Ive been a Frost DK ever since wrath and i feel like Frost is in a weak place right now. I have a Vengeance demon hunter friend who swapped to Havoc for world questing. Despite not really knowing the class and being 10 ilvls below me he was still doing more damage than me. Im not an insanely good DK but i think i am above average and in the past have been top DK in my guild so i don't think i can chalk it up to me being bad. I don't fear seeing Frost DK's out in the world either like I do Warriors. Am I completely way off base here? Or are you noticing it too?
Interesting, I do run Frostscythe but I havn't tried glacial or Obliteration yet, Mostly Frostwrym and Sindragosa for burst in pvp since there is alot of world pvp happening right now. Problem is i feel like Obliterate used to hit like a truck and now hits like a wet noodle and Killing machine procs are not very abundant making Frostscythe not very useful. I felt like something was wrong when my friend who is a career tank and hates dps builds suddenly swapped to havoc and despite not knowing the class and rotations and being lower ilvl was still beating me both in raw damage and dps. I am fine with having low mobility if i swing like a Heavyweight but ill be damned if I just watch my friend zipping around and swinging harder. Feelsbadman
Tips for a new PvP Frost DK player? I know the rotation but Idk if im rotating correctly. Howling blast should be used when I get killing machine proc'd or ?

@@LQsebj Haste affects rune regen, bud. They lowered our chance to gain runes and our haste is abysmal. The tradeoff shouldn't be sitting there auto-attacking for nearly a quarter of the fight.
He didnt say anything about rune regen but being rune starved. Haste has a 2 prong effect, it makes rune regen quicker but you also spend them quicker since it lowers the GCD which means spending runes faster. The only time you know haste is really making an impact on rune regen is past 50% when you can no longer lower the GCD.
In a situation that i have a healer and can take time to properly burst. Ide still take Coldheart in pvp. (better for executes) For BG stomping and self survivability. Ide take Icy Talons. Yes, Cold Heart is better for PvE for sure.
Indeed. A new frost fk jist comming back to wow. I'm 350 I level but can't seem to peak over 10k dps unless I unload all my burst at once. What azeriate traits are you running. Since even at 350 I can't even raid due to not sustaining 10k pkus. So I'm forced to run low end mythic keys praying for better gear. But leading no where. and its really killing the game for me. Any tips tricks. On getting good traits and what I should stack.

You should try out, Frostscythe - glacial - obliteration. Dosent feel week at all in my opinion..

If mastery is so good for a frost DK, how come all the armor rewards I get doing quests only have haste or crit?
As soon as I hit level 80, I went to Pandara (or whatever) and I'm now getting armor with Mastery on it.

Pretty much, yes. Haste being lowered and our resource generation overall being lower leaves us pretty rune-starved in long fights.
Haste have nothing with our rune starving. The faster runes u get the faster ull dump. Tested. It's a trade of for bos dmg

Cold heart is nerfed in pvp situations. 20 stacks = 1 obliterate so I did say icy talons, even more with white numbers so high
