This 1978 Cadillac Coupe DeVille is a highly-optioned coupe that keeps its original character in a classic Carmine Red lacquer. Topping the package off with leather and power options, it's the perfect gateway to high-end Detroit luxury at an entry-level price. Don't miss your chance on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity before the value curve starts moving upward!
Not devoid of all character like so many fresh frame-off restorations, this Cadillac's finish carries just the right amount of wear under a lovely patina and soft shine that simply cannot be duplicated with today's perfected paint processes. Originally referred to as GM code 80 Carmine Red, the car's vivid hue looks completely appropriate and has a good amount of shine under the Cabriolet roof finished in code 11 Cameo White. Those fenders are original sheetmetal and the condition of the chrome trim is a product of the car's extremely low miles. And on the driver's side rear window you'll even find the remains of the car's original emission sticker still attached to the window.
Cadillac always had a fondness for using big displacement engines, and the 425 cubic inch L33 V8 that powers this Coupe DeVille is a testament to that. Built to idle silently and pull the heavy car along with ease, it's backed by GM's stalwart TH400 3-speed automatic.
Swing open those long doors to find a welcoming and perfectly preserved two-tone interior that crowns a front and rear white leather bench on top of clean red carpet. A long red dash is accented by familiar wood grain trim, and you'll find all of the luxuries you'd expect in a highly-optioned Cadillac of this era.
Nice cars like this Caddy are virtually impossible to find. They're usually rusty heaps or half-baked restorations that show questionable work due to justifying the expense of a correct restoration on a car of this vintage. That's why low-mileage originals like this one are so special. Don't miss your opportunity to own probably the nicest, lowest-mileage, all original Coupe DeVilles available! My grandma drove one of these throughout the 80's and 90's when I was growing up. I remember how smooth and comfortable the ride was.

Sounds good. If I had that car, the first thing and the only thing I would change is the timing chain and gears.

It's missing its painted on pinstripe. If highly option as it states, where's the pinstripe along sides and deck lid. This tells me it's been repainted and not original as it claims.
I have a 78 Coupe in Cotillion white. Mulberry interior and vinyl top. And mines is all option, even has the Astroroof.

Hi ! I have a 1978 cadillac deville. It always run good and taking care of it. I went away for two weeks , when i came back the engine was turning perfectly but when passing the gear the car was taking a moment to drive, then i realyzed i had a transmission fluid leak ( red fluid) where i parked it. I stoped straight away to drive it and will take my saturday to check it out. Anyone has a tips ? Transmission fluid leak? Where it could be from ( the few possibilities) what tools do i need? And where i can locate the leak? I was thinking to level the fluid and put a white piece of paper under the engine to see where it was liking from. Could it be a hoes ? Thanks a lot if anyone take time to help me with a message. I love my car and cant afford changing so need to fix it by myself. C
