After owning this Mazda FD RX7 for over 13 years, it’s time for it to receive some serious attention and go racing again ! Sticking with the two rotor 13B-REW engine, follow us over the coming weeks as we strip down and rebuild every square inch of this car, upgrading everything along the way.

I have conducted some head to head testing on aluminum hose fittings and tube fittings to failure.
Ran Earls, Fragola, Summit, Vibrant, Speedflow and Aeroflow in the test.
Without doubt, Speedflow is the best by far IMO. They are expensive, but keeping flammable fluids where they belong in
a race car will save your bacon, literally !

Love your builds 👍 with your trans dump valve I’m gonna say as a wild guesstimate you won’t need the nos, my shitta was so close to stalling up but just needed the little push with the nos / when you remember to turn the bottle on 😂🤦♂️
I’d be stunned if you need more than the smallest jet for it, I ended up using the middle sized nos jet and the biggest fuel jet for my e85 combo, worked at home a treat 😂

They generally all work using the same basic computer language coding (if, and, or, =, etc), but essentially it’s just common sense and pretty easy to work with. IF xyz then TRUE then output = ON.
Or the classic If triped X times in Y seconds.
Broomy is a great mechanic and builder! A lot of people have given him a hard time in the past for his budget haircuts, too-small t-shirts, and his dodgy conspiracy theories, but I know that if I was building a seckspec RX8, he'd be the first guy I'd call

Mazda's 2008 BT50 B2500 DX (2.5lt turbo diesel engine) uses two V groove belts (similar to your set up with a third belt also!) which may be a close fit for your pulleys

Look up the video of the guy who blew his leg off when the NOS tank exploded next to him inside the cabin of his race car before you decide to have a pressurized vessel inside the cabin of your car with you. Car looks great
Well that is exactly why you have the blow down tube and the safety disc on them. The disc ruptures at 3000psi and expels all the nitrous out of the cabin. The bottle will withstand much much more than 3000psi.

Good on ya for using Metalcast Broomy, paint of champions. 😎 I use it myself and love the results everytime, even with using beige or white primers. But I use the darker colours like their blue, purple and green. 👍

Your welding will be easier with an AC/DC TIG with pulse features...TokenTools or Everlast make nice ones.
Flexvolt grinders are the best ! Yeah I so need a new tig. The pulse doesn’t work anymore and neither does the foot pedal haha
Does Tech allow you to mount the FPR on the fire wall? We get flagged for that here... Looks great!
Bring the car up on the transbrake, the nitrous would automatically enable to bring the RPM and Boost up to your launch RPM . Once boost number is hit the engine should be able to keep it on boil. Launch the car, transbrake releases and the car goes. Once you hit peak boost, the nitrous comes back on for the rest of the run. Yes you do want it for power increase.
No, not for extra power just to spool and get it on the converter like he said. That turbo's big enough to supply oxygen to all the covid sufferers of India so doesn't need the piss weak nitrous up top

Sack the alternator off and run a 16v battery
I was originally going to run a 16v battery, but the need to charge it after every pass is just too much to worry about. No readily available power source in the pits, so then need a generator or an inverter for the charger. Just adds more complexity to a system that should be sufficient for our needs.
@@BroomysGarage yeh I thought that too but cartying a s mall generator and a charging isn't much with all the other crap you will have with you. And charging it between runs isn't a big deal unless your hotlapping it.

Maybe try hitting up Mako Motorsport for you dash cluster. I think they are still in the process of making an FD cluster mount. You can customise them too.

Everyone seems to be in the ‘process’ of making one. I’ve spoken with all of them over the last 12 months. None of them seem keen to do one.
