Using this model since Feb 2021. One beauty is you can VESA mount this behind a monitor using a rack Lenovo sell ( for $16 last year), and use alt-p on keyboard to power it up(UEFI setting). If your monitor is mounted on a wall or a rack, then, Lenovo has another rack model around $35 you can sandwich mount this PC.
Some do and some don't. Each are available with a variety of CPUs, RAM, and Storage. Generally speaking, the higher the number the higher end the system. Yes a low number machine may be offered with high specs and a high number machine offered with low specs, but generally the higher number ones have dedicated graphics options and features that are not offered on the lower systems. Does that make sense? I know it can be a bit convoluted
Hi! Is it possible to undervolt the CPU in the m70q(i5) or m75q (AMD 5650GE)? Or do you have experience, if the AMD version gets hotter and also noiser, than the Intel i5 version? And how about i3 version (is this cooler than the i5)? Thank you!
I've never noticed any differences between Intel an AMD as far as heat on these. I do not believe any Factory Lenovo allows you to change any attributes like a overclocking custom motherboard would.
Just reporting back now after nearly 3 months. I've been running my ThinkCentre M70q pretty much 24/7 since I got it and have had zero problems with overheating. Highest I've seen the CPU temp go was ~50C and it averages around 42C core and 44C package. Ambient temp has been around 24-28C
@@fresh_catspresso I have i5-10400T which has 6 cores 12 threads. Never overheated. Highest temp I've now seen is ~60C I've used it as a Twitch streaming rig 24/7 for around half a year now.
I wanna know if there is support for a pci express x8, to put a ethernet card so i can make this a router with pfsense. I believe there is not one because i didnt see it in specs but worth asking

I usually just go with the tiny in one monitor, but that is a great solution as well!
Please consider recording power consumption (watts) at idle / gaming / 100% utilization in future reviews
Well, that 2,5" caddy supposedly should come out to see if there is any pcie slot underneath.
What card are you thinking you will fit in there?
Is the upgrade from i5 10100t to i5 11400t really worth? I think the performance boost is kinda low and can't be noticed for normal use
HI, nice video. May I ask how this unit is on fan noise? Some of these SFF can be a bit noisy, even at idle.
Thanks.
I've noticed that as well, but not on this unit.
i used this at work... company provided this to us during pandemic as a WFH set up. it's very quiet.
Thank you. Great video. Great beard.
Thanks!
What is the difference between the M70q, M75q, M80q, and M90q? It seems like they overlap on specs...

I am sorry to ask, is CAD $840 a good price for this, with 16 GB DDR4 3200MHz. I have been offered this. I feel the base frequency is a bit low.
needs 2 thunderbolt ports to be a contender.

The memory and nvme is located at the bottom panel. Is it at risk of getting wet in case of spilled drink?
Sure, but you can also stand this up vertically.
Do you know if this unit supports 4k HDR or what version of DP/HDMI it has?
Max Resolution is 4096x2160 @ 60Hz for HDMI. 5120x3200 @ 60Hz for DisplayPort. Version information is not on the published docs.
What’s a good use for this machine
Standard business applications, MS Office, web browsing, etc. Not CAD or Gaming
Nice review. I've the AMD version & run Linux and it's pretty noisy. Am I the only one ?
Can you get some pwm fan software on there to see what's happening?
Does these Thinkcentres still have overheating problems some users have reported in the past ~5years? Have they added any more heat pipes etc?
I've sold a bunch of these and had zero issues. The only ones I've heard heat issues with at all have dedicated graphics.
@@ZipTieNinja Thank you!

@@uglitor which CPU do you have there? I'm curious how many cores it can handle without overheating

No
Una pregunta! Este solo viene la torre, osea no viene con pantalla, teclado?
Teclado y ratón incluidos. Sin monitor ¡Gracias!
Hi. Does anybody know how do working this pc with photography program like adobe photoshop and lightroom? Thank you
Does the front USB support display out i.e. if I have a USB C hub with video out will this work?
I don't think so
Out of the box is this wireless capable?
yes
Does this unit have Screen record software that comes built-in?
No but OBS Studio does a great job on any pc!
Hows the heat on stress test?
Not too bad, but the fans get ramped up if you put a lot of load on the PC
Can we use the monitor and connect to a gaming computer?
Yes but don’t expect to get high fps. The highest is probably 60 fps since the monitor is probably only 60hz.
Are the M.2's 3.0 or 4.0?
