The M16 rifle, officially designated Rifle, Caliber 5.56 mm, M16, is a family of military rifles adapted from the ArmaLite AR-15 rifle for the United States military. The original M16 rifle was a 5.56 mm automatic rifle with a 20-round magazine.
In 1964, the M16 entered US military service and the following year was deployed for jungle warfare operations during the Vietnam War.] In 1969, the M16A1 replaced the M14 rifle to become the US military's standard service rifle. The M16A1's improvements include a bolt-assist, chrome-plated bore and a 30-round magazine (previously 20 rounds).
In 1983, the US Marine Corps adopted the M16A2 rifle and the US Army adopted it in 1986. The M16A2 fires the improved 5.56×45 mm NATO (M855/SS109) cartridge and has a newer adjustable rear sight, case deflector, heavy barrel, improved handguard, pistol grip and buttstock, as well as a semi-auto and three-round burst fire selector. Adopted in July 1997, the M16A4 is the fourth generation of the M16 series. It is equipped with a removable carrying handle and Picatinny rail for mounting optics and other ancillary devices.
The M16 has also been widely adopted by other armed forces around the world. Total worldwide production of M16s is approximately 8 million, making it the most-produced firearm of its 5.56 mm caliber. The US military has largely replaced the M16 in frontline combat units with a shorter and lighter version, the M4 carbine

Was using a M4 but I couldn’t run level 3 armour or level 3 ammo, so I’m using m16 kitted out with them 2 max upgrades best choice I’ve ever done

Yea I'm kinda with you, and also annoys be to an extent how they have nearly 100k of gear per one soldier, and the gear is the newest and greatest shit, just stuff like that downgrades the realism

@@trollingtrolled4514 I've been playing Local Play to get used to the game. You won't be annoyed by the gear. The security force and the insurgents both have old gear and weapons for the most part unless you add a mod like ISMC. My AI security force teammates look like the salvation army handed out vietnam era camos to some street hobos. The movement and character models remind me of Arma 2. But the gameplay is really good, sound is awesome.

@@trollingtrolled4514 Boi, you don't know what Special Operations is, do you? If you do, you know that this setup is actually being phased out in favor of an HK416A7, so don't gimme the crap about it being expensive, an HK416A7 is wayyyyy more expensive than an M16A4, number 1, number 2, every soldier gets a PEQ-15, Suppressor, G33 Eotech Magnifier, and Eotech EXPS-3, as well as a Magpul RVG, across the line nowadays and M203, should they be a grenadier.
