    I'm challenging the GSEC. I finally paid up and now waiting for approval.
    I'm building an index off a CISSP study guide, a couple condensed guidebooks, and handwritten notes.
    I seriously hope I'm not burning 2k on a failing grade.

    Great points. I have 2 weeks to get an IT cert. I've chosen to take the GLSC as my job is dependent on this. I am trying to get all of the books and studying materials without paying the $6800, is that the only option that I have to get the materials? Thanks.

    4 days is more than enough if you already know - or at least understand - everything, but if this is the case why do you bother preparing. So basically the advise: know magically everything so you won't need time for preparing, good luck.

      @@Timanator Thanks so much. I'm thinking of just using a 401K loan. Question: I make nearly 100k at my current job. How realistic is it to think I can make close to that starting out in INFOSEC? (With the right certifications of of course.) Right now I'm on a 5 year plan to get out of security contractor work, and looking for something a little less physically demanding. One other option I'm considering is creating an independent business and doing IT work part-time, on the side until I get established in the industry.
      Your thoughts? Thanks again!

    • @TheGustavo66
      @TheGustavo66 5 років тому +2

      It's better to create your own. The focus on making your index is that you can design it however it better helps you navigate.
      I made mine like:
      |Title of slide - Page | Info out of section|
      Bullet points with more info if need be.
      I passed my GCIH early this year and taking GPEN next month, I'm working on my index right now.
