THE THINGS YOU'LL NEED:
Spice Cake:
-1 1/2 cups cake flour
-1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
-1 teaspoon baking powder
-1 teaspoon baking soda
-1/2 teaspoon salt
-2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
-1 teaspoon ground cloves
-1 teaspoon ground ginger
-1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
-2 sticks (8 ounces) unsalted butter at room temperature
-1 cup packed light brown sugar
-3/4 cup granulated sugar
-1/4 cup honey
-4 large eggs
-2 teaspoons vanilla extract
-1 cup buttermilk
Decoration:
-Swiss buttercream
-Brown food coloring
-Edible white candy pearls
-Round chocolate candy
-Fondant: brown, dark brown, cream, black, white, green, red

I got both or Ro's cookbooks last Christmas and everything I've made from them so far has been AMAZING! I was going to make this for Christmas this year, but I was a little nervous. Being able to see Ro do this makes me more comfortable. I'm so excited!

My dad loves spice cake but since he is on a low sodium and dairy free diet for health reasons, i couldn't get store bought cake mixes. Found yours, made it (Though i used lactose free milk with lemon in place of buttermilk). Turned out beautiful, and i also went a bit more heavy on the spices and added some allspice as well. Tastes fantastic! Today is his birthday so im excited to show him the cake
