regarding the fitness trackers: the polar m400 works great for me. It comes with polars h7 cheststrap style heartrate monitor witch features bluetooth connectivity and can thus be connected to the m400 watch or a smartphone (although the polar app is required if you are planning to use it with a smartphone). Polar has a good reputation for their heart rate monitors. Maybe you want to throw the m400 with the h7 into your roundup. Good for you Linus. You have a real and true commentary about tech. Some youtubers are fanboys of Apple and becomes bias to their reviews. Thank you, Linus
With the heart rate chest strap keep in mind that the straps and watches can read off other straps an watches if in to close proximity. A group of us were doing a work out and my watch was reading 202 bpm but when I took my pulse manually it was only 150 bpm.
If you are going for fitness tracking accuracy, use the Basis Peak. Tested with multiple agencies that it has less margin of error than Fitbit. It also samples heart rate 24 times a second, averages it and CONTINUOUSLY reports this each second while others range from every 5 seconds to every 10 minutes while not working out.

Difficult question answerer for the attention of Luke Lf, 1. lenses of this design only change shape when electricity is passes through them, so an EMP would leave you with good/perfect distance vision (optically 6m or beyond) but you would need reading glasses to look at things up close. This is how injected lenses work now and are standard in cataract surgery. 2. Power loss is a real problem which is why the contact lens equivalent is more promising but I believe the patent is held by Eurolens/The University of Manchester who have a working prototype. 3. If you replace your current lens you lose the ability to naturally focus from distance to near. Realistically these would not be as good as the natural lens (again showing how the contact lens is better) and indicates it would be used by those who are 50/60+ and have lost that function anyway (this happens with age). Though I highly doubt Luke will ever see this. :(

I had Charter Internet in California for a month before I moved to a different place and got Time Warner. The Charter Internet there was only 1Mb speed. When I went to transfer my internet I had to drive out to a small physical shop and do it in person, and they had very limited operating hours. I wasn't super impressed, but then again after South Korea nothing has impressed me.
I think the future should be 2 in 1's. I don't necessarily think they will be, but they should. They have the touch screens and form-factor of tablets, which is quite convenient, but also have keyboards. And honestly, it's really nice to have stuff like a tent mode.
My opinion and advice to all the companies trying to get rid of the 3.5mm Jack: I know innovation is awesome and we need to move forward. But our phones are slim enough, and I'll tell you something that's very old but holds true still today: "If it ain't broken, don't fix it"
It's funny, I live in Wisconsin and I have Charter and I've always thought Charter was a smaller company so when I heard that Charter was buying Time Warner I actually said to the person that was telling me that "Don't you mean Time Warner is buying Charter?" because I didn't even know that Charter was that big. Time Warner and Comcast are the two telecom companies in the news all the time in the U.S. so I didn't know Charter was a huge company.
Charging my phone while listening to this with headphones in right now.. surely no one is stupid enough to take that away. It would be a step backwards

@LinusTechTips, Luke, SWIFT has sent 2 engineers before to the bank. They -did- recommend to update their switches and firewall. However, if the banks don't listen to the advise, there is not much that you can do. SWIFT software is not able to detect the level of security sophistication that is setup up in a bank. Yet SWIFT company was not compromised neither, despite of all the rumors. Bangladesh is quarantined now anyway.
Re the usb audio - Cue loads of expensive dac/amp boxes that take power from type c and have a TRS/TRRS jack for output and have variable quality. I suggest that we all treat this how we treat all shitty ideas - by ignoring devices which do not contain a regular headphone jack
I actually see what intel would want to push for usb-c headphones... usb c can already do thunderbolt, dvi, hdmi, pci-e and deliver power, I don't think it's about dropping the headphone jack more than it is an effort to replace EVERY connector with usb-c , which kind of makes sense
lmao i just moved from a state that had charter and into a state that has TWC, and i couldn't be happier with who bought them. Charter is a a really reliably ISP despite having slower connections in the upper peninsula of Michigan.
52:00 it is great just let them do it. Everything will be fine you'll see. Also if it isn't then why do you care? It's money out of their pocket if it fails. Also 46:40 it wouldn't take more energy, why? you are removing it so it uses less energy then adding it back later on the line so then it adds energy. Then it's suddenly =.
Phones are still going to need an amp and dac built in, regardless of having a 3.5mm or not, unless they plan on removing the speakers from the devices as well. I feel like the the thickness a 3.5mm jack requires is very similar to that of a type c port anyway. It seems that they are trying to fix what is not broken.

Apple, I think your issue is that your products aren't thin enough, and have too many ports.

Charter is amazing. They provide internet and cable services mainly for buisnesses but they do have home set-ups.
What is the topic of this show? List of content? The one you already had in the description was great!
Unfortunately I do not have time to watch it all just to see is something is interesting for me...
Next time I hope it will be. Enjoy and bye-bye...

Watching this on my iPad 2 rn :D
who else watches all the shows in 1.5 speed :> ?
+NUCK CHORRIS To be fair your name is a bit weird.
I am if I watch it on PC but I'm watching it on phone most of the time
How is it possible, from a somewhat funny trolling comment...to shooting eachother because of their names.. Ow wait! offcourse.. youtube.
Wensis Rompas Welcome to the club!
***** Get Lost.
I don't kow why in this wan show Luke looks like Linus' pokemon evolution.
"Who's Charter?" would be the greatest question, if it were common in America.
THEY ARE EEEEEEEEVIL
As far as replacing 3.5mm with usb c, phone makers should give both usb c audio and regular audio jacks until this becomes more ubiquitous
Charging my phone while listening to this with headphones in right now.. surely no one is stupid enough to take that away.
It would be a step backwards
Even Apple so far hasn't gone THAT far
+David Mark they have
For all the talk about the MacBook having only one port it still actually has a 3.5mm headphone jack
wtf no table of contents
+Luke is ze best Now i'm watching it in x2 speed to compensate...

ya mums in my table of contents
If thickness was the problem, then they'd just use the 2.5mm (1/10") jack standard instead of the 3.5mm (1/8") one.
But using standards instead of proprietary products means less profit.
Techy 4198 That's the point that I am trying to make
packdemon ah okay got it
@LinusTechTips, Luke, SWIFT has sent 2 engineers before to the bank.
Luke's working ... finally.

Re the usb audio - Cue loads of expensive dac/amp boxes that take power from type c and have a TRS/TRRS jack for output and have variable quality. I suggest that we all treat this how we treat all shitty ideas - by ignoring devices which do not contain a regular headphone jack
welcome to the 360p club :D
+Weird Ass In Australia, 360 club continues even after higher resolutions are unlocked...
+FrenchToast so true :(
I'm still at the 720p club :(
Waiting for a wanshow where you bring back guests!
I actually see what intel would want to push for usb-c headphones... usb c can already do thunderbolt, dvi, hdmi, pci-e and deliver power, I don't think it's about dropping the headphone jack more than it is an effort to replace EVERY connector with usb-c , which kind of makes sense
Sorry for your loss Linus.
Suddenly HD
RIP internet
for the hearthrate sensor you might wanna look at medisana, they have loads of medical equipment but also activity trackers
Is this a good PC? Intel® Core™ i5-6600
Asus GeForce GTX980 STRIX 4GB
16GB DDR4-2666 Kingston HyperX RAM
lmao i just moved from a state that had charter and into a state that has TWC, and i couldn't be happier with who bought them. Charter is a a really reliably ISP despite having slower connections in the upper peninsula of Michigan.
any of the garmin or suunto HRM straps and all the decent straps use ANT+ which is for GPS watches and cycling GPS head units.
Flo Rida's "My House" song is just a re-adapted Bill Withers "Lean On Me" its no wonder people love it, its based on a song they already love
+Slayerfish Yeah thats the shtick for most mainstream artists these days. Throw some catchy nonsense over a sample of a real piece of music.
+The Relic I agree. its really sad to see a popular artist not use their own innovation . This cookie-cutter pop, rap and country has to change.
A basic Garmin running watch and chest strap would be great to benchmark off. Like the FR 25
Lol, that Flo Rida song always reminds me of WrestleMania 32.
First :p timestamps on the way guys.
The WII thing should be a channel super fun.
So recently bought a Polar H7 heart rate monitor, and a fitbit charge HR
Two type C ports on phone, both exactly the same, you can charge, sync, audio, over either port.
When Linus said "you've got 5 inches on him" Luke should've said "Yeah...and I'm taller too"
