I got pirate legend mostly as a solo player, best tip i could personally give is this: when you start a session you should get yourself 2 essential things... a rowboat and a supply crate. Put EVERYTHING that was in a barrel on your ship in said supply crate and put it between the cannons on the ship... Now you have easy access to everything in a central location and if shit hits the fan and you're getting sunk... well all your supplies are not gonna end up on the ocean floor they'll be in the crate... The rowboat I use as a disctraction most of the time. I'll put something shiny on it and if someone starts to chase me, i'll angle my ship straight, get on the rowboat and detach. You'd be surprised how many pirates go for the rowboat because they can see something shiny on it with a player rowing towards em... meanwhile your ship is safely getting away and when you'll die you'll respawn on it safe and sound.
I don't agree with putting everything in a supply crate. Maybe 1/3 - 1/2, but if you put it all in a crate that makes it easy for any boarders to instantly dump all of your supplies. Plus they get way more out of sinking you if you lose.
When I play solo I like to do commodity runs, it's quick, profitable and not too risky. Phantom fortresses are good too but I find commodities more efficient
Yeah like its almost like scout missions in other recon games, as someone who's focused more on their surroundings you can even do stuff like turn your lights off (which you should do anyway except in special cases) and be silent so you can listen to those boarding sounds
All I play is solo, you can literally do everything a full crew can do just make more stops to sell and your g , I love balancing everything during a fight it's like it's own mini game balancing repairs , shooting and steering
Gonna be honest about the lantern advice... Ain't no one missing any ships with their lanterns off. Ship silhouettes stick out to much like a sore thumb.
@@MrOskiee I think the key is when actively searching you will never miss the spotting of ship. But, when you are preoccupied or just making quick glances out on the horizon while navigating, there is definitely a chance you would miss spotting a ship with no lanterns on.
I have a designated co-captain (bought me the game) but I generally do a LOT of solo slooping. I've managed to slip around doing several island hops and skeleton orders on top of underwater shrines for a good couple hundred thousand gold payout in around 3 or so hours. It can be profitable but anxiety ridden. Also helps you learn navigation points.
Don’t stack a lot of loot if you’re soloing, Always sell to a outpost that is along the route on your planed trip, saves/manages time and keeps you progressing.
The right attitude thing is pretty true. I lost about three hours of work thanks to a dude messing with my ship while I was soloing a Skull Fort. I was at the boss wave and had done a ghost fort and two skeleton ships prior. I was pretty salty but a bit later I took on a skeleton fleet event everyone else on the server was ignoring and the pay off was pretty sweet. Be great if more people were into joining alliances, they'd make way more gold per hour that way for a lot less work.
If I need to solo I typically solo brig. it's not that much harder to repair and you can outrun sloops if you need to. it will look intimidating to some and you just straight up get from point A to point B faster. That being said nothing beats the comradery and hilarity of a crew experience.
I play a solo Brig i named Toodles. It’s a lot of fun and not too much different than a sloop. I like the extra speed which makes my ghost fort and treasury runs a lot easier. Plus it makes bluffing a ton easier. More than once I have rolled up to a fortress where a sloop is and they run away.(it might just be because I have the legendary feared title but who knows.) The only problem is fighting solo. Too many things need doing
@@Peter-xj8wj Go to brigantine open crew and you have a high chance to learn how to solo brigantine, but I would never recommend soloing a galleon, everything takes so long to do, bailing water out, anchor, sails, on a brigantine it's so easy, you raise the sails a bit before the island banner appears and then you raise both completely when the banner appears, perfect parking every time, also repairing holes isn't a problem and it doesn't fill too quickly
Never solo a galleon. It's just TOO big. You need to run three decks down and up to bail it out fix holes and while yes you do have a cool cabin your main sail is in the middle and out of easy reach for the helm, and it's just a massive hassle with navigation not to mention turning speed. As far as Soloing a brig I tend to stick to the logic of treat it like a sloop most of the time. For most things you really only need the back sail which is within easy reach of the helm. When you have a need for speed then set your course and open both. If you need to be able to see where you are going just turn them both to either side and you can see pretty easily. In combat it's best to take it in small bites and make sure to have a crate of cannon balls on deck to avoid the need to run down the stairs all the time. Keep wood below deck and if you are midcombat i'd recomend sticking to only repairing the middle and back of the ship, the front is a bit of a walk in mid combat and has the least holable areas, unless you have unusualy fast flooding which means a large hole in the front. For bailing just stand ont he stairs and look down scoop and up toss. Map room also has a handy peaking spot which is the grate at the front of the ship. Not as convient as the sloops turn around and see the map but it helps when identifying landmarks.

Solo slooping is the best way to get good at all aspects of sailing in this game and makes you a way better crew member when you party up with friends. My advice to new players every time is to play with someone to give you a feel for the best way to sail and then solo sloop a few times so that you can put everything into practice and get used to worrying about every aspect. You'll be the best crew member on any ship if you can do everything well
I lose ALOT in fights. Since I started playing around the time of the hungering deep event I just run from fights. When I fight another player I die in seconds. I only won twice. One with a friend against a sloop that thought was a good idea to shoot us at an outpost and after a chase we fought and actually won due to their experience being less than ours and we sunk them. I was solo slooping and went after a reaper and he sunk cause he was damaged but tried to sneak on with a chest of sorrows which I heard while I was getting his loot. I saw his mermaid so I knew he was around and when I hear noises I raise my sail but he got on. I actually managed to kill him (he also said he surrendered as he sunk and yet snuck on. NEVER trust reapers.
