Hello UnixGuy. I want to do 4 GIAC certs: GCIH, GIRF, GCTI and GCIP. I will probably sign up for the 3rd method which is the work study program. I know it's a little old but do you still recommend the work study program today? If you do then I will do it. Thank you for the informative video!

Hi UnixGuy 👋 Thank you so much for beneficial information. It necessary to have a experience before taking this training. Appreciate if you can do a video regarding SANS training (they are practical or theoretical and etc).
Hi Ali, some SANS training have pre-requisite some don’t, you’ll need to read the description of each training before doing it, it’ll contain all the information that you need
Thanks for the videos. If I may ask, is there any other site you are aware that I can cybersecurity Certificate as a beginner for a very cheaper rate. I tried out comp TIA security+ as you said however its still very much expensive for me. I'm still a student with no source of income and the dollar rate in my country is extremely high. Its serious difficult for me to pay $326 for security + training not to talk of the GCFA or GCIH.
Not at the moment, but in my next video (coming in the next few days), I go over some cheaper alternatives. it’s still an investment. There are free university courses called MOOCS where you can learn for free, you need to Google that as I havent used that in a long time
@@rferabelgrab your 🥚 🥚 and get a job man there are no hand outs in this world, work hard and save. If you really wanted the certification you’d work overtime even as a student and save for that certification. You don’t want it bad enough.
Just a minor clarification. These are not SANS certifications. They’re GIAC certifications. SANS is a training organization that offers training for the GIAC certs. They’re sister companies, but these are not SANS certifications.
So these two certifications (GCFA and GCFE) are the hallmark that allows you to work on crime scenes, computer forensics, etc? As mentioned, I'm in school for a four year in CS, but these are the most expensive certs I've ever seen lol and if you fail the test I assume you pay full price to take it again?
I wouldn’t say hallmark, as a lot goes into the hiring process more than just certs. In this video I go through the field of forensics, and offer some cheaper alternatives: ua-cam.com/video/f452CYRijFo/v-deo.html
@@UnixGuyInteresting. I will check it out. I can't imagine paying 7 to 8k for a cert, but I assume a BAS in CS alone won't take me far without certain certs.

I have applied for SANS bachelors, however they are advising to take undergraduate certificate in Cybersecurity for getting a job. my problem with their degree program is the price tag. You could pay the same money and get a degree from the best universities in the world like Carnegie Melon for example
