Great video! I need to do this to my 21 Cx 5 Carbon Edition. The only thing I do not like about the car is the black on top and chrome on the bottom of the windows. What was Mazda thinking on that?

Been driving mine for 5 months already, wouldn't chrome delete with a matte plasti-dip not gonna lie. It's not that I like the chrome but the finish of plastidip and trust i've done it with my other cars just doesn't match shit on it and just ends up looking like a $10 mod. I'm taking it to a friend of mine that's going to roll out a custom front and rear diffuser for me and just get a titanium straight pipe done by a local shop I take my whole fleet to. The car is just designed straight up for a widebody kit so i'lm waiting for someone to get a quality one out then i'll slap on some proper 5 spoke jdm wheels on it and it'll look amazing.

Hi, from south Spain. I own an e-SkyActive-X Mazda 3 and hate chrome also. Although I have a doubt: could I black out my front emblem with smoke vinyl even when radar is placed just behind it? Thank you very much in advance.
How to remove the actual Mazda logo at the back unlock button? Is it only glued on or screwed in?

Is there a particular brand of plastidip you use?
How responsive is the brake feel? Does it have quite a pedal travel or is it sensitive/firm during initial application?
If you're asking about the gen 4s brake feel? It's kinda muted. I drove one and I didn't like it compared to my Gen 3. And even then, my Gen 3 needs new brakes. Mazdas been dropping the ball when it comes to brakes the past couple gens

Did you do the front emblem?
I want to do this on the trim pieces for my Ridgeline, but I'm worried about how it will hold up in car washes. I'm not a hand wash guy, so I take my truck through a brush car wash at least once a week.
Plastidip is very strong. I am not sure how stong for repeated brush washes? You could maybe try a small section and then after a few weeks see how its doing and if bad just peel it off.
Do you know how to remove the clear plastic over the front emblem? The front emblem would look sick with the matte black

how many cans did you use in total? jus picked my my 2020 premium hb gray exterior, i rlly wna chrome delete everything so it looks much cleaner. clean build sir, i like it a lot. also which visors did you use ?

So what about the front Emblem? I want to do this to my 2019 Mazda 3 but I want to do the front as well, I don’t see a way to take the casing off the M....
that front emblem is the radar sensor for the safety systems, tread carefully (I think there was one base model in 2019 without the safety systems, otherwise I would not cover that emblem, light rain or snow can disable the safety systems due to interfering with that sensor).

Lol, my bad. I have a 2015 model and I took the badge off an 06 Mazda 6. They're both removable. I forgot this model had the trunk release built into the badge. XD
EDIT: I meant the "mazda3" badge to the left of the emblem. Im addicted to symmetry.

Hi, is it possible to also make that black plasti dip glossy like if it was black chrome?
They do have an additional product called Glossifier that adds a little more shine

Use dental floss and just work it back and forth.
Do you have to be extra careful when you wash the car because of the plastidip?
Nope its very tough. Maybe pressure washer inches away would strip it off but paint might also come off if you tried with pressure washer.

its cheap and easy and if you dont like the results just peel it off. So go for it!
The real question how long will it stay being painted on an even surface like this. I think it will peel off after a month
its still on and perfect 6/9/21 so over 2 years

I'm more of a chrome guy. But why can't Mazda or any other brand just give customers the option to have chrome or black trims? Or even something else like brushed aluminium or whatever is possible... Shouldn't be that difficult?
it is expensive to offer options like that, Mazda is already criticized for raising the cost of their cars due to inclusion of all the new safety tech.

@@shkarabonga haha awesome. You may leave behind some ghosting behind those logos though. I used polishing compound and buffed it out and it was like there was never a logo there

I am not sure. My guess is it can be taken apart.
You can’t dechrome it, it’s encased by plastic so what I did and a lot of other people did is a dark smoke headlight tint on it
Does it endure the car wash?
we did it almost a year ago and it still looks the same. Many car wash both touchless and hand wash and no problems

Wow what a lot of work and a big chance of messing it up and looking stupid for no difference in appearance
Its spray on rubber. It has zero chance of messing anything up. If you mess up or dont like results it simply peels clean off as shown in video. Cost less than $20 bucks and it was fun. 2 years down the road if you want it off it comes clean off then also.
