WoundedSatellite Here: Appreciate the Kinnan love per usual, and great haircut man. Comparing the 3 Kinnan decks against each other from my perspective it goes like this. Using my 9th place Grind Them Into Dust list as a baseline, the 8th place Kinnan deck is on mostly the same overall strategy with a focus on control and making your opponents lives difficult with the effects we can introduce into the game. The main difference between our lists is mine contains more pieces to give myself the option of a turbo game plan and a higher chance of capitalizing on the windows we can create by just presenting a win. The 8th place list trades off more opportunities to go for the basalt combo in exchange for a slightly higher rate while hitting, and an overall trust that spinning and slamming down large threats from hand will carry him to victory. The 7th place list ran by Jorman appears to be on what I would call a different plan altogether. He trades off most of the big flips that exist in the deck, giving the impression that more like in Pingmeisters list, spins are the back up plan. This is a deck built around infinite mana combos, and as seen by the inclusion of Basalt lines, HBH/Tidespout lines, Freed from the Real lines, and Devoted Druid/Machine God lines, he is on all of them. He isn't very interested in playing the control roll, he wants to assemble a combo and make his opponents have it.
heyo danbrown here: I completely agree about wild pile and dawnwaker coming closer and closer together as time goes on and the meta shifts. The deck played much differently when you could reliably have another stax deck at the table like your winota's and jetmirs ect because their game plan just helped you most of the time. With the meta shifting so much and orcish bow masters showing up I def had to shift a lot of what the deck was trying to do and how to get there. The spellseeker/ephemerate is a newer inclusion that is really just there for value, talked with rebell a bit about it and it just gives you a ton of options. You are either getting 3 spells with spellseeker, or you are protecting your wincons from removal. Or you are getting to pitch cast your solitude and re-use it ect. Its been really good for versatility so far. I had a game at mox masters where it simply saved my kinnan from a fire covenant and that was good enough. And you can still just spellseeker for neoform to get your dockside/emiel/seedborn if you are in a good position for that.
Sisay is by far the most fun I've had playing cEDH and you inspired me to start playing her! It's also fun to brew with, since there are so many legendaries that can be good depending on meta and your gameplan.
The hulk lists dont tun the Cat pile because there isnt any redundancy to any of the pieces. If you lose the cat or samwise you dont have a hulk combo.
As far as i can see, doing the Samwise combo should cost you about $2 for all the pieces other than hulk. And Melira, Sylvok Outcast costs you $2 by herself. Cauldron Familiar has been reprinted more times and should had never gone higher than fifty cents but here we are.
11:02 a few theories about ephemarate(not the pilot just theory crafting here) : + dockside makes a wave of mama; + manglehorn for hate; +solitude for removal; +ranger captain for tutoring; +phyrexian metamorph to reset it. Depending when you cast it: EOT target spell seeker search for a top deck tutor, upkeep target any other previously mentioned creatures for their effect followed by top deck tutor for a combo piece or a finisher, or you retarget spell seeker and can tutor for a counter spell or backup spell like silence and cast it upkeep and protect a combo turn. I'm just rambling and I hope the format of the sentences makes sense and if you even got this far you are the goat brother I wish I could've played you at some tables while you were still up in Mass but been following you for a long while mad support and respect
When Throne of Eldraine was dropped, Kenrith, the Returned King was going for about $12 to $40. Now a days you can get a copy for less than $2 and he was reprinted in March of the Machine along with other much needed reprintings of other legendary creatures including the different companions. Kenrith, the Returned King was a card i thought would be $50 or more and even become a $100 chase mythic of the set. Kenrith, the Returned King is literally a Staff of Domination in the command zone. The ONLY reason Thrassios Triton Hero is better is because your doing Scry 1, Then reveal the card, if it's a land you can put it on the field tapped. Otherwise, Draw a card. The fact that you can at the very least put the top card of your library on the bottom of your library AND if you reveal a land it's being put right into play is VERY powerful whether or not you can draw a card. Now imagine, you could just give your own creatures haste and trampe. You can make any creature on the board "big" via +1/+1 counters. You can bring a creature from a graveyard back to the battlefield under it's owners control. And now, you can make an opponent draw a card, and in response, make them draw a card, and unless they literally draw and cast Angels Grace which won't help them if they have zero cards in library, you can just in response make them draw a card. Kenrith, the Returned King is the one legendary creature i thought would out perform any other deck and is currently the only commander option i can use to play a deck that runs zero lands and seems like it can win when it feels like it. Kenrith, the Returned King was never an "under dog" he just feels dirty to play.
I personally use Ephemerate in my Bruse / Thrasios list for extra value off of Dockside, Spellseeker, Manglehorn, etc... If I have enough mana, sometimes I'll do something like play Spellseeker, search for Ephemerate, cast it targeting my spellseeker, to get Eladamri's call, search for dockside, then target the dockside with the rebound and go off next turn.
Love to see PTD do well. I've played against him a good bit locally, it's a good deck and he's a heck of a pilot. I don't think of Kenrith the same way I do Sisay and Najeela. Kenrith is true soup; the commander doesn't really suggest any particular strategy. Najeela and particularly Sisay both have a stronger identity. There is a lot of similarity just because 5 color pushes you in certain directions but Kenrith's lack of identity makes it more flexible and therefore less predictable.
To the Malcolm / Kediss pilot: I've been playtesting and really enjoying an Intuition pile (Underworld Breach, Glint-horn, Body Double). Give it a try.
I would guess grab ephemerate with spellseeker, then pass. End step, ephemerate SS, grab half of A+B, untap, upkeep ephemerate SS again, grab other half of A+B. Neo and Finale. Finale for dockside, then neo SS into emiel maybe? And then value the rest of the time, being able to grab protection or whatever you need.
I think virtue of courage is being slept on for ob. After playing a lot of ob since it's release and playing a lot of prosper prior going all in on spinning your wheels running what is essentially a second ob nixilis as an enchantment is incredible. Also helps it sees every ping you deal not just one at a time
Also …. Let it be noted that for the Kenny deck a Lurrus plus DEN on board with LED = infinite NET one mana of ANY COLOR so Kenny wins if going uninterrupted
Malcom Kediss is busted and as happy as I am to see it making final 4’s I’m almost as irritated that it wasn’t me. I’ve been working on the list since they were a thing. I’ve felt at least people were still playing it wrong. But this list is pretty close. And w Comedian letting the cat out of the bag that it’s not a breach deck I think I’m gonna have to move to something else now. Note to self, next time you want to get a list recognized try actually playing it in some tournies 😞 On the real, super happy to see someone rep Malcom Kediss. Deck is bananas. Stop w the breach and get off the wheels but I think you’re absolutely right to lean right into the Magda and fireweaver(s) plan. Great job!
Joking 😂right? Dr Doc plus technomancer is MANAAAAAA and sacs for daysssss 😂 and an Agatha of the Vile Cauldron could make all creatures’ activations even cheaper here
It also makes all your PWs uncounterable if you draw into them. Since PWs are way easier to counter than creatures, it's very good. Also makes The One Ring uncounterable if you play it.
Not playing cEDH tournaments much lately but I definitely notice how much this format revolves around top decks. Decks get on a high and then it seems like players over address decks that top too consistently. Not saying it's incorrect, that's pod specific but there's too many times I see consistency spike and fall in this format.
I love your videos, I think you're funny too. But I don't wanna sound mean but the fade on the side burns ain't it. I think you would look way better with something like a medium fade.

I love that malcom kediss showed up and showed off.
Dockside + Ruthless Technomancer + Mayhem Devil or Goblin Bombardment = infinite damage
Sans Mayhem devil/Goblin Bombardment, you can make infinite mana with Phyrexian Altar/Thermopod
I had to explain this when he looked at a Korvold list a while ago.
The hulk lists dont tun the Cat pile because there isnt any redundancy to any of the pieces. If you lose the cat or samwise you dont have a hulk combo.

underrated content right here my man. discovered you not long ago but def. changed my mind on cEDH. thanks

I mean I know it didn't make top 16 but... did ya see that Ellivere deck at Number 17? That was spicy.
I just built her recently and surprised someone already made a good run with her.
I'm excited to get some reps in.
Haha yeah had Wounded Satelite make sure to DM me that one 😅

Kenrith is the King for a reason! ;)
I love that you cosplayed as Alan for the thumbnail

Kenrith is really filling in the role that Tymna Thrasios left being flexible enough to house several different types of decks in one commander shell
Don’t forget the Midwest Mash 2023 coming up! Sponsored by The Collector Store in St Peters, Missouri. It would be badass if you can come to it!
Feel free to have those running it dm me :)
To the Malcolm / Kediss pilot: I've been playtesting and really enjoying an Intuition pile (Underworld Breach, Glint-horn, Body Double). Give it a try.
I might try the body double

Love the content but Ian, as a Dawnwaker enthusiast, I'm super keen to see some updates from you on the list :)
Also …. Let it be noted that for the Kenny deck a Lurrus plus DEN on board with LED = infinite NET one mana of ANY COLOR so Kenny wins if going uninterrupted
Technomancer combos with dockside
Talion Consideration: it can make thoracle combos hard if an opponent forces you to draw mid-combo

Great job!
I typically use the breach as a back up plan when someone else is dead
Also, yeah, I’m still going to run breach. It’s been my second most consistent good card in it.
The wheels are in there for aggressive mulligans
Joking 😂right? Dr Doc plus technomancer is MANAAAAAA and sacs for daysssss 😂 and an Agatha of the Vile Cauldron could make all creatures’ activations even cheaper here
MALCOLM KEDISS BABY LETS GOOOOOOOOOOO
Fuck yeah
Is Winota just done now? Don't see it anymore at all.
The only reason I’d consider halfling in Sisay would be for an uncounterable Rocco into dockside
It also makes all your PWs uncounterable if you draw into them. Since PWs are way easier to counter than creatures, it's very good.
Also makes The One Ring uncounterable if you play it.
Nice hair cut bro
I just top 16nd treasure series with Malcolm Kediss again
Wet Mardu is so much cooler than blue farm :D
I like Wet Farmdu
I just realized that Ellivere is on the 17th place 😮
Glad to see Malcolm Kediss doing well. Kinda unexplored and has potential
Top 16nd treasure series this month as well with it
I took the invitational
@@GrandmasterSamuraiDancer nice congrats 🎉

Why no Surfside top 16?
😡🐕
