Thank you for your most extensive and interesting video - I can't wait for the weekend to see what gems of information you have for us each week. Jenny (Leschenault Western Australia)

Aloha Vaughan, Thank you so much for this video on chattering. I didn't realize 30 different tools, Wow! Chattering will be my next adventure in clay. Thank you for the inspiration. Have a glorious day. (Hawaiian Islands) with much Aloha.

I have bought a few tools but all the tools seem to be for right handed design. I may have to try to make some myself. I could watch anything you do, it is all so informative. Thank you!

Some of the tools are sharp on both sides, you should ask Bill which ones work that way.

Morning vaughan. I love chattering with a mental rib. Holding it in different ways. Mahes a beautiful mark.even the corner of the rib.
Love the way you teach. Also, love when your wife does her little videos. Lorraine from Adelaide, south Australia.

Sometimes I do chattering…. But not on purpose. 😂 I learned a lot, thank you!

Excellent demonstrations Vaughan. Without seeing how the wheel speed affects chattering patterns, novices might never escape the experimental stage.

I barely scratched the surface of what you can do with these.😀

You seem to have the wheel going much faster than I would have expected

Faster gets texture, slower makes pattern, it also depends on the soft/hard clay condition.

Interesting demonstration! I like the noise of chattering more than the textures. Lol. The vertical lines are appealing, but the others seem too random or mechanical for me. I think I want more coherent pattern or language or something.

I will do a demo on slower pattern using them. I prefer texture than pattern but I see the need.

Interesting experiment, do you remember the ones you like, and with those favourites can you regularly get the same chattering pattern. I'm new to chattering and at present time the tool that chatters for me is the black do all trim tool, from Mudtools when I don't hold it right when trimming😊

Yes the tools are predictable. The clay condition has a lot to do with the pattern made or the texture created.
