Wow, Kayla, it worked! I couldn't get rid of the image square frame box surrounding a circular frontmatter picture when exporting to reflowable epub. I've been working on this for 2 days off and on with many attempts including taking CSS tutorials. I applied your tip, exported, and like magic, the box disappeared leaving the circular image! Thank you very much for your tip!
@@beckysgraphicdesign Didn't find the solution but did a trick. I just group the PNG with other objects or backgrounds and then apply these settings. And it works.
Thank you so much for this video. White background problem has been resolved ❤but the hyperlinks are not working. Please help to make hyperlink aslo clickable. Thanks.
Are your hyperlinks added to an image or a string of text? Make sure that the hyperlink is not wrapped (meaning, it's all on one line) and that the WHOLE URL is there, not a shortened version. Lastly, check your export settings to make sure that Interactive Elements are enabled.
Hi! This explanation it's ok for objects, but when you applied this procedure in text frames this rasterize the text and all reading and searching capabilities of the text on epub is lost. Any advice?
Interesting! You get a white box behind your text frames? I don't know if I've run into that problem before. Would your book be a candidate for a Kindle Create Print Replica (which will retain the "live" text you're looking for)? ua-cam.com/video/bbVmW-H-I0s/v-deo.html
@@beckysgraphicdesign Thank you, Becky! I didn't know that tool, It's very usefull. InDesing text box exportation issue seems to be another InDesign bug. I hope Adobe will develop an special Digital Publications software solution tool in the future.
Hi I have a question,, When I am export children's book 8.5x8.5 that's a print book But my client's needs full page ebook look like print book.. But on kindle previewer showing white border that not looks good Please give me advice
Hey! I tried this technique, in the result it makes all white areas transparent, even in the center of an image. Did anybody have the same issue? In the thumbnail you have an image with white letters, while in the video you work with a vector shape. Will it work with an image as well?
@@beckysgraphicdesign Well, I tried to replicate settings from the video. Object Export Settings set to Rasterize container/GIF/Adaptive (no dither). EPUB (fixed layout). Looks like all the white areas get transparent, not just the corners.
Hi Kayla, thank you for sharing!!
Thank-you so much for taking the time to make this video. I was pulling my hair out trying to fix this. 🙌
You are so welcome!

You're so welcome! Yeah, I was super frustrated over this as well!
You really helped me... I was just wandering around looking for solution. Thanks alot.
So happy to help!
Very interesting.
Wonderful. Thanks!
Our pleasure!
This trick solved the problem of the vector objects, but not the imported PNG.
Hmmmm.......... maybe try playing around with the settings to see if you can work around it? I'd like to know if there's a solution to it!

Does the border extend all the way around, on all 4 sides of the image, or just 2 sides?
how to do the same for PDF export?
You're getting white backgrounds on a PDF? An interactive or print PDF?

It should. When you import the file, what transparency settings are you using? And what type of file?
