Do you know how and why the King managed to return home safely ? Because of Ottomans. Ottoman even took a revenge on Russia on Prutt battle. Peter demanded to turn over the king but got declaration of war by Ottomans. They nearly took Peter as a captive but fast Russian revocation to peace ended Ottoman siege. Pasha sought that he managed to obtain whatever he wanted but he did not know that Russians were ready for even larger territorial concessions.
