I don't really hate either of them. It's hard to. Pretty much every character in Nier and Nier: Automata is a tragic one. Androids who can't accept or understand that they have the same emotional capacity as humans, believing they're not truly "alive" because they're manufactured, robots who can never completely grasp the concepts of human emotion but are obsessed with imitating it nonetheless, and an inevitably horrible fate for everyone in the Nier universe regardless of whether they're part of the YoRHa plan or not.
I genuinely just pity most of the characters. Even, to a small degree, the side quest characters you encounter that have completely fucking lost it.

I think Adam and Eve were designed as the personification of the logical mind and the emotional mind. Adam only cared about logic, knowledge and rationallity. His lack of seeing the emotional consequences of his actions caused him to be reckless and die for the sake of knowledge. Eve however never seemed interested in knowledge and logic. He just wanted to be happy and be with Adam. Due to adam's death Eve's emotions went out of control, which made Eve willing to kill all of the world including himself. Adam died because he only had logic lacked emotion, Eve died because he only had emotion and lacked logic. The message of this story, it is important to balance logic and emotion. Because too much and too little of either will be bad for yourself and the world.

you can hear it multiple times throughout this fight, especially when eve goes into his final orb spamming form, and it dwindles out as he loses power which is a great effect. Actually, if you listen, literally every major plot part in the game when the final segment of something is happening, Sound of the End plays which makes it even more iconic and the name resonate.
It even plays althroughout the time 2B is infected by the logic virus and is getting closer to death
Utilising half the open world for essentially a boss rush as the first ending. I wish more games could do that.
Had to re-load a save. I barely died the first time and then lost all my health items. The game re-loaded at the last phase of the boss, but my health items were still gone. Worse still, you lose all your plug-ins as well. That checkpoint system was designed very poorly. Each time you die, you're left with less tools. Why not just load before the boss? Or at least restore the health items that weren't used at that point during the fight.
You know that you can go up to your old body and recollect your chips, right? Also you must have had v few healing items, which is your fault since you can easily go buy them from any vendor, and it's not like this fight was a surprise... The game's respawn system isn't perfect, but it's pretty good and used by countless other games (notably Dark Souls), and happens to fit the game really well thematically.
Also the checkpoint system is arguably 'kinder' than in most games, for example: if you die during phase 3 of a boss, you spawn back in at the beginning of phase 3. Most games will put your right back to the beginning, which feels way worse than "oh no I don't have those few healing items anymore".
However if you did take in loads of heals but you just end up using a _lot_ of them, then think about changing your chips to ones which help mitigate this. Such chips include Deadly Heal for non boss fight roaming around, Offensive Heal for whenever, Auto Use Item so that your healing items are more effective, Max HP Up for obvious reasons, and Melee/Ranged Defense Up again for obvious reasons.

I'm not sure if this is worth beating, especially considering that you have to beat the game many times for some reason and the first playthrough is very annoying.
@@RingTeam Well, that is a bit of a lie. You beat the game once, then you play again as a new character and a lot is different. Then you just have to replay the final mission for the true ending. It honestly is not that much extra effort
@@RingTeam It's 200% worth beating. Because every playthrough is different, with first 2 of 3 total having some things common because they're essentially telling the same part of the story through different points of view.
@@synt4x1e Now that you mentioned it, I was in the route C a couple of months ago, but I got stuck in a part (right at the beginning) where I had to kill hundreds of robots in a time limit, but they killed me in two or three hits.
Why do I have to kill hundreds of enemies with huge health each enemy in a time limit? I'm trying to learn, I'm trying to defend myself, I want to like the game. But it's no use.

Even on Normal difficulty, Eve is a pain. I died several times against him.

I can’t remember the last time I felt genuinely intimidated by a boss. Yeah, I pitied him to an extent, but mostly, I was just scared of him. The screaming, snarling, laughing, the way he says, “EVERYTHING MUST DIE!” Hell, look at his appearance at 7:54. *shudder*

This game is excellent, absolutely a future classic. 9/10 from me! I was completely absorbed in it. The ending just came all of a sudden for me. When the credits started rolling, I felt sad and empty. Sad because the ending really got under the skin. Empty because I wanted, even expected, the journey to continue. But then again, I spent dozens of hours without even realizing it. So I couldn't blame the game for the fun not lasting forever. Couldn't wait what the other routes has to offer. Here is my review:
The game is very nicely stylized from the artwork to the music. Frankly, soundtrack is one of the best I have heard, there's not much more to say. Regarding the artwork, post apocalyptic environments looks astonishing at it's best, and there is nice amount of variety in the milieu. You can not enter buildings and there are invisible walls, but the playable area is compelling enough. I hoped many locations had a bit more little details thought. Character design is cool and I give big pros for the "naive" robot design, which actually gives the appealing, cohesive, iconic essence to the design work. In all it's modesty it gives the "soul" to the robots and somehow fits the narrative just perfectly.
Theme, narrative and characters are all interesting with some fundamental philosophy and sense of mystery behind them. Even thought the setting is interesting, the plot is unfortunately somewhat short and cursory overview over the vast philosophy behind the setting. By it's premises it had potential to offer a lot more depth in the form of narrative and hidden clues. Especially I hoped there were more to Adam and Eve, destruction of the creators and the evolution of the machine lifeform. Nevertheless, I was on the edge all time till the ending. Maybe more answers awaits in different routes...
Combat at normal difficulty is fun and accurate, even more so after remapping the controls (I used DS layout). It is cross breed of Souls type combat and hack 'n slash with varying flavors, like arcade style phases (+++). Evade system is at the core of the mechanics. Spamming it makes you basically untouchable. Up to the player, if to spam it or not ;) Attacks are always fun to execute, as the animations and effects are smooth and beautiful. Some goliaths put me on toes even when evading all the time. The game is not easy, but not DS hard either. I only hoped it was possible to switch the lock-on target with the stick, as many times I accidentally locked on wrong target. But still, it's a minor flaw in this otherwise solid combat. Plugins chips and pod programs add nice flavor to game mechanics, even thought I managed to beat the game with most of the available chips never used. But for each their own. Regarding weapons, there are different categories, all of which has the same move set. More unique move sets to the weapons would have added even more depth to the game mechanics, but these are minor flaws.
And to think. There was still 100+ hours of content left

Damn. The way the vocals changed when it transitioned into the little cutscene where 9S gets into the fist clash with Eve was perfect.
Doing this as a lvl 22 with no recovery items is very difficult

I wouldn't call them a prologue, more like the first half of the story. Most of the time you get to play as 2B is there anyway.

Ray Chase's performance as Eve may have been the reason he was chosen to play post timeskip Nier in the remaster of the first game.
I was already hyped for this! That it has multiple endings(replay value)! I would definitely play it over!
So Eve is basically Nero with Noctis's voice, no Royal Arms but an army of machines and Devil Trigger.
To think Eve all this time was a foreshadowing of what would happen to 9S...

When I fought Eve, I killed him surprisingly fast. Granted, I'm a master at evading.

I need help. I just finished this game with this ending, but I don't know if I need to play it again on a new slot, or there's some new game+ option. The only thing I get saving after credits was a saved game to get the "Hungry for Knowledge" ending, buy nothing more.
Can someone explain to me what exactly happened at the end? With 9S entering the body of the machines. What did it mean and did he retain his memories from the moments before?
gnarrogant 9s backed up his memories in the machines around them so he doesn't lose all the memories he has. Beforehand 2b thought the only backed up data was before they went through all of this so 9s would be a whole different person. But since he backed up his memories in the machines he will remain the same once he gets a new body.
