There are a few more classic synths with odd envelopes I can think of with both levels and rates: Juno 1 (it might be similar to D50) and Ensoniq ESQ1/SQ80. Maybe you can compare these in a future video?
I have owned a CZ 101 in the eighties, it was the only synth i had and used it a lot for recordings and improvisations . For me ,a guitarplayer, it had some magic in it , liked it . Unfortunately i sold it in the 90s :( Check out my Channel for examples.
I´ve owned CZ-5000 and CZ-1. Now I have a CZ-1000 from 2 years ago. These synths have a wonderful and a really unique sound, but they are a nightmare to program.
I'm really surprised you say that. They're not as easy as a analogue synth for sure, but they are well laid out and very logical. I found D50 the worst to program, I wouldn't attempt it with out an editor.
Just picked up a CZ-1 yesterday. This was a very useful video to help me conceptualize the envelopes on this synth. Thanks so much!
Glad it helped!
Just what I was looking for. Thanks you 🙏🏻
No problem!
I can hear vangelis and his Yamaha CS80 in some of the sounds ... amazing that what can you achieve with the CZ1
Yes indeed.
great videos I apreciate you
Many thanks.
Have any of your own recordings I can check out?

Yes, there certainly are a few that go beyond the standard ADSR. I've got plans for an ESQ1 series, so will certainly cover that.
thanks for the informational video! I havent had the chance to mess with my CZ-1, time to pull it out
Could be :-)

Yeah, same for me. Only poly synth I had until I got an ESQ 1 in 95.

The DX7 is way worse in my opinion
@@jibjamjangles Definitely! There's a reason the D50 and the DX7 are famous for their presets... :)
@@jibjamjangles. I find it hard to make resonance filter sounds with fm synthesis.
