They didn't just end up together, they populated the surface. Created the royal family of Hyrule. Look at the crest of the royal family on the Hylian shield, Hylia's white winged crest(which you can see in Skyward Sword and BOTW) becomes crimson and has bird like legs, this is a symbol of Link's crimson loftwing fusing with her crest because they got married, mixed their blood together which is why we have all other Zelda's with powers like Hylia.

5:32 jesus this made me realize that, in that dialogue, zelda wasn't jealous of link's proficiency at handling his loftwing, but rather, she was jealous of how he got along with *it* better than with her. there's already nothing subtle about them, but this just adds even more to it

Actually it's not the only time, he also got Zelda in the Minish Cap, Four Swords and technically Adult Link and Adult Zelda we're together as Zelda talks about Young love and when she sends him back in time she's distraught (sorry Malon Shippers), as for wind waker and phantom Hourglass
it's pretty obvious that Link ends up with Tetra at the end due to the establishment of New Royal family, so that just leaves Majora's Mask isn't relevant aside from Chremia so we can ignore that but Twilight Princess is where it gets interesting here the Hero of time seems to have settled down and had kids as he has descendants, with who though we don't know.
The obvious choices would be Ocarina of Time Zelda and Malon as these two are the ones that have feelings for Link but it's never stated one way or another for all we know it could have been a random woman. The entire downfall timeline could go either way and it's strongly implied in the Breathe of the Wild that Link and Zelda get together so yeah Link and Zelda get together in pretty much every timeline its implied that their love is the reason they keep coming back in their roles.
@@crimsonninja4097 If he ended up with Zelda his descendant would have been a ruler in the castle not some ranch hand. I don't think it's implied more than the other either way in Ocarina but Twilight Princess doesn't support OOT Link ending up with Zelda.
Also Twilight Princess HEAVILY implies that Link and Ilia are the couple of that game NOT Link and Zelda. Also, if he ended up with OOT Zelda then it would be incest for his descendant to end up with TP Zelda so that's clearly not canon.
The only games where Link x Zelda are actually implied are Spirit Tracks, Skyward Sword, and Breath of the Wild. Those are the only three that an argument about a canon pairing can be made. For Ocarina of Time Link it's not implied either way (Though Twilight Princess makes Malon more likely), Windwaker it isn't implied, etc, and Twilight Princess very much goes against the idea that every Link and Zelda end up together.

I didn't imply that The Hero of Twilight ends up with Zelda I said Ocarina of Time Zelda had feelings for Ocarina of Time Link but it wasn't stated one way or another and the obvious choice for the Hero of Twilight's ancestor would be either Ocarina of Time Zelda or Malon but for all we know it could have just been a random Woman.
Tetra has reestablished the Royal family which means she had to get together with someone, the closest and most worthy is the Hero, it's implied that Link and Tetra founded new Hyrule as well.

Groose is definitely one of the best characters in the series
It's funny that this feels like the only game where Zelink is a solid thing. Like yeah in BotW they are interested in each other but that Link is still trying to remember things, all other games either only lightly suggest it or outright deny it.

in botw theyre super ambiguous abt the nature of their relationship but also LOVES to drop little subtle hints that alludes to it. They're rlly doing their best to make it as ambiguous as possible, not confirming nor denying anything with botw zelink tbh

This Link and Zelda are the most in love incarnations ever. BOTW/TOTK may surpass them tho.
They’re the childhood friend trope done perfectly. You can see the way they look at each other from beginning to end. They absolutely are in love. The cutest version of it.
There are only a few incarnations of them that don’t have any romance between them. Any of the games where they never met before the adventure like Link to the Past, Link Between Worlds, OOT, and Twilight Princess. While that’s not always the case, like with Adventure of Link, it’s a fair general guideline. The Child Link marries Malon. Link and Tetra seem to have that “childhood crush” level going on. And Twilight Princess he has the childhood friend trope with Ilia.
Botw and totk is absolutely not romantic just because they see eachother doesnt mean it surpasses the lovestory wich already has a full hour of cutscenes in skyward sword
@@finn__3300Um...yes, they are. Zelda is canonically in love with Link in that game, and Link mentions how he thinks Zelda is beautiful in his adventure log in the Japanese version of the game. In TOTK, Zelda and Link share a bed, and it's noted that Link goes everywhere with Zelda to the point people don't recognize him without her.
They literally established the Royal Family as the first King and Queen of Hyrule so if someone doesn't think Skyward Sword Link and Skyward Sword Zelda got together it's because they are either really dense or purposely avoiding it
Well actually they were the basis of the royal family, since their descendants founded Hyrel, so I think their great-grandson was the first king if we go to the chronological.
@@darcor7517True even though places existed since they went to war technically Hyrule as a Kingdom was only established after Rauru and the ancient Sages created The Temple of Time to seal the Sacred Realm bringing an end to the era of Chaos and beginning the era of Prosperity, Rauru is stated to be a descendant of the Royal Family so the Royal Family technically existed before the Kingdom itself did.
Era of Creation: Din, Naryu, Farore create the land etc.
Era of Hylia: The time of Hylias rule to the invasion of Demise.
Era of the Sky: The time of Skyward Sword

Era of Prosperity: Establishment of Hyrule
I think that on Link and Zelda's "date" the music playing is the "Crimson Loftwing" theme (which sounds like a romantic song). And that "Romance in the Air" is the one played on the very first Zelink scene in the game, while "Romance" (which is a shortened version of "Romance in the Air") is played later and also at the end of Karane and Pipit's sidequest. Or at least it's like that when I search the musics on UA-cam, but perhaps the people who posted inverted the titles

Aonuma is the reason the romance doesn't go too hard in the recent games. Fujibayashi is clearly a ZeLink shipper, as all the games he's directed have the strongest element of romance between them. I think I read somewhere they were planning to have the romance be even more overt in SS, but Aonuma told them to dial it back.
And this is one of the thousands reasons I can say about why Skyward Sword is my favorite TLoZ

Just my thoughts: I think it would be better that Zelda's confession for Link after the Wing Ceremony to have gone through before Ghirahim separated them; it would add SO MUCH emotional urgency to the journey for Link and it would have more narrative potential and nuances to the character of Link.
My boyfriend had a great theory which he said that this zelda and link promised each other to be together fighting and saving the world side by side and protecting their future generations and themselves by reincarnation.
That was in a manga but unseats of Zelda it was hylia and the first hero but it’s not cannon but puts everything together soo

You're 100% right! I wrote this entire script in a span of 8 hours and edited it for about 12 hours straight. I basically made this entire video in a 24 hour timeframe to get it out in time for Valentine's Day. College sucks, I don't recommend it 😂

If that mysterious glowing woman in the new TotK trailer is Hylia, I wonder if she’ll confirm the romance between her (as the first Zelda) and the Hero of the Sky.
Yeah but we all know that Hylia is Zelda however, Zelda isn't Hylia. She is a mere reincarnation of her and therefore isn't the same person. This is similar with Demise in the sense that he is reincarnated into Ganondorf which is the "physical" form of evil.
@@awu2160 Only Skyward Sword Zelda is a reincarnation. All other Zelda's are simply born with Hylia's divine blood.
Notice how in Skyward Sword Hylia spoke to Link from her place at the edge of time but she was also reincarnated as Zelda? This makes me think there are 2 versions of Hylia. One who reincarnated herself as a human and 1 who separated herself from the mortal realm at the edge of time AKA the Goddess of time.

In SS Link and Zelda are in love and ended up marrying.
In OoT Link and Zelda are Brother and Sister. But not only brother and sister but Twins. They look almost identical in Oot. In LotP Link and Zelda are either brother and sister or cousins. Because Link's uncle says to Link that "Zelda is your...." before dying. In WW Link and Zelda are just friends. In TP they do not have relation at all except professional (they teamed up to defeat dark lord Ganondorf). In TP Link and Zelda are still related because Link of TP is direct descendant of Hero of Time and TP Zelda is direct descendant of OoT Zelda.

I am not against this Zelink just bc all the details are there for us to see, however it brings me questions. Supposedly from SS up to OoT, aren't all Links descendants of the last? I know Minish Cap also plays the idea that Link and Zelda could end up together but we've never had a Link who is born as Royalty (unless OoT Link was, we know the mother came from the direction of Castle Town but what if she ran away from the castle holding the future King? Not saying Link and Zelda had the same Mother in OoT but we can assume Zelda's mom was also dead by the start of the game) or is the descendant debate only for the Child Timeline, as the Adult Timeline had a new Hero and Fallen Timeline needs to be debated.
Not specifically the soul of the hero reincarnates in descent of the first or the hero of time, since in itself only the soul of the goddess reincarnates in the royal family since they are the only ones with blood of the goddess, the spirit of the hero reincarnates in those hylians who have the skills and can possess the tristrength or at least the triforce of courage and if I speak of toonlink he is not a reincarnation, since the hero of time went with the spirit of the hero to the past, leaving that future without the soul of said hero.

Skyward Sword is supposed to be where the future Links (aka the Descendants of The Hero) come from! Joking aside, it is sad to think that, yes it's true; outside of perhaps Breath of The Wild, Skyward Sword is possibly the only time Zelda and Link were in love. The girl Link is tied to, literally forever, fated to save over and over in each new reincarnation, might never be his to love again. Not only do I find is sad and unfair to the two of them, but also to any other canonical love interest Link has had. Let's say he married Malon at the end of OoT/Majora's Mask when they were adults again. Let's say they had children. Ok. A generation or two later, Link is reincarnated to save Zelda once again, but Malon might not exist or wasn't reincarnated for that timeline (aka game title). It might be one of the other girls instead of Malon, but I don't think that (outside of maybe Malon) the other loves of Link get reincarnated.
It's not Link that is reincarnated, but the spirit of the hero. Link is not the same Link in every game in a new body, it's a brand new person.
Unlike zelda whose incarnations is from her bloodline Link is not it's just the spirit of the hero that gets reincarnated so the links are not frok the same bloodline and are not blood descendants of Skyward sword link
I think Spirit Tracks also tease a bit a relationship between Link and Zelda, but anyway the Link from Ocarina of Time became the golden wolfe so he is a different person than the Link from Twilight Princess

So there are many strong hints of romantic feelings, but no hard proof.
By far my favorite Zelda game, just for the story and the romance.
