Check the thermostat first, it could be in upside down! Always do the easiest thing first and never take for granted what someone else might have done. I learned that lesson the hard way, when I was an auto mechanic.
Had visions of that fan shroud letting go, and you getting really injured. Was nervous the whole time you were on top of the radiator Jeff. Don't do that again, please.
Ported is always used on vacuum advance, unless specified, which hasn't happened (That I know of) since the 60's and earlier. Gasoline burns at a rate of .003 seconds. As engine speed increases, there is less time available for the expanding gasses to push the piston down. Therefore advancing the timing compensates for engine speed to get the most out of the expansion. Manifold vacuum will run the dist fully advanced at idle instead of base timing.

wish you could show what and where the butterfly is or the heat crossover; cuz need to fix my cousins truck (same as the one on the video).

what would be a reason for the tempature guage to stay at the hottest a ground if so on these trucks where do i find the ground
I cant remember if you have said this before or not but do you recommend ported or manifold vacuum on a stock 350 without any sort of emissions items?
