I am so sorry Lily. It hurts to lose any kind of pet especially if you feel like you didn’t do something you should have. I have cried for days over several so I know how you feel. One of them was a careless mistake on someone else’s part and that really hurt as it was my mother’s cat that I got after she passed away. Praying that you and Ollie can comfort each other.
By the way, if you think about it, when you cut the grass, throw the clippings into the chickens. They love weeds and grass and stuff like that. Ours have been free ranging a lot lately. But when we had them confined to their chicken yards, it was all just dirt because they had eaten all of the grass. So we would throw clippings and them and they gobbled it up like a dog with dog treats
