    Oh my gosh, I had to watch this video twice because once just was not enough! It was so nice to have some great story time and to hear how school is going for Ollie , it’s such a huge part of his life and for those of us that don’t have children it is so special. Thank you for sharing it with us.

      @@tfinci I can totally see that, having to Google answers lol! You should think about getting an Amazon Alexa. We just got one a couple of weeks ago and I am already addicted. In addition to playing random music on command just by speaking to it, it can also answer questions for you. That would be a fun thing to do with Ollie too. 😉

      It broke my heart. He is such a good boy. I think it was wrong. I will monitor it closely. He was sitting still, just not cross legged. He doesn't like to sit that way. He always wants to make everyone happy so to him, it was really bad. To take 10 minutes from his 20 minute recess, I think, was excessive ❤

    Hey there Ollie bug, I’ve missed you. Im glad you like your new teacher and that you get packed lunches too. In Australia all 4 of my children had packed lunches and rode on the bus every day too. Lily i agree with you on the corporal punishment and I’ve never seen that overhear. I do know they had the cane but that was dropped year’s ago and it’s detention or suspension now. Take care guys and thank you for sharing your day at school Ollie 👍❤️🫂

      @@tfinci I would probably be taken off in a cop car for the same thing lol. NO ONE Touches my kids but me and I’ve had to go to the headmistress about one of my girls, i sent a letter from the doctor and myself saying she could not play sport anymore because of the damage to her knee. After being polite twice i get this phone call to say come in for a meeting with this bitch. Well by the next day I had stewed all night and was not happy. As I said I started politely asking her why this was a problem for her to understand that the doctor (specialist) said no more sports, her reply was she didn’t believe me, whoopsie WRONG thing to say. I calmly said “ so what your saying is you don’t believe me or the doctor “ and she said yes that was correct, i saw my daughter in the corner of my eye and her quiet oh dear and hunch down in her chair so i held her hard for encouragement, looked at the headmistress and let rip about it (not letting her get a word in as I’d been quietly copping it for half an hour) then I stood up and and said if i had one more letter or phone call about it there would be hell to pay and I would go over her head and sort it, got up and left taking my daughter with me.😂😂😂 as i walked out of the door there must have been 10 or more mums outside with shock on there faces so I looked them in the eyes and dropped my last statement to them of “ if you have to deal with that person (no swearing) good luck and left. She was a right bitch. Got a letter a couple of days later asking me to come and talk to the Headmaster who was higher than her, i did so and resolved the issue and I did not apologise to her, he did ask and I said hell no not after what she said to me. Oooh it was a pearler but no more letters home. Some times i think the power goes to there head. Love and hugs ❤️❤️🫂🫂

    So happy to see you and Ollie. He is a little doll and so loving! I am sure it hurt his feelings when he got in trouble. I have never wanted to be a teacher though. It takes a special person to deal with all those children. I remember when I was in middle school, they had huge paddles in the principals office. It kept a lot of the bad kids in line. They did not want to get a paddling. I can’t believe that they would even suggest it at Ollie’s age. I don’t remember whether it was an option when Seth went to school though. Sometimes I do think that if some of these bad kids were disciplined, it may have kept them out of juvenile court. Some of them around here go as far as threatening the teachers. Not sure what the solution is. I bet you will never have any problems with Ollie though.

    • @tfinci
      @tfinci  2 роки тому

      I don't agree with it in the schools but you have a point. When they stopped letting the parents discipline their children for fear of loosing them to the state, is when everything went downhill. I remember that when my kids were in school. The school taught them that we were not allowed to spank them or they could call the cops. I know my kids got very disrespectful after that. I'm not talking beating the crap out of them and leaving marks, but a good ol fashioned spanking is needed sometimes. Why society is what it is today. I hope I was able to raise Ollie differently. He never gets in trouble at home. Always loving, never sneaks or lies. Except water, 🤣 he sneaks water bottles up to his room for nighttime. Now that I know, its no longer sneaking. Lol. The boy likes water!❤

    • @teresalong777
      @teresalong777 2 роки тому

      @@tfinci yes they taught those kids to pull the DHR card and most kids don’t know the difference between a spanking and a beating. I think a lot of the discipline stopped there because you don’t even won’t to go through a DHR investigation. There is a huge difference and there are a few cases where kids are actually beaten. I see it in my work and it is horrible. I think the fear of the paddle kept a lot of kids in line. They would not cross that line. We all got spankings at my house. Most of us stayed out of trouble except my rebellious brother who drew it like a magnet in his teens. He grew up though and turned out fine. You can just look at sweet Ollie and tell he won’t be a problem. He doesn’t like getting in trouble at school so he will not cross any lines I bet. That is so funny about the water. It could be a lot worse. It could be sweet drinks or cola…

    Oh Ollie Bug. Breaking my heart tonight. You are perfect and wonderful! In my opinion they were too harsh on him and they shouldn’t have taken away his recess time as a punishment. Boys gotta run around!! And I have NEVER been asked about corporal punishment-1000% N.O!!!

    • @tfinci
      @tfinci  2 роки тому +1

      I'm sure he was sitting, just not her way. All kids will fidget. A bit harsh. We are so protective ❤❤❤ we have one chance is the way I see it. This age (toddler and early grade school) is particularly important and molds them for the rest of their lives. My humble opinion.❤
      I still can't believe that is even legal!😡

    They need to give them 2 options for sitting. As long as they are still and not moving around, it shouldn’t matter how they chose to sit. Some kids just aren’t comfortable doing criss cross applesauce. My legs always fell asleep and try to get up and it was awful.

    • @tfinci
      @tfinci  2 роки тому +1

      I agree. He said he was sitting on his toes. I know what he meant. He sits that way at home. I'm pretty sure he was behaving. That has never been an issue with him ❤

    While I am tearing up! I cannot believe, he lost 10 minutes for not sitting criss cross as long as he was being still! I bet this teacher gives out awards to kids and not all too! Not a good teacher in my book! I feel so sorry for Ollie Bug! 😢😭

    • @tfinci
      @tfinci  2 роки тому

      I don't agree with it. He never sits cross legged at home. I'll be making a phone call Monday and sending a note. I'm pretty sure he wasn't misbehaving, that is rare for him. Unfortunately, there are no other options for school being so rural here and honestly, this school has been great for him as a whole. Something changed this year though. Fun fact, I am positive his teacher cant sit cross cross🤣. As long as they are down and listening, that's all that should matter. I also teared up when he told me.❤
