I got a Border Collie from the used dog lot. She was 3 years old. After a month or so we took her to the dog park. Clearly she'd never been to one before. It took her a while to realize she could run freely. It was the first time I'd ever seen a dog run at turbo speed. It was alarming.
Dude, are you spying on my little farm?? Those sheep are so accurate, even the attitude and then suddenly not knowing where to run when the border collie comes towards them. That was so funny. Thank you
We have a small flock of sheep, with out oldest being 10 and 11. We don't really use our dogs to move them, cuz theyre usually in small enough pens anyway. But every time the older girls see our dogs (especially my late old girl, Kie, a registered border collie), their response was to just face her directly, stare at her sternly, and stomp very savagely. They'll do one stomp, give it a few moments, and the longer Kie hung around, the more frequently and sternly they'd stomp. While Kie just laid flat against the ground staring at them and waiting for her opening to go and move em. It was always just so funny that instead of immediately running, our older ewes would just stare and stomp very sternly like "GO. AWAY. NOW. IM WARNING YOU." Little stand off that goes nowhere and is highly amusing.
A friend of mine who had sheep also had an idiot dog(not a border collie) thought it would be a good idea to go into the shed where the new mamas & their lambs were. They stamped their feet, and he ignored them. So they butted and kicked him, and then they chased him out of the shed. 😂 Dumb dog. I think my friend had to rehome him because he definitely wasn't farm dog material.
