Elijah hall, I apologize for not replying go your comment but I remember you asking do you think that you could put that into my radio too. I cannot give you the frequencys or put those channels into your radio because there repeaters are private and you would have to talk to the public safety agency that owns the repeaters. If you have any more questions let me know
No... these are commercial radios the only commercial radio I have seen with FPP is a XTS or APX with federal Q53 FPP flashed into it, and those are not cheap or easy to get. what you are referencing to is service mode. and all that does is display the radios serial/model/firmware numbers.
you need to get a GMRS license and set the frequency to your preferred GMRS channel if you know how to program it. If you don't take it to a Motorola dealer. Also you will need to announce your callsign before and at the end of every transmission or every 15 min. (legally) : )
Just program each for simplex (same frequency) on both transmit (TX) and receive (RX). Make sure you're not using a channel that is already allocated. Check your local band plan. Use FRS/GMRS, or MURS channels depending on your frequency. Make sure your transmit power is within specification. Know what you're doing, if you do it wrong you could accidentally cause interference on an important channel for someone else.
Be sure you are following the channel power rules, and bandwidth, also channels 7-14 are FRS ONLY, do not transmit on those at all. Make sure you are doing the right thing!
No these radios use a sophisticated type of Motorola software cps 2.0 it has very few flaws in the software unlike the baofeng type software this is the best kind of radio you can get it is a public safety radio not very easy to get and its not cheap. If you have any questions or how to get one let me know
That’s great the SO approved you into their comms network.
I saw those radios at my local building. They always use the text messaging feature mostly
good stuff. I just got mine up and running I was curious to see how people are using it.
Well ive got a completely different codeplug now. But i can do an update video soon......

Repeaters are public information, tax payer funded. RR database you can find all the information needed to program radios to listen to repeaters….
Are you like a FD or law enforcement explorer. Still even if you are there's not going to give you frequency info maybe a Rx frequency but that's all.
FD now, I have everything now in the county, I am also a ham now, the TX info is easy to find too if you know what your doinf.
Isnt there a way to enter program mode on the radio and program channels that way?

@@KQ4LNZ it sucks that I will have to take it to a motorola dealer to have channels programmed into it but I guess it is what it is...or I sell it ;)
Old work is throwing these away and I think its program to only 2 channels. Any way to reset/factory reset these back to normal?
Any way I could get another? I would buy one from you…
i would buy one to
hey, how can i use 2 of these xpr7550 as a walkie talkie?

I am a GMRS licensed I know what I'm doing also Motorola only allows 12.5 kilohertz in there software now. But thank you for the advise.
@@KQ4LNZ You can get the 25khz entitlement, you just need to do the training from Motorola...
Nah screw all that as long as the frequency is right nobody cares, not even the FCC lmao
GMRS won't work if the repeater and radio is programmed at different khz. I have a GMRS license as well and know this to be true.
How to lock and unlock keyboard?
Can you get 102.3 on this?
unfortunately not nice jeep by the way
@@KQ4LNZ your breath stinks
thanks
Nice Radios are they all programmed from a computer or from the keypad itself ?
