      Hahahaha! I’ve always done my best at making straight rows back when I used to mow hay for our dairy farm and rake the hay, and even the lawns when I had my own lawn mowing business before I started vegetable farming, but you are right, crooked rows produce just as much!

    Hey, I'm new to your videos. Ive learned so much from ya man. Your channel was recommended to me from watching random garden videos since about April. Just figured I'd let ya know that. It means a whole lot more people are coming soon! So you might have a whole other job here before you know it!!! I'd say you got a year lol. It's the least I can do is subscribe and comment here and there for all the free content you provide. Wish you luck this year. Thanks in advance.

    So glad I found your channel. My dream is to start a farm business similar to yours. Would love to see more content on the business side of things like how you plan out your crops for harvest times, estimate yields, where/how to sell, which crops provide best profits, etc. One of the things that is hardest for me to wrap my head around is how you can have a consistent income in those months when there’s nothing to harvest. Thanks for the great content!

    • @wishwellfarms
      @wishwellfarms  2 місяці тому

      This is a very loaded question. Many of these things I’ve already answered in videos earlier this spring, but I will be going into more depth on some of this in the off season when I’m looking for content. As far as the consistent income, we just draw from our accounts during the off season that have been built up during our 5 month season. There is absolutely no money being made on our farm for 7 months a year, and this is the way I want it because we travel a lot. This could easily be extended to 9-10 months with high tunnels that we used to use but we sold them in 2017. Our greenhouses could also be utilized more if we chose. but this is still better than being a grain farmer who make their income in basically 1 month other than selling stored grain from the bins.

    Great video. I think I will try your pre emerge next season I use prowl h2o with atrazine in corn and just prowl h2o everywhere else. I put down 400ft of plastic and planted BOLT on april 21 Shot up like a bean stalk will be picking corn by end of month .Wow.

    • @wishwellfarms
      @wishwellfarms  4 місяці тому

      Awesome! Yeah, I’ve heard of people using prowl, but I’ve never tried it. Usually, we would put down a generic version of bicep 2 magnum with my burn down of round up and 24d but this year I skipped the pre-emergent and just did the burn down and when the weeds start coming back, that’s when I put down the 3/4 of an ounce of impact with a pint of atrazine and 1 gallon of MSO per 100 gallons of water, works great and kills everything as long as it’s not too big. And I try to always do it before corn in knee high.

      There’s not a magic bullet herbicide, some can be sprayed over certain vegetables and some cannot. Some work better for broadleaves some for grasses so this is two broad of a question and I would need more specifics.
