I just learned how to crochet like 2 months ago and so far I’ve made a beanie, a laying mat for our cats, and chunky throw blanket, and a handful of popcorn for a crochet popcorn garland! In 2025 I’ll be working on my popcorn garland and making three blankets 😊 I want to practice different stitch types and prepare to make clothing and stuffed animals in 2026! Happy crocheting! ❤

Awesome! I need to make lots of these! I feel like a lot of crochet stitches have more vertical stretch than horizontal stretch, so working garments in vertical stripes might result in something neater up top and more fitted?
Yes! I think you’re onto something with the vertical stretch idea! The cardigans I’ve seen with the stripes running vertically all are nice and fitted which makes sense…and looks great! 😀
