1960's single and the 2019 reissue. Now THAT kind of box set I would pounce on in a second! Oh well, I guess we have to agree to disagree. But this singles box set, as issued, is a big "pass" for me.

The absolute last thing I would want is to have facsimiles so precisely that a forensic scientist could tell a difference between Originals. What's the point of collectability then, what's the point of having original artifacts which are genuine, true and real first pressings?
