Why I am retiring from Ultramarathoning

- I did 7 ultramarathons in 13 months, learned a lot, and we are starting a new chapter in my running journey - and I am EXTREMELY excited.
Before anyone comments, I am obviously aware that there are a few anomalies in that some of the races I haven't raced yet have had people my age have success, so it's not a hard rule that you can't run competitive ultras at a young age, I'm just keen to work on my 5k/10k/Half/Full to increase my potential of becoming better at Ultramarathons when I return

back to 5k, that’s what I have been waiting for over an year now
Soooooo keen
Keen to show my running progress moving forward!
Bugger. Was looking forward to you running UTA100 2025. Hopefully see you out there one day.
I have a feeling I might be able to tick off the road time goals by the end of the year, and if so I might do UTA 50 haha
Defs not 100km though
@@SotaMaehara that would be awesome
Park run warrior incoming
Haha probs not 😂 I love easy running on Saturdays
But I will be racing 5k’s more often on the track hopefully
"Running Ultras for fun", Sota you and I have a different idea of fun.
[I did the UTABM22 in 2023 and gota admit it was fun, even at my slow pace]
UTA 22 was so fun, I agree!
I wasn't planning on drinking tonight.....but I will be raising a few to honour the memory of the goat's ultra career
Haha this is such a good comment
I prefer running fast for a short period of time than running slow for a long period of time.
Kinda fast for long is the most fun for me right now
But a very mature decision.
Thoughts on the Brisbane 2025 marathon course?
Nice one coach! Excited to see the upcoming journey!!
Thanks!!
Someone from Perth here!
What do you wanna know? 😬
Perth running festival related?
Im coming to do that marathon in 3 weeks. Cant wait
You should just focus on getting a fast time for the 5k, 10k and HM distances.
That’s the plan
Hey I was in the elite field at B2M?!?!
You are a big time anomaly, same with your backyard ultra ability
Is running 160k in just under 25 hours fast?
Fast is relative, but interestingly I know that 24 hours for 160km is 8:57/km because of backyard ultra
Obviously it would depend on the elevation and technicality of the terrain too
