@@Mostly_Positive_Reviews you can actually fix the npc draw distance with a mod. Ironically you use the no npc's mod which is meant to remove all npc's from view except for essential ones to save performance, but if you tweak the ini file for it you can raise the draw distance higher than vanilla which stops them popping in
The main difference with respect to other open world games is how the NPCs have systemic interactions such as physics with each other, with you and with items in the scenario. I think this is kinda engines problem. Or to be more precise engine was not built with mutliple AIs doing more advanced things than patrol, follow, attack in mind (and you can drop it on CPU without a lot of thinking). So because they are either not that smart or have no good engine devs they didn't re-write AI part of their engine. But it is Japanese thing. Like they still code a lot of stuff like it is '90s for some reason (physics bound to framerate).
The game runs an accurate simulation where each NPC mentally debates crunchy vs smooth peanut butter. You can't see it, but it adds to the immersion, and is well worth the CPU resources.
I hope MH Wilds on PC at launch doesn’t have these kind of issues that DD2 has. Wilds is supposed to be a much more open game (either pure open world or the individual biomes are more open in size) compared to MHW. I know MHW also had a rough PC launch from Capcom
Thanks for this review, I was on the verge of buying it since its on sale but will not do so until they fix the stuttering as it ruins the experiance for me personally when I tried it for the free weekend few months ago.
I convinced someone else to buy it and he hates me to this day 🤣 I told him it runs badly but it's a good game, but he couldnt stomache the stutters and low performance and refunded after 30 minutes.
Thanks for checking out. This a decent boost, but still far from perfect. I bet once the devs remove Denuvo, the game will become perfectly playable for the owners of midrange CPUs. Since Capcom usually removes the DRM in a year after game launch, it is safe to say that their games are worth playing once they are a year old - they should be in perfectly playable state, fully patched and free from any DRM.
Yeah, I tried it on my 12400F just now and I can get a smooth experience...if I lock it to 30 fps... On higher end CPUs Denuvo doesnt really make that big a difference, but in some games it can be brutal on mid- to lower end SKUs.

My solution has been to try to document problematic games regularly but also have 10TB storage on PC to keep many recent AAA games installed and disable auto updates on Steam. Yeah, if we could maybe get the option to select a previous version from Steam, like they do with Betas it would help. Probably not the best solution, especially for multiplayer games, but I too wish it was easier to be able to compare previous versions.
I've been absolutely blown away with the engine they have built and its versatility but once they started going open world, I was excited seeing Dragons Dogma 2 using it but then the hands on experience has had its chance to leave an impression and now I am absolutely worried about Monster Hunter: Wilds. This engine sucks down performance just utilizing NPCs that really don't add much to the overall gameplay, so what's going to happen when the game has to use the CPU to push monsters AI in the open world for all the actions like grazing, running, fighting the herd mentality AI. While I didn't refund Dragons Dogma 2 it's made me hold off on getting too hyped for MH and now, I'm going to wait until MH gets tested and see how good or bad the performance is, and it might get skipped over if it performs like this or worse.

I could always run the game natively before but I remember it being gu bound and some areas the frames would dip, mainly the city but to my surprise I ran the game today and barely noticed considerable drops maybe 5 frames and at most 10, still an improvement
What CPU do you have? I have seen many videos where the latest patch improved performance considerably with AMD CPUs. Both my 12700K and 14600K are well below the performance uplifts seen by users using 5000 and 7000 series Ryzen CPUs.
So I just got it and I’m having random stutters while fighting enemies. Just so random. May not happen for 30 minutes and then all of the sudden it happens. Just wondering if this is normal?
Yeah, there are still stutters outside of the city, and in combat it really is annoying. The devs claimed something about the pawn system but it's really bad.
Im going kind of crazy trying to get this to run correctly I have a 4090 / 14900k with DLSS set to Quality and I cannot get higher than 50 fps no matter what I do. Turning ray tracing on and off produces no change in the fps, this seems broken
Game is definitely still a bit brojen, but you shoild be able to get more than 50 fps with your CPU for sure. What RAM do you have? Is XMP enabled? Apart from that the only thing I can think of is maybe your refresh rate is set incorrectly in game and v-sync is enabled. The game often changes my refresh rate to 50hz.
Yeah still not getting good FPS on my 1660 super and my I5-12400f at low settings. I also still get major drops randomly. I still go from 40-60+ fps to 10-20 fps and lower in spots that make 0 sense.
I have been very critical of this game since it launched, up to a point where I thought it might define my whole personality as being negative. I like the game itself, but the stuttering is inexcusable, and it ruins the experience for me. So much so that I stopped playing.
@@Mostly_Positive_Reviews same here. I love the franchise to death, but I have a suspicion Capcom doesn't share our love, and now that Itsuno left the company I have lost almost all faith for a DLC, or a sequel, for this IP.
Game cost me $70. And then I have to turn to mods to fix it? That's not okay. It's good that there are mods to fix it, but it's not unreasonable to expect the devs to fix their own product, especially considering the cost.
In general, there might be some slight visual issues, and it does increase input latency slightly as well. If your framerate is high enough the input latency penalty is less, and it is less noticeable. The same goes for the visual artifacts, if the framerate is high enough it is barely noticeable in most games.
I personally didn't see too much of an improvement in frame rates on my PC but I did notice less stutters and a way smoother frametimes graph. 7800X3D with 4090, but the game autoupdated so didnt get the chance to run the previous version before the patch, just drawing from memory of how it ran in the past
I saw someone else also with a 7800X3D mention the game was much better for them, which makes me wonder whether the optimizations in this update work better on AMD CPUs perhaps. Unfortunately I dont have an AMD testbench yet, but working on it.
@@Mostly_Positive_Reviews the stutters were so bad before for me it would make the VRR on my oled monitor flicker so much it was horrible to see, now with the patch its butter smooth which in turn means VRR is not stressed to the limits lol, also ryzen 7700x here.

Cyberpunk performance is worse after all the dlc and updates..you need to drop the settings now on a 3060ti .. before I could play at over 60 to 100 fps at max settings minus the raytracing..
@@71igfffvsorry CP runs bad for you. It runs fine on my pc. I am aware the after the dlc the performance in CP took a hit. But still runs and looks better that DD2
@@Ryan-xn3mt am done with it anyway..will go back to it when I get a 5070 or 5090 next June . But they screwed over the weaker GPUs when they introduced that dog Town..yes will still be good if you have a 4070ti ..4080 ..4090 ..but even then you still need upscaling and frame gen to use all the bells and whistles..I was happy with a constant high frame rate
still low gpu usage missing 30% gpu raw power this isn't fixed
Yep, still pretty messed up.
Aside from the performance, did anyone notice how absolutely ugly DLSS and FSR look on this game?? What went wrong there lmao
This game has one of the worst upscaling implementations ever for sure. I spoke about it in one of my earlier videos as well.
I guess they trying to fix it, so people jump on when DLC release next year
Typical huge AAA games.. release a broken things, then update them after 6-12 months
Developers are not bad.. it's probably the Publisher who forced things with small release window, resulting in unfinished game (at least from optimizations side).. the good part is I got it for $45, if I paid $70 I would be more upset Lol
Yeah, that makes sense. And I agree, it's not necessarily the individual devs themselves. I unfortunately am one of the people that bought it for $70 hahaha!
the game is cpu hog mess, basically improve nothing. Only high end cpu can see the difference because theyre high end 😂😂😂. Trash game btw
It probably has to do with Denuvo being in the game.
FPS is irrelevant.
It's the frame time that's important.
30 fps with smooth frame time is a better experience than 160 fps with poor frame time.
Many gamers still don't understand this.
Yeah, look at the comments. People are in disbelief because I complain about the performance but I am getting 180 fps. 180 fps means nothing if it stutters all over and lows are 1/3 of that, it means it's a very inconsistent experience.
im on 2500$ Samsung 65'" 4K 120hz VRR TV crystal clear image quality and your video look very blurry. like it was upscaled from 720p to 1080p, or is just lossless softwar.
Sounds like you're using an S95B/C, am I right?
@@frantz4g63 yes
4:22 poor dear..
Luckily the video cut before I killed the second ox!
The game is still stuttering like crazy for me it's unplayable!
Yeah, I tried it on my 12400F and it's really unplayable still. And then we have Monster Hunter Wilds coming out soon using the same engine. Going to be a mess for sure!
remove Denuvo and it will be much better
Just when im warping to pc nice.
Welcome!
MH world was fine. i dont get why the engine struggles so hard with this game
Yeah, for some reason this game struggles with NPCs.
My guess is there is a lot of stuff happening in the background. lots of unoptimized code, world events, quest parameters updating due to time of day and NPCs with schedules.
Monster Hunter World still uses MT Framework. They used RE engine on MH Rise.
10 fps is HUG !
The issue is the lows and stuttering still unfortunately.
wait till denuvo is removed and watch what happens.
If you look at a comparison of hogwarts legacy cracked vs denuvo you can see a clear difference in performance, I know the RE engine maybe not the best choice for this kind of game but it's not just the engine that is the problem
Test on ps5
Sure. Can you send me one please?
@@Mostly_Positive_ReviewsBAHAHAHAHA
@@fenixa2z936 I guess that's a no then?
"I don't know what these guys are doing" coming from someone who has no idea about game development
So I'm not allowed to criticize a game's poor performance because I dont know anything about game development?
It doesn't take a developer to notice stuttering, and stuttering isn't some sort of industry standard
@@Mostly_Positive_Reviews Maybe leave out the part that's not a criticism next time
This is the third patch aimed at improving CPU performance, yet it's still a mess. So yes, I have no idea what they are doing, and that is valid criticism.
If you don’t like his criticism don’t watch. But he’s not wrong. This game needed more time in the oven. Most games need more time in the oven. But they rush games out to satisfy the never ending greed of their shareholders.
DLSS makes the game Ugly.
180 fps+
youtuber: the performance is terrible.
🙄
Imagine thinking the highest framerate is all there's to it when it comes to performance.
🙄
Hey ignorant individual, 180 fps is not good if its stuttery as hell with frame pacing issues.
