If you are trying to mount to a ceiling, I would suggest you just push adhesives out of your mind and just staple the acoustic foam up. Staple holes are easily filled with just paint, no mudding required. Command strips would be more expensive than the foam itself to hang it and cheaper adhesives will do more damage than staples anyway. Just staple it then you are sure it wont come down.

I bought Velcro (well, hook and loop). I glued it to the back of the acoustic panels with serious glue - and then I used a construction stapler to staple the other part of the hook and loop sheet to the wall. The wall had structured wall paper so couldn't really glue - well, I could, but it would have required oceans of glue. Instead, I just stapled the velcro to the wall. Very minimal holes. Of course, if I pull the panels off the wall I no doubt rip out the stapled velcro too but I don't really need to remove them, and even if I do - I can just re-staple the velcro to the wall. Command strips are a good idea too assuming the glue holds. I've heard varying levels of satisfaction with them, sometimes they do release.

Hey!, I think the correct way of removing the command strips is to pull it down in the direction parallel to the wall. So in effect stretching it, until it's all gone. That way it will definitely not damage the wall.

Just trying out a few different ideas in a house I am renting. I attached 4 foam tiles to an a2 sheet of thick card and used command strips to stick the card to the wall but it didn't take going to put a dehimifier and a heater (I'm in northern Europe) and try again after a few days to see if they will stick better. Thank you for the advice.

I know from experience because I have a whole studio of falling panels after one year, because I used the smaller ones 🤦🏼‍♂️ Here, the viewer doesn’t get a good look at the package for the product. every video I come across is using these strips.. I used these to put up acoustic foam about a year ago, Nearly every one of them now barely hang on, corners pop off and even full squares falling off. spent probably 50$ on those strips, Big waste of money and time. No other solutions though one can find online. Im going to switch it up, Find a couple of rolls of sticky velcro and see if that will work. Might be more rough on the walls, but saving walls isnt that important if your product keeps falling/not sticking properly. Maybe they work less living in a hot/cold environment ? either way, they cost way to much for what you need to lose their sticky-ness.

Hey Martin, if ever you consider doing a video on the importance of a storm door - I can attest. I just bought a $50 full glass front storm door off craigslist. It made the traffic noise in my living room go from a startling hiss, to a very faint whisper. Some cars with louder engines can still be heard (maybe that is the low frequency being hard to stop). Overall, it changed my life. I'm actually happy to sit in my living room now when I come home from work (rush hour time). This was even after re-weather stripping my front door, which somehow didn't do much. It is a solid wood door, but has a big oval window in the middle. I also sealed drywall with caulk over my existing windows in this room, because I'm waiting until January for new laminated glass windows to arrive, and replace my old single pane windows.

@@soundproofguide Oh yeah, you certainly can. I'd even send you pics or a short video of the storm door with the busy road out front if you'd like. It's nothing special, but made a big difference. Also wanted to say - There is a small glass shop in my town. They sold me a 45" by 30" piece of 1/4" laminated glass for $100. I acoustic caulked it in my window frame to make my own "Indow". I heard Indows are $400 and they're plexiglass, so I'm thinking this may even be better DIY option for about 1/4 the cost.

Sorry to be a harsh critic in your comments.
I have been following your channle for a while, and I would love to see you implement visual soundproofing in your video settings as well. You already know a lot on the subject but your audio quality has a lot reverb.
As well your camera focus is on auto mode constatntly trying to refocuse that makes it very jaring. Last, the presentation you deliver can be more short and edited with more visuals and factual work. In a sense of saying dont tell me what works, show me what works.
You have a lot of potential in your channle and I would like to see you grow, and showing the audiance that you lead by exsample would be a huge boost for you IMO.

the correct way to remove command strips is pull tab along wall stretching tape which cause it to release...not pulling out away from wall as you show in video. Try it works even better and will prevent any damage 99% of the time. good video thanks!
