He is the best and most complete player EVER, no doubt. Some players like Fan or Xu might be better in 1 element of the game, Xu might be more fun to watch, but Ma Long is simply the best. For me Ma Long is like better version of Timo Boll, allround player. Ma Lin, Ryu Seung Min, Wang Liquin, Wang Hao all of them had some weaknesses, Ma Long doesn't. Plus he has the best mental. XuXin/FanZhendong/ZhangJike could beat MaLong in a few important games, but in the 7th always played godlike :D I remember many games like that. Even though he is not in his peak form I think he should win.

No,Timo has a weak short game and his serve is rather average.Ma Long has mix of Kong Linghui's counterloop abilities with Ma Lin's touch and variation skills.

I have a friend from Panama called Eduardo. but anyways, most Chinese super league players can play on other nation teams, in CHINA, if Ma Long wasn't so good, they would have force him to retired. But Ma long is just on another level by himself. Maybe he will be force to retire after the Olympic.

I think there are players with better understanding, but Ma simply has the best speed, control and mental. He is the true champion, best player that has ever lived. Ryu could have better footwork, Shangkun/MaLin better serves, Fan better bananaflips, but these player had/have some weaknesses. MaLong has no weakness at all. His play is quite simple, but he is just too strong and too precise. If you had great tactic, you could have beaten Ryu Seung Min, use his weaker backhand side, with Ma there is no chance

ML proved that one can still win by doing less than 5 banana flicks. He's very tactical. ML's slower than LGY but clearly LGY just flicked and flicked and flicked. ML was prepared for it. LGY just kept getting into ML's trap.
Lin Gaoyuan missing everything: Ma's serve, opportunities to open etc.. Never got into the match really. Ma played strong and consistent, and there was no way back the way Lin was mis-firing.
