In this short, modestly produced video from a weekly UC Wednesday evening class in Southampton, could well be the greatest and most developed exposition on the headbutt and drills to develop it by any fighting instructor ever.

In Krav Itay Gils instructor...had us mark the face with a slap to the side that jolted and marked were we strike with our forehead. Same here. Targeting is crucial.

Lee is training for first 5 initial seconds.. No mma will teach u that.. Its not their thing.. Mma will only help if u have real fighting experience.. I do mma to stay in shape.. Everyone in the video I suppose do other stuff to stay in shape.. 5 seconds is essential to save your life..

Being of Irish and Polish descent gives one a thick skull and I LOVE the HEADBUTT !!!! I really appreciate how you make things CLEAR and LOGICAL in an expedient fashion!!! One question, Sifu Lee, looks like a potential secondary weapon would be the pinching of the outer obliques area prior to the shoulder bump or head butt, is that what you were demonstrating prior to the wrap up of this training session? With the DEEPEST respect JKD Sifu Mike Goldberg (JKD Sifus Bob Bremer & Tim Tackett's Lad in Fort Worth, Texas ).

I got headbutted once. Long time ago. Bar in Alabama. A guy my size (5’7, 165#} who I’ve never seen before comes out of nowhere to start a fight w me. Just for fun or showing off for his buddies I guess. I was understandably confused and put up my hands in the fence position until I could figure out what was happening. Then the dude headbutted me in the mouth. Totally took me by surprise, rang my bell for sure but didn’t knock me out or incapacitate me. That’s when my buddy Kevin (6’1, 225#) stepped from behind me and broke Mr. Headbutt’s face into 20 separate pieces.
The takeaway message is: Don’t headbutt someone if his friend is huge.
Btw the next day my face looked like I had been hit with a wrecking ball.
I grew up in a shithole NYC neighborhood (it's gentrified and beautiful now) so I witnessed a lot of fights growing up. Surprisingly no headbutts. I visited the UK back in 2014 and witnessed my first British street fight. I counted at least 4 headbutts thrown that day. It seems headbutts happen to be more common in the UK than in the US. I've began drilling them for a while now. Thankfully I've only had to headbutt one person but it was my drunk uncle.
Gentrified and beautiful? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If rent is unafordable and housing inaccessible where's the beauty? I've always wanted to live in New York City but lately the city's economy has made living there increasingly challenging.
Although Manhattan is beyond my reach with determined effort and saving up I think I can make it to the area around Kennedy International Airport like in Ozone Park or Richmond Hill or maybe close to the city limits border in Hempstead, Long Island. The crucial factor is arriving in the New York Metropolitan area with a positive attitude.

This was awesomely cool technical instruction. Tremendous amount of functionally practical self defense knowledge and comprehension concentrated within a limited duration of time.
Was wondering why when a combatives person executes a head butting strike the person executing the head butt doesn't incur a shaking of the brain concussive knockout but if someone like that Geoff Thompson guy punches your jaw line you could potentionally get knocked out?

Personally, I don't like the idea of a headbutt in a fight. I've had 3 concussions and don't need to add a 4th.

Why would you want to use your head as an impact weapon? I agree about using your head to create some space for elbows but like you admit using your head houses the brain. The distance your using the head you could use a punch palm or elbow?? 😉
You use headbutts to hit soft targets and when you do it can be very devastating without causing trauma to your brain. Remember hit soft targets not head to head.
@sillybillybadboy yep me too, but still I wouldn’t really want to use my head as an impact weapon with the risks that I could get injured, knocked out or concussion. I wear glasses so one mistake and broken glass in my eyes. Naah, elbow for me 🤘🏻🤘🏻
@@kaisermaligator203 head butt to the face is devastating. Your glasses are going to get shoved into your eyes by a punch anyway, lose them.
@@percyfaith11 yeah, yeah, yeah. I’d rather not use a head but. Much prefer an elbow to the face less chance of that glass going into my eye and damaging it. My elbow would knock your false teeth out and make you swallow them 😂😂😂
@@percyfaith11 it only takes a person to drop their head slightly and your head butt is going to turn into serious pain and damage to you, for my it’s a very low percentage option, with risks attached to it, ie my head houses my brain and there is a serious risk of me being knocked out, try it, get some one to lower their head when you try your head butt, look at what happens, the top of the head goes into your face and you get more damage to your own face and like I say possibly damage. The elbow at that distance is a higher percentage option and less likely to damage yourself. This guy a muppet!!
