Still a great film in 2021. Hats off to the cast, stirling job! British film with great British actresses and actors.. I wish people still spoke with those accents. Loved it.
Thank you ever so much for this awesome movie, proper British, proper English, real British actor's and actresses, awesome, proper awesome, thank you so much 💞🍾🥂🍻🤗👍🏼☕🍶🥃🍷⚓🇬🇧🇬🇧🤗😂😂🤣🤣🙏🏾🙏🏾🦋🦋🇬🇧
The wonderful Peggy Mount.. She was a star. The casting for this was superb. Those were the days, comic office cleaners and the tea trolley coming around at break time. Always a happy working environment and no stress. Love this film.
What a great film, brilliant cast & storyline....it’s so English & that adds to its undoubtable charm...along with tea and toast it always cheers me up.
Not crumpets? Scones? Biscuits? Ithought the only Toast in the UK was served with Matt Berry on it...Anyway I'm five minutes in and so far only the accents and the bowler hats mark it as foreign to the US!
"Don't do nothin' illegal. And if you do, don't get caught "! That has been my mantra for many many years. One of the best pieces of advice I've ever gotten. The 2nd piece of advice I've always lived by is never admit you're at fault. Just state the facts as they are asked and nothing more. Great movie!
Aw bless - splendid and underrated performances from gems Avril Elgar and Miriam Karlin. Great character acting by those two wonderful ladies in particular.
Such a great film. . Love it. . I remember seeing it it at the cinema back in the day in 1963.. "It's All Over Town" pop film was the B film on with it. ...
Set in the Greatest City in the World and Starring Robert Morley, Harry H Corbett, Arthur Mullard, Jon Pertwee, Nigel Davenport and a host of others! What more can you want on a cold January day!!!
@Laura Lynne Welcome enjoy the movie There are other classic movies I have downloaded. Norman Wisdom "The Square peg" And quite a few lost gems from nicer age.
Characterful cast move the story line along garnished by a historical backdrop of our evolving culture of using elbow grease and nouse to make the most of arising opportunities.... very British.
@ Shiela Pivovarova Thank you for the compliment Shiela.... I try my best. hopefully you will enjoy my channel. Have a great day and stay safe. Warren.
Some terrific actors. One of my favourites is Marianne Stone (40:46), who will always be the silent, slave braclet wearing chum of Claire Quilty, in Lolita.
I swear a very young, waifish (until she opened her mouth,) Juliette Kaplan played the communistic, worker's party Mrs. Higgins. BUT IMDB says it was Miriam Karlin. I'm sure they're right but still. In the film, that chick looks and talks just like Juliette Kaplan......
WOLFROY47 A lot were sent off to so called new towns like Milton Keynes (the place with no roads and plastic cows in the middle of fields.) It destroyed the London communities... Believe me you would not recognise the East end now its Mass migrant land and those terreced houses are still standing but full of migrants who were allowed to buy them up cheap by the successive govts. 😡😡😡 I'm a Londoner and moved out because no one speaks English anymore. 💩

isnt it weird that this channel is called event horizon like the sci fi movie with lawrence fishborne and sean pertwee jon pertwees son and jon pertwee happens to be in this film. is this a coincidence or did you put this in as a test for fans.
I must say a well thought out theory bu my user name was around long before the film. .event horizon mean waiting for things to come applies to my work ( I'm a modeller always waiting for the next model to come into mind and reality.) have a great day stay safe and question everythimg. I remember seeing it as a new release, but I can't remember the second film -certainly not a pop film though.
@@davidjones332 I lived in Croydon at that time & that was the double bill.
@@davidjones332 With that name you must've had an awful time from 1966 on if you didn't like pop music!

Enjoyable. Thanks for uploading.
This is so good, I normally watch movies from the '40s and dislike later eras of black and white but these are great.
Delighted by Peggy Mount, who until now I only knew as the stalls lady from Doctor Who's "The Greatest Show in the Galaxy". :)
If you liked Peggy Mount in this, look on line for Inn for Trouble. You’ll be in for a treat!
Brilliant film
Brilliantly exasperating, or exasperatingly brilliant, I can’t make up my mind!
Absolutely loved it
Thanks!!!
@Laura Lynne
Welcome enjoy the movie

Norman Wisdom "The Square peg"

Only the Poms know how it's done. Legendary cast.
All at their beginnings too. TV brought so many to the big screen, via Coronation Street, Rag Trade and Steptoe and Son.
YES I LOVE THESE OLD MOVIES EVERYONE KEPT THEIR CLOTHES ON , THESE DAYS PEOPLE WERE CLEAN .
Richard Williams Because they were censored and wouldn't work again if they did it any other way.

Now *that* is some funny ass shiat! Lol hahaha
This lady is so fiesty, she's my favorite out of the whole movie for sure!
Brilliant- it's a whole movie on the concept of the one scene in Wall Street where he pretends to be an office cleaner 👌🏻😆😆😆
What a cast and mrs Alf Garnett too.
And this, folks, is why there are now laws for environmental justice.
Old Comedy is the best
Quality British movie...

.. and a minor point where only the 2 partners knew about Waldron but he complains because he can't find where his sec has put the waldron file....

Blodwyn Davies What?! Can that be true? In that gentler, simpler, more innocent time? IMPOSSIBLE. :)

I wonder if the Producers of the Excellent ITV Drama 'Cleaning up' with Sheridan Smith got any ideas from this?
No evil could win unless it is protected
I have not seen this film.
